ok well the same thing happined to me...i have Vista too
ok well someone, forgot who but they know who they is, told me to install

rocketdock, but not in programs somewhere else like in your Downloads Folder is

were i installed mines...and it should work...

yup same problem w/ me too, worked by installing it in My Documents

Added double-click to open folder, but it doesn't work, at least with Rocket Dock

Also added error messages for when it can't save the configuration.

For users with Vista and some programming / registry experience, I'd suggest trying IniFileMapping, this is (so as not having to install the dock outside Program files):

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESoftwareMicrosoftWindows NTCurrentVersionIniFileMapping

Create a subkey called Settings.ini and put something such as USR:SoftwareRocketDockDocklets (replace RocketDock by ObjectDock, RKLauncher or whatever your dock is) as default REG_SZ value.

Now go into HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareRocketDock and create a Docklets subkey. If such a subkey already exists, then change the Settings.ini to map to something else.

Settings.ini is the file where RocketDock stores docklet configurations, maybe this file has another name in ObjectDock, RK Launcher, etc....

Mmmm... seems to be dockletstemp.ini in RKLauncher? But then it puts them in itemlist.conf.... oh f****k.

Hope it works or to be useful info to somebody.

but I reopen RK Launcher ,docklet folder changed,it's "D:".

"软件"Disappeared.

At the same time, the “icon:” set disappeared too.

so, kind of update to my problem:
have been trying all kinds of file endings, all work, just shortcuts don't.
neither in rklaucnher nor in rocketdock, well, am i the only person here with this problem?

Your not the only one with this problem. I'm having the same problem. It works fine for everything except shortcuts.

The latest version is now popping up an error message that says "There is no application associated with the given filename extension." When I go to the folder and double click on the same shortcut, it works perfectly fine. So I'm not really sure what the problem is. Thanks matonga for such a cool program. It is getting better every day.

Mine works fine with shortcuts. Did you have Windows to show the extension of known files? Just a wild guess.

Also matonga what do you mean by double click to open a folder. Mine open the explorer windows when i click on a folder.

I noticed some users posting problems with "Follow the dock" unchecked:

When you disable "Follow the dock", the docklet locks the dockbar. This means the dockbar won't change icons sizes, etc... while moving the mouse and indeed it shouldn't let you open other icons or stacks (but it does).

This is the intended behavior when unchecking "Follow the dock". Behavior of the docklet before this option was implemented was due to a poorly coded docklet locking.

However, if you want true Leopard emulation you should check the "Follow the dock" option. There are some videos where you can notice the full stack moves with the stack icon in Mac OS X Leopard.

It doesn't work here, but I released it to see if someone else had the same problem or it was just me.

But it proved worse: someone posted above it opens the folder even with a single click so it will be removed soon (maybe adding an option such as shift+single click will do the trick).

When the option was checked, the dock will be Freezed somehow while you moving mouse over the dock.

Yes, follow the dock is not completely ok, hovering over the dock swhile a stack is open works fine, but when you move out of the dock the last icon stays magnified until you return on the dock

Matías, y si designas shift+click en vez de doble click para abrirse la carpeta? al igual que en el propio explorer de windows..

a mi con rklauncher tampoco me funciono lo del doble click.. quizas sea una limitacion con dobles clicks del dock no de tu docklet, ya que tu si pudiste designar alt click sin problemas, prueba con lo que te digo arriba

i tried the "follow the dock" option on rklauncher and rocketdock and rocketdock handles much better with it... the animation is fluent on rocketdock, in rklauncher the stack freezes a short time before following the docklet, it's just a very short period but then jumps to the new position...

just doesn't look good :'( ^^

My mistake I misunderstood what you had done no it does not open the folder on double click or single click the stack still opens on both.

Me stupid I forgot to export OnDoubleClick.

matonga, I'm having issues on vista with Rocketdock+Stack.

I am ran into the issue of the stacks disappearing on reboot with the older version. I tried your recent version and ran into the Settings.ini issue.

I added your registry suggestions, but that didn't seem to work. I tried variations on the theme as well. Let me know if you have any other questions, I'm happy to help with debugging.

I'm on vista x64, is there a debug mode i can enable or maybe a testing dll i can use to provide you with some more debug info?
