[release] Firefox Pinstripe Theme
I don't know why exactly, but for some reason, I simply copied the Ash's Classic.jar file into my Mozilla folder and now my Firefox looks exactly (At least at a first glance) to it's Mac OS X Counterpart. I've compared both, as I have my iBook right besides me, and I see no major difference...
I wanted to share that with anyone who found those directions that this guy... can't remember the name, posted on another pinned/closed thread.
Interesting...what I did for a comparitive analysis, is try this wonderfully 'promising' theme on the FireFox (trunks)**** , scragz's -01-G6-SSE 20040209-trunk build..., and just now stipe's -02-GL6-SSE 30040211-trunk build...
Each different build was set up with a new profile and new directory, and only had (1) extension-compact menu...
The extension was installed on the default FireFox theme (on each build) prior to replacing the 'default' Classic.jar with the latest Pinstripe-Classic.jar, and in my case, both builds showed/displayed Pinstripe as my 'ss' on Pg.12 of this thread...
I then installed Smoke 0.8, and Lynchknot's AA 0.8 themes (3) total, and they all displayed the icons in the Toolbar properly...Then went back and installed the default 'classic.jar' in both 'trunk' builds and it too displayed the Toolbar icons properly...
So, it either is a bug in FireFox, as I see that a member reported in a earlier post Pg. 3 or Pg. 4, that his Pinstripe theme was working fine, but the next day there was complete corruption...or we need to find out why this wonderfully looking theme, is displaying fine for some members and not fine for others...
Any more info that I can provide, please feel free to post away, as I know that both Ash & NetRyder have produced a really, really neat theme (fab tabs!), for all of us Windows users to enjoy...

how do I fix the Tabs? I got them to work with TBE but there is still that 5 pix gab, like its missing the bottom part of the graphic. What do I need to edit? Otherwise, it seems everything is qorking great now, I even got the compact menu to work using the instructions of installing it first then doing the pinstripe skin.

hey gahbmwM5, i sent you a pm, it might help, but i don't know after reading your last post... it is strange that its not consistently screwy. I would have thought it had to do with an extension.
But all those themes you tried out were designed for 08, so they should be correctly spaced, i've seen this in 07 themes used in 08, so maybe that's what the problem is here(sorry i haven't read the whole thread as i can't right now). It sounds like your problem is consistent though, and just needs a couple of margin shifts.
i don't know if you already tried margin shifts, but i mentioned them anyways in the pm, so maybe it will work for you and if it does you can pass it on.

i just noticed this post.... i had the same problem until i changed moz-opacity to 1 and got rid of background: white in the tabextentions jar for the close button.
i did this(ignore margin shift, thats irrelevant for you)

Yes, wow you went into thorough detail man...Thanks, but what still puzzles me, is why it displays (Toolbar icons) correctly for some and not for others...
Trying to get involved with switching margins shouldn't be needed, although I may have no other choice, for I really like this theme...With my limited knowledge of such matters, I wanted to keep any 'tweaking with the .jar' to the simplest form!
Anyways, you did bring up an interesting point, in seeing this type of behavior/display when using a 0.7 theme (pre 20031120) API change with 0.8...as I have switched to my update of Mercnvert0.8, but it still has the 'b0rked' search bar...lol!
Lynch is slowly starting to update his themes, and making themes 0.7 compatible with 0.8 FireFox, is more involved then switching 'Widgets' to 'Bindings'...

I have posted a 'ss' of how Pinstripe is being displayed (Toolbar icons-having additional spaces) and received these replies from members @Mozillazine:
"It is the theme. The dropmarker on the Back button is rendered at the top. The same thing is happening with my Orbit Blue for Thunderbird. The dropmarker from cdn's Get All Messages is rendered at the top and the one on the print button isn't shown at all."
"It might be because you're using a trunk build and IIRC themes need some other adjustments, other than the ones necessary for FF0.8, to work on 0.8.0+ builds... but I can't remember what's exactly needed..."
And another reply:
"I think you need to disable Dropmarkers to do that put this code in to userChrome.css located in "....\application data\Phoenix\Profiles\YOURPROFILE\xxxxxxxx.slt\chrome"( if you dont have userchrome.css create one"

OK...here is another thread @Mozillazine, regarding 'spaced out toolbar icons'...
There are a couple of other issues, that I will make note of to 'point out' to the members porting it @Aqua-soft, but at least my issue with the 'abnormally spaced out' Toolbar icons is solved!

