I just wanted to say, "Damn fine job", on the Finder clone, and throw a couple of screenshots up.
These are all 1920x1200 res, but I have a jpg compression app so the sizes are quite small.

Can't believe post got ignored again. I'm currently working on my SmoothStripes (Black Panther) Skin for NeXplorer, would love to add labels with it.
I also have had the CD, DVD bug happen, otherwise, no more bugs to report this end.

Note to people using the file types trick to force it to use NeXplorer. Although this trick works, if you ever are forced to use normal explorer it's going to be a nightmare to navigate as you can't switch it back by replacing the NeXplorer location with the Explorer location... You will be doomed to use right click, or find the registry hack that resets the folders.

if you need to delete what you have added
run regedit and the settings are under the tab hkey_classes_root Just look for "drive"
"folder" and "file folder" then click the arrow until you see "shell" click that and you will see what you have added. for example "nexplorer" You can edit or delete from here.
Yeah, I found out after I reinstalled everything when I was using another explorer replacement ages ago. I just couldn't remember the fix, so i thought it best to warn people about it.

Why not use "WinKey + E" to open Explorer... go into Tools, Folder Option and deleting it from there??

Looca? how about getting the correct thread!
Unless you did actually mean Nexplorer in which case you need to have a .png called folder in your root directory which Nexp' will use to replace the horrible yellow folder - but as default you should have a blue one anyway

Seriously, I would actually advise against doing this at all - replacing Windows Explorer with a beta program. While the development of the program is coming along, there still remains issues from I am reading in the posts.
I think its common sense to just test beta programs, while they are beta. Until the first actual release of the program that is considered no longer beta testing stage.
I personally feel none of the finder clones available are really ready for a TRUE Explorer replacement. I use this app on testing its features and abilities and see what it can't do compared to WinExplorer. I agree it would be nice to be able to toss a side Windows Explorer for a new application that does it better etc.

I see that at some point, the releases don't support Windoze 2000 anymore.
However, backward compatibility can be reintroduced if you'd care to
drop usage of the SHParseDisplayName() function; I think it can be replaced with
a few lines of code for getting an IShellFolder interface pointer for a given path
and (optionally) calling GetAttributesOf on that interface. I know I've seen it
somewhere in conjunction to SHBrowseForFolder()...

SHParseDisaplyName is not a big problem. I don't think I used the funtion many times (probably about 2 places where I was lazy) Most of the times I used IShellFolder::ParseDisplayName() cause my listview retains PIDL and IShellfolder* as LPARAMS of items.
The bigger problem is that I used LVS_EX_DOUBLEBUFFER style for listviews to remove flickering and it's simply much more convenient than coding the whole double buffering myself. (Do you know of any good double buffered listview class library?)

It's stored in registry .
The key is HKEY_CURRENT_USER\\SOFTWARE\\Nexplore1.5\\shortcuts\\shortcut(number)\\ nSplitter. Change the value from 0 to 1.
Right now, only one separator is allowed.
In the updated version to be released, users cannot delete separators accidentally.

Hey, thanks for finding that.
I know of the bug and it happens only when there are multiple lines in the file name and it is trimmed by the listview.
It is a bug of microsoft double buffer listview control.
There's no easy way of fixing it unless I make my own double buffer listview control .

Unfortunately I don't know of any implementation yet.
I'll have a look at the usual places.
I had Bjarke Viksoe's Outlook Style Listview double buffered once,
but I think ListViews is more complicated. But since you draw labels
underfoot, you already do a lot of custom draw, so why not handle
WM_ONERASEBACKGROUND yourself?
