you can also use repacker as before
XWindows Dock v5.2.3
@ AndrewYY See if stacks show up faster if u deselect "Use icon"folder" from skin in the icon tab.
Cause this worked for me.
Things i must say: Effects for stack and grid are EXCELLENT no more to improve there.
Only thing im concerned about still is the magnification effect, it still bothers me, still not as smooth as other docks. Download objectdock and see what i mean. Its another level of smoothness lol. So right now i just disabled the magnification.
Thanks for great updates, later when this product is finished u can take advantage and make good money =)
Ohh and it would be nice if u included extra skins instead of just one.
Good work man u have good potential for job opportunities.
If you don't like magnification... of course I can use 100% of CPU and all resources of system and then you will be able to see perfect magnification or
can you give some suggestions to make this magnification much better ? I mean codes ![]()

Nah, magnification's fine. Perhaps it's a bit slow getting started, but it's fine. I guess if you speed it up it'll look just like rocket dock. I do realize magnification works differently in this dock, but as long as it exists, people shouldn't be complaining. I personally turned magnification on just a bit in the latest versions. I would still like to see the ability to change the magnification radius though ![]()

Well since i dont know any codes ill try to help this way.
-Instead of magnifying only 3 icons the leopard dock magnifies 5 icons (or make it customizable).
- Make it magnify in and out quicker.
And as u mention CPU usage XwindowsDock.exe is using 16,000K of Memory and Object dock is using 8,000K of Memory. Im just saying this because it can be possible. Just i dont know how cause im no programmer or developer. Im just what we call feedback if i were to buy your product.
Hope this helps in anyway !
The dock also magnifies before you actually go over the dock, so say that you have magnification set to 125 and the actual dock size set to 60, the dock will magnify when your mouse pointer goes over the 125 pixels, instead on the actual dock itself
where can i get the link for the new version i click on the link and go to a site where i dont understand :
Okay.... the theme has arrived
http://www.aqua-soft.org/board/showthread.php?p=517559 GET IT.
One issue, which I send to Bobah, I've set panel height to real like Mac, but after making it really small it could shrink itself proportionally. This is only one request I really would like to see.
Now, it is just unable to make it look good with small icons, so, people just wait until Vladimir fix this issue with a little change in skinning engine or I decide to make separate "small" version. Now... let me take care of my girl and hope this makes all of you a bit more happier for a new year! Don't forget to thank Bobah some other way, he deserves it for all the work on this incredible piece of software!

I'll try to help a bit too then. Perhaps each icon's size should be determined by it's horizontal distance from the mouse. There should be a minimum size (the icon size set in preferences) and a maximum size (the zoomed icon value) and the size of the zoomed area should be a setting. Then take the distance and convert it into something non-linear (I was thinking perhaps the 90-180 degrees part of a cosine wave, or an exponential curve of some sort
) and set that as the icon size
. I suggest the cosine wave since that starts and ends smoothly and is curved.
There's no need to make it exactly like every other dock. This dock could end up having a better magnification than every other dock. It already has better grid stack animations ![]()
@Dennis: Not sure if it was intended but that comma in your sig is a grammar error, and it's bugging me ![]()
Edit: Hahahaha love the finder icon XD
how i get the program ??? its hosted in a russian site i dont understant one word ![]()
reload the page then you should see the a link with Xwindowsdock.zip on the end click that then it should download
I think it's a free filehost

Hehe, this coma WAS intended ![]()
Good that you like finder icon, I was just playing with but after I saw result I'm using it instead original ![]()
Nice man, but I think that the height of the dock is too high. It is almost as high as the icons.
Maybe it should be lower.
very nice release Bobah13! Thank you as always ![]()
Once suggestion: Could you make the stack icon animated Bounce an optional setting during opening of a Stack?
For instance:
OPTION: [ ] No stack icon jump when stack open/close. EDIT: "Jump stack on click" has been included since v5.2.3b
By the way, I really like your new stack animation for Fan and Grid!
But the 2 second delay when clicking on a stack, I believe might be caused by the dock icon animated bounce, lagging the progress of the fan/grid open animation. Are they in threaded execution?
I would be so appreciative if we could disable the bounce and just have the stack open immediately. (Your past releases always performed well
)
EDIT: I didn't see the new release: v5.2.3b
Thanks BOBAH13, the setting I was requesting has already been included! Very nice release indeed.
It is real height, just use bigger size of icons for now until skin engine will allow shrinking height or I will make smaller one, now it's kinda difficult due to time limitations ![]()

What size icons should I use, 512x512?
@Denis7OO, what icon size then, is your dock optimally released to be used at? 64px?
EDIT: yea.. what username3d3 said, but with less pep!
60 at least, sorry. I will update with smaller sub-skins or maybe Bobah will do little update which I hope he can make it fast & post so theme will look good with smaller. Please keep comments and requests to theme thread. This is XWD release thread. Peace.

firecracker: that option is already included in this release. Check again, ![]()

Thanks again though dude, really. I've been waiting for this for like 4 days and you came through. Even though it's not perfect, thanks for your dedication.
Okay I will re-post skin in like 30 mins with "Small" versions of skin for those using icons at 32 pix....

Thanks man, yes, your so helpful.
Updated. Keep comments to my skin thread from now on, please.
...did the website die? We haven't had much news of that recently...
Oh yes, just thought of this: The stack off icon (or stack on, I get them mixed up) should stay until the other stack icons cover them up to go away. That way there won't be a blink over there when there's no icon.
Okay, as I promised, here are the skins, they're about 35MB: I got excited; so at the end they were 22 skins. Four of them are 2D.
If you want to change the height of the skin, just apply it, take the pictures in the "Current" folder, and remake it with a different height value.
To install:
1. Just copy/extract the files to the "Skins" folder in the dock's directory
2. Right click to the dock, select Preferences, then Panel and click "Refresh"; and you'll see all the skins.
Here's download link:

(To BOBAH13: I'd be glad if you decide to include these skins in the next dock's installer)