Alright...finally putting the above code by Sailfish, one of our valued themers @Mozillazine does the trick for me, so that my Toolbars icons are 'now' spaced properly! For those members who are having the same issues as my 'ss' displays, just open up Pinstripe (Classic.jar) in WinRAR, and navigate to: global\toolbarbutton.css--->then extract this to your desktop (or where ever you like), and then edited it in either WordPad or NotePad, and close it up...When you apply Pinstripe (Classic.jar) your toolbar icons will now be properly spaced...
Now with all this tweaking that I have been doing, with Pinstripe (Classic.jar) applied, goint to Tools--->Options--->Privacy--->To try to clear my cache...this Window is messed up...
So I will now create a new profile, and apply the theme (Pinstripe-Classic.jar) and see if this Privacy corruption is then corrected...Will first apply Compact Menu extension to the default Classic.jar, then close up FireFox and then apply Pinstripe (Classic.jar)...
Will report back on this same thread...

With all the effort put into this, it's not too difficult for the others to put that bit of time and attention to follow the very nicely done up tutorial by Magbi9, or is it? 
did i do something wrong or did i miss something because what i use tbe the tabs get all mesed up, can someone help me. i just cant figure it out. :banging:

Is 30 minutes so crucial? It didn't take me that long to get it exactly right, and that's including me --ing up Firefox and having to use IE to redownload a file.

It looks really good. ^^
It has the throbbers, the buttons, the size, the Bookmarks arrows... The little arrows on the URL box and the Google box. Looks really good actually. ^^

You need to download the latest version of TBE. Follow the link provided by the_funkymonkey earlier on.
When you install this new version, a new option will be available under tab browser extension options>misc>use another appearance for firefox under Mac OSX.

Mainly because of my laziness... but if i had time, I probably could and would finish up the job...
By the way... About the tutorial... I can't find the compact.jar they talk about in there...

I couldn't find it either. 
My guess is that it's probably installed there after you install a certain extension in Firefox. Could it be Compact Menu?

Install CompactMenu.
Close Firefox immediately.
Goto: X:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\Chrome\
Open compact.jar.

Also, here is a modified browser\pref\Options.png file. The order of the images in the original jar file was wrong (the downloads icon was being used for advanced, and everything else was shifted up by one), so that has been edited.

Wow, guys, I am completely enamored with this wonderful theme! NetRyder, I use your modified 'Options.png' and put it in Browser\pref\Options.png (of course, deleting the original) and now the Options panel icons are properly focused...

Guys, I do not have the keen technical knowledge to help out with the coding of the various files with the classic.jar, but the 'joint effort' that you guys have exhibited is quite refreshing...
Heck, I had an adventure just trying to upgrade Lynch's great mercnvert7 theme to be compatiable with FireFox0.8, but even after properly replacing all instances of 'widgets' with bindings' per the 20030920 API change, it still displays a b0rked 'search bar', so I know how how much effort was put into into this theme Ash...
Interestingly enough with stefanKa's cool PantherSnow VS, the Options--->Privacy Panel (like you mentioned NetRyder) does not display the '+' signs or have the aqua type buttons that PantherSnow displays (here) with other 0.8 themes...
Please keep up the wonderful dedicated efforts, so that we may all enjoy this really, cool theme!
P.S. This has been brought up on a Mozillazine thread that the reason that I was getting the 'abnormally spaced' toolbar icons was because of the 'Trunk build' that I am currently using: 20040211-02-GL6-SSE by stipe ...(Any Trunk builds even pre Firefox-after the 20030920 API change) were also displaying this effect-oh what the Devs can do...lol)
Of those members that had the same issue as me (displayed in my 'ss') a pg or two back, what build are/were you using when this issue occured...??
