I know that some of you modified you file and folder setting to use NeXplorer to replace explorer as your defult file manager, and when you tried to restore it, you jacked eveything up...(trust me, Ive tried to do this myself quite a few times and have never been succsefull). I would delete the three reg keys before you merge the new ones, so it's clean...(but that's what I did.)
This reg file is from a clean, uncustomized, winxp setup.

So can you tell me exactly what I'm suppose to do, I'm pretty much lost. Can you make it a .reg file that automatically goes and odes what it suppose to do?

I found another bug... it seems like long skins names like
smooth stripes 2 gloss graphite cause a runtime error and force nexplorer to quit. Everytime I tried to select this skin, nexplorer quits. I changed the name to smooth stripes2 graphite and it works fine. Strange.

The registry text file in your first post contains some unnecessary information.
Not everyone will have Norton Antivirus or Alcohol installed, so any references to them are unneeded.
Context menu handlers are placed in the shellex key when programs are installed. Other items you may see there include archiving programs(WinZip, WinRAR) or FTP clients(WS_FTP).
New version 1.8 is up now.
I tried to add many features in a short amount of time so it might be quite buggy and slow.
The new Features include:
1. Navigation in column browsing mode with cursor keys.
Right and left cursor keys make you jump from one panel to the next panel.
2. Skinning independent of Msstyle or Windowblinds
It's experimental and it will become compatible with AV's skinning engine
in the next update (Thanks AV)
3. iTune style searching - experimental and works only in a folder
For windows style searching , use right-click menu.
4. You can change the icon spacing of the browser
5. Show/ Hide hidden files
6. You can add more labels. The only thing you have to do is to make text.ini, which is an ini file for text color.

There were issues with the upgrade version so I took it off . Please back up shortcut part of your registry keys and do clean install and then run the backed up registry file.
****Know issues***
- While being rolled up , the window flickers a lot.
- Switching between different views is somewhat slow
- When you first switch to column view, the bottom scrollbar disappears.
I have included only the default brushed skin because I didn't have time to make other skins. Skinning should be straightforward but if you have any question don't hesitate to ask me.
I just installed the upgrade and I can't seem to resize the window.. the bottom border isn't showing. (Do you need a screenshot?)
Edit: Bugs taken out... these appear to be the result of the upgrade install not working correctly.
I cant seem to get anything to show... the window shows up with mmsstyles but just one big blank whtie nothing in the center
edit: i got it to work by running the actual exe, the shortcut on the desktop gives me this error

Bug: Text labels for items with color labels are bolder than everything else.
Bug2: Font weight defaults to whatever is listed as the top style (as in Regular, Bold, Italic, etc). My Lucida Grande lists Bold on top and even if I choose Regular, after closing and reopening NeXplorer, the font is still Bold.
Only the bottom borders? Strange...

HKCU\\SOFTWARE\\NEXPLORER1.5\\Install Dir\\ has the right value.

If you have a problem with the upgrade version, uninstall cleanly and delete all registry keys under HK_Current_USER\\Software\\Nexplorer1.5 and clean up the old directory.
Then, try the new user version
okay thanks i did that.. it works now, sorta, i get teh same problem, only the bottom border shows up and sucks all of my CPU.. so i had to end the processes

Interesting, it looks like I'm only getting that bolding problem with Lucide Grande (True Type version). I wonder if it's because that font seems to list Bold as the top font weight instead of Normal.

interestingly, I deleted the reg key and my nexplorer directory (backed everything up of course.. .then did the reinstall and it works prefect.

Visual Styles are still skinning the window frame on my one, everything else is working fine.
Quick note about the missing bottom of the frame. If you drag the seperator you'll see the higlight runs off the bottom of the window. See screenshot

Btw, is this supposed to have a inactive transparency effect? Pretty cool if so...
Edit: I'm fairly certain something is wrong with the upgrade... The skin now looks totally different. I think the exe was the old one or something... or partially old partially new. You might want to recommend that people back up the Nexplorer registry keys, then edit the reg file to delete all the other stuff except things that are for shortcucts, then uninstall NeXplorer, delete the registry entries. Install the fresh version, then merge the backed up registry.
Bug: Titlebar font isn't the same size as the selected font.

Please export all the registry keys under HKCU\\Software\\Nexplorer1.5\\Shortcuts\\
to a .reg file and delete all the keys related to Nexplorer.
Clean up the old directory before installation and start installation.
After installation , if you want to get back the previous shortcuts , just run the exported .reg file.
Tell me if you still have problems after clean installation.
Neither installer seems to replace the nexplorer.msi file before installing. It reinstalls the old version if the reg setting is still there.
I just deleted that and that was all and it installed properly. However, there may be other side effects caused by the old settings as the rollup button just hides the toolbar.
Edit: I don't have the shortcuts after install even though they are still in the registry ???
