[release] Firefox Pinstripe Theme
Originally posted by tarheel@Feb 23 2004, 08:14 PMWhat should I be doing to change my title bar from the xp default to a mac-like one?
I think I might have missed a step.
it depends whether you want to use the fast way that puts the buttons on the right site and doesn't skin the menu or the slow way that does everything but it displaces the text on puttons when you push them... windowblinds.net is a bit slow but it does everything (and has a free demo that displays ads and doesn't let you do everything) and stylexp (i forget the link. use google) hacks a file so you can use msstyles not made by m$. i suggest if you want to use msstyles you get the hack on the stylexp website. it is easy to do and the paid version is not much more than a non-display properties interface.

I don't have compact.rar , what happen?
he said compact.JAR not RAR! a .jar file is a zip file. you can open it in winrar because it supports zip. if you didn't get the compact menu extension, though you won't have compact.jar.
how do change the spacing of on the bookmark toolbar (or what part of the browser.css do i need to change)
i want to change the spacing so all my folders on the bookmark toolbar are closer together
It won't let me replace the sharc png when I try to it gives me an error like "Can't rename compact.jar blah blah blah"

I downloaded the classic.jar file and then used the install feature at:
http://texturizer.net/firefox/themes/
It says it has installed the theme and i must restart firefox before i can use it.
After i restart firefox and then goto tools, options, themes the theme isnt there.
Im using the latest full build not one of the nightly builds. Anyone got any ideas what could be causing this ?
You don't install it, you replace the classic.jar in the chrome folder of your Firefox directory.
Using remote installers on websites borks the theme. So does installing extensions such as Themer after Classic.jar has been replaced, which is why its always a good idea to keep backups when you're installing this theme.
Well, I spliced some of aquarius's Safari code into my userChrome.css file, and now the throbber in the tab is functional even with TBE enabled, so now the only bugs I'd like fixed are the search icon (its 1px too high), and maybe someone should make a throbber which looks less fugly on a dark grey background.
Is this skin going to be updated?

What code did you splice in to get the throbber to work with TBE?
Why was the Google bar moved to right next to the side of the window? It both looked much better with a space in between and is the way the pinstripe theme looks on a mac.
Is there any way to change this back, or how do i edit it myself?

Easy, just open the customize dialog and drag a seperator to the right side.
I've tried that, but the seperator makes the space much too large. It used to be a few pixels over in theme, and when i downloaded the updated one i noticed the change, which I don't think is for the better (in my humble opinion).

Here's the OSX version and I think the search bar seems much better spaced from the edge of the window.

YES. i also have problem for Google bar
A while ago I tried and updated Ash's/Magbi9's skin with the animated download progress bar. Unfortunately, I didn't write down what I changed - thus I supply the updated classic.jar ![]()

You'll have to settle for a SS on here... Remember, this is Pinstripe, with TBE enabled and functioning.
Works flawlessly. Excellent job. Thanks!

Nice, thanks! ![]()
Sooooo... Who's good with CSS code here? I'm adding some more stuff from aquarius's Safari theme, and have run into a problem with the highlights on Search and Location bars.
Here's the screenshot of the problem... Need to fix the favicon and the right border. The search bar is, for the most part, good to go though.

Any chance for a cutemenu theme to go along with it?
TO ALL THEMERS:
There has been a NEW BUTTON added for FIREFOX, directly linking to your EMAIL. "Mail Integration UI. Adds "Mail" button to toolbar palette, with a submenu providing convenient access to mail, newsgroups. Adds Ctrl+M to compose new message."
Was wondering if this button will be added to the Pinstripe themes???
@Relativity_17: I think some of the control used in the safari theme for highlight stuff is in the userCrome.css file as part of the million things you have to do to grt his safari theme to work.
I could be wrong though. I think it could be coded into the theme without usercrome.
@tigbus: Is that mail thing an extention or part of a nightly build, or what? I guess I'll go to the site and find out. (duh)
