[release] Firefox Pinstripe Theme

Just got the Pinstripe theme resources from the Mac version of Firebird and I've just fixed up a quick port of it for the Windows version (see screenie), all with original PNG's.

I'll release the theme file from the Mac version but it wont work with Firebird for Win.

It will require some tweaking of the config files in it but eventually you can get a exact replica (apart from the scrollbars, fonts etc...)

EDIT - 24th Feb 04

*Updated the pinstripe background to match exactly like the Mac version, people releasing their own versions please update the pinstripe.png within this classic.jar to your builds since the pinstripe.png in olderbuilds was a temp image.

*Updated some of the code with the help from members from this board, the bookmarks folder icon is now fixed.

*And thanks go to magbi9 for fixing the bottom tab image, the download manager buttons and implimenting the address bar skinning.

New Firefox pinstipe resources (direct rip, to be used for resources only)

Would be nice to see everyone contributing to the conversaion of this nice theme since I'm not that upto date on some of the code controls.

Ash

Edit: Updated the Firebird pinstripe resources with the one from Firefox, some good changes in there especually to the download manager, has the animated download bar.

The icons in that last theme are lynchknot's macaqua blue, I believe. If you search for lynchknot on the forums here, I'm sure you'll find his site if you don't already know about it.

Is this for the 0.7 milestone? I'm running one of the latest nightlies, and when I try to install, it doesn't register as a valid theme.

Can you make it compatible with the latest branch nightlies? Should be worth it, 0.7 is about to become obselete.

I've been v busy, thats why I gave out the original theme from OS X for people to port themselvs and have a mess with it.

I'll try and work on it when I have some free time.

What I did was to open a ini file from both version, the windows classic theme and the mac classic theme and gradually copy code from the mac version to the windows one, we need someone on this board with knowledge of the themeing code to like do a good port.

The code is there it just needs reviwewing to work with Win Firebird standards, as I demonstrated

yeah well I came that far too... try changing the background behind the tabs, bookmarks in the bookmark barr without the icons, and folders only with an arrow and using the right tabs... <_<

Don't know how to do all of those things in Firebird >.<

I want to show a fast ss of my port of Pinstripe Firefox to Opera. It's not finished yet, but I dont have any permissions so it'll be for personal use. I think it looks really well, What do you think?

All the things that are not a perfect emulation are limitations of Opera.

i made this taking screenshots from this page http://kmgerich.com/archive/000049.html

Can someone post the original OS X firefox icon here?

Just wondering...is it actually okay to port the Pinstripe theme to Windows and make a public release, or would Apple's legal department jump onto the themer as soon as the theme made it into the open?

Why would Apple care about a Firebird theme when it doen't care about the Mac themes that we port? Or is this originally a Safari theme? Either way...
