[release] Firefox Pinstripe Theme

Originally posted by PlaysK@Feb 12 2004, 06:21 PM

Well, to change the background and use a brushed one

Go the official firefox tips&tricks at this page :

http://texturizer.net/firefox/tips.html#ap...olbarbackground

and copy the lines mentionned to the C:\documents ans settings\"userProfile"\Application Data\Phoenix\Profiles\"PhoenixProfileName"\xxxxxxxx.slt\Chrome\userchrome.css

The file does not exist but edit the userchrome-example.css and rename it to userchrome.css

Add the lines and replace the "background.gif" in

background-image: url("background.gif") !important;

by your own background image (don't forget to copy this image in the same folder where the userchrome.css is located)

I did that with Ash's 1st version without putting a bachground in its folder, and it took away the background along with the stripes (the desired effect)

But with the newer version, the background (and stripes) is still there (yuk) >.<

I see...  :lol:

Is this part of the plan for this modding here too? :naughty:

Well I think Ash should put these files in the updated classic.jar so everyone can have the correct looking Download Manager also. All I did was download the classic.jar rip that's available on the first page of this thread and copy the contents of skin\classic\mozapps\downloads into the same path of the current classic.jar, deleting the files that are in the current one first. Looks great although the animated gif progress bar doesn't work, only get default progress bar. :cry: As xp_2003 says the animated gif works after resuming a canceled download but I haven't seen that yet. If that's the case though, it shouldn't be too difficult to get it working on the original download. Anyone?

the status bar is to big, to fix that add this to the browser.css:

between "@namespace url(";http://www.mozilla.org/keymaster/gatekeeper/there.is.only.xul");"

&

"/* ::::: bookmark buttons ::::: */"

#status-bar {
min-height: 15px !important;

}

.progressmeter-statusbar {
min-height: 15px !important;

}

 /* align pixels on the sides of the window */
 toolbox, #content, #status-bar {
   border: none !important;
   }
 #urlbar {
   border-width: 1px !important;
   }

#PersonalToolbar {
 min-height: 23px;
}

Hmmm, didn't work for me, would I have to put this into downloads.css also or change some settings in that?

go into "classic\skin\classic\browser\browser.css" and add the code i posted before, between:

 * ***** END LICENSE BLOCK ***** */

@import url("chrome://global/skin/");

@namespace url("http://www.mozilla.org/keymaster/gatekeeper/there.is.only.xul");

and

/* ::::: bookmark buttons ::::: */

BTW, this has nothing to do with the download manager!!

That's what I did, but are we talking about the same thing here? I'm trying to get the animated progress bar in the download manager to work, this didn't do anything to that... :(

I'm going to start work on the download manager soon, the resources included in the original jar are amazing, it even includes the aminated download progress bar (as attached)

Just went back to previous posts to find this... so perhaps we can wait on for something nice to come along. ;)

@Max Power: Let's wait patiently together, ya? ^_^

Well you didn't quote anybody, and your post was right after mine, and I don't remember anyone asking about the status bar, so I jumped the gun and assumed it pertained to the progress bar. If someone had asked about the status bar you should have quoted them with your post, yes?

Yes, I saw that post, but was hoping someone else had made some headway on it since so many people are contributing....

You have to install the extension before anything.

#114488

Oh for god sake, READ THE THREAD!!

That happens when you install CompactMenu whilst having the Pinstripe theme in use. You have to use the default classic.jar, install and then restore to Pinstripe.

As has been said.

I really am getting sick of this.

You know I love you es.xxi, but you should be used to the same question being asked multiple times in one thread. I've been here for awhile and see it in everythread... rather than getting mad at it, I just answer the question and roll my eyes.

I think their should be a rating system on threads... what I mean by that is if a reply is very valuable to the refering thread it should be pinned inside the thread or have an option to view only the valuable part of th thread. I don't know if it's practical but i think it would be rather cool.

1. Try checking your spelling and grammer. Nothing says "annoyance" like typing things out like a 12 year old.

2. If you had read the tutorial, and followed it, then you wouldn't of had problems. You obviously didn't read it, or other posts because people afterwards told that the extension needed to be done first. Hence the movement of the step.

3. In three threads now you have been assing off and not reading things that people have already said and/or already said how to prevent/fix. And it's annoying.

4. I am not “rud all the time”. If you checked 99% of my posts are friendly and helpful. I've only ever shouted off two or three times, including now.

Now try replying and pull your head out of your ass.

#114493

ENOUGH! stop the damn fighting. I will bust the 8th plague on your asses. I wish I was a mod becuase if i was all this "flaming" would be out of here.

Love one another.

#114496

i think in that flurry of posts there, mine got overlooked... i'm just bumping it even though it hasn't been that long... i just don't want it to be forgotten ;)
