lynchknot: What's skin your posted ? it looks very nice. can u give me a download link?

#143092

I'm just experimenting because none of the Pinstripe ports have a pinstripe background.

#143095

The pinstripes are meant to be subtle. The current port pretty much looks exactly like the original OS X version:

However, your version is beautiful, Lynchknot... I can't wait for the possible release... it will definitely be put to use by me.

#143116

Subtle? If you have to zoom in this far to see any hint of pinstripe, you might as well not incude it. Subtle is one thing but this is stupid.

Lynch, your theme looks great. :)

I was just stating that the current version of the theme was designed to look exactly like the version Kevin Gerich made for OS X, that's all. Please don't take it in the wrong sense.

#143127

I'm not and it's not my theme. I'm just experimenting with it. I just think it's beyond subtle - you might as well just use #color if you can't even see the pinstipe. Maybe it's meant to be subliminal - :lol:

#143129

Lynch,

I like that look, and would give it a go...

I see how the spacing on the 'favicon' in the square URL text box is perfect, with my latest version of GotMilk-square URL, the favicon is more to the right----->next to the http:// xxxxx.xxxx.com text

Where would I need to go with \global (probably) to change this so that the 'favicon' is more centered??

:rolleyes:

#143131

Lynch I hope your version of pinstripe is less laggy then the one posted on the 1st page of this thread. The efficiency of the interface on that one (classic.jar based) is horrendous. Just try maximizing/minimizing the Firefox window--it may take a few minutes :(

Your saf8 skin and its siblings don't have this problem, so would i be safe to assume that your version of pinstripes will also be as stream-lined? (excluding that i already replace the tree.css in all of your builds :) )

#143135

G - download again. I think I fixed it - don't remember though.

I usually try to use less/smaller/no images in files - to decrease lag.

#143137

Hey Lynch,

Thanks man, as the GotMilk 'square URL version', the favicon is now perfectly spaced in the URL text box...You also adjusted the tabs to be now off the Milkish coloured bar and it looks good!

Only two things that i have noticed is the Tabclose button on the far right of this Milkish coloured bar (is there if you have TBE or not-main close button) is sort of small & oval shaped, rather then round, like the TBE Tabclose buttons...

Maybe you did this by design...

Also, in the Options---->Privacy window, there are now two sets of Milk buttons, one on the right--->of History, Cookies, Cache, ect----->with clear---->this is correct

But I also have a set of buttons (with no clear text) on the left? I will get up a 'ss' of both of these, and post it in the GotMilk thread...

#143144

You people and your dam close button fetish. I don't use the close button and I don't even display it. If you have TBE you can program for double click, middle click, or control click - doesn't that make sense to not take up space for a relatively ugly button?

I'll check it and fix........sheesh, dam pod people........... :6

*edit - I don't support text and tabs - never have, never will. I mean, that's what icons are for - to replace text with a picture.

#143149

lol, not the actual TBE Tabclose buttons (within the tabs)...these are fine!

It is the Main Tab Close button to the far right...this button is in all themes, even if you do NOT have TBE installed...this button is small & oval shaped?? Maybe you designed it this way to give it a different look from the Tabclose buttons within the tabs (TBE)

Also in this 'ss' you can see the duplicate buttons in----->Options---->Privacy

milk.jpg

***********EDIT**********

I just went into my profile-->GotMilk.jar\browser\close.png and this imagine is completely differently from the little squished, oval button---->that is shown above...

If you want to get all 'defensive & hostile' again, that's fine because I know how you (at times) react, then 'direct your comments' to moi, but not other members (like NetRyder) who was only making a legitimate, ***kindly stated*** point...

<_<

Lynchnot exploded in regards to the tab close button because he has said time and time again that he does not support them or use them. He has stated this at least a dozen times, maybe even more. Get it through your thick skull: he does not support the tab close buttons! Stop bringing them up before you piss him off and he stops developing themes again. You constantly nit pick over every little minescule detail, sheesh- you are worse than an old lady. Lynchnot's themes are pretty damn close to perfection, haven't you ever heard of leaving well enough alone? It seems like every time he tries to fix some minor detail of yours, it seems to screw something else up in the process. What do yopu have, Obcessive Compulsive Disorder? If so, maybe you should increase your dose of Paxil?

Lynch- keep up the good work and don't let the NooBs get to you.

Hello foxmodders :) Can you explain me something

/* ::::: twisty :::::  */

treechildren::-moz-tree-twisty {
/*  -moz-appearance: treetwisty; */
 padding-right: 2px;
 width: 10px; /* The image's width is 10 pixels */
 list-style-image: url("chrome://global/skin/menu/menu-arrow.gif");
}

treechildren::-moz-tree-twisty(open) {
/*  -moz-appearance: treetwistyopen; */
 width: 10px; /* The image's width is 10 pixels */
 list-style-image: url("chrome://global/skin/menu/menu-arrow-down.gif");
}

Ok, this is from tree.css. I'm interesting in this line of code: /* -moz-appearance: treetwistyopen; */

What does it mean? if i comment it than bookmark sidebar works fine (it's about downarrows when expand item...) But if uncomment there only arrow_to_the_left...

PS

@lynchknot, is it possible to d/l your pinstripe variant? :rolleyes:

lol...oh I see. I have known Lynch now for going on 8-9 months, in fact it was he who was very patient with my questions regarding the entire Pheonix/Firebird/ deal...

In fact we IM ( his favourite option) at times about a lot of Firebird details...

Yes, I am a perfectionist that has been very successful in my line of work, and having another pissin contest with another member, (I have have no idea who you even are) , I can spend my time better off watching the stars...lol!

There is nothing wrong with OCD's. :lol:

I have tons of pet-pieves and im practically normal.

There was no reason to attack G like that. Let lynch get mad at him first before making any outburst but, I highly doubt Lynchy will ever get mad, he's too much of a teddy bear. :canadian:

#143288

He does have a point - I tend to have to make statements over and over again. But it seems many do not even hear me.

Nit picking does get irritating though, especially when spending hours fixing something and it's good but it's still not "podpeople-perfect"

How about you come over to wash my car for free and I tell you a dozen times that you missed a spot - :D

I guess I need to use more smilies at times :D or the pod-people may feel offended. :rolleyes:

*edit - problem found in dialog.css for options panel

#143289

Thank you Josh...yes, I am what my very successful business associates would term at times having an obsession to detail, and yes this character trait should not be used to judge the great work that 'theme genie' does.

Heck if it were not for Lynch's skins, I would probably not be using a Mozilla browser...simple as that.

Well it's off to the RX, to pick up my medicines...but I'll make sure that I park my high 'five figured-$$$' mode of transportation first, and take a taxi, lol!

Cheers...

:woot: ;)

#143312

care to wash my low 4 fiqure car for free? :D - after you take your meds , of course.

#143327

instead of telling someone to fix it.. you can always edit and change the code so it works then submit the code so then everyone is happy..
