when 1.8 is working good for me in startup time wise, i will port my AvePreview engine skins over to nexplorer. I have quite alot, but one is a longhorn skin, and it has a thicker titlebar and biiger glyphs then any other skin. I noticed i wont be able to do this in nextplorer, unless yo uadd a width option for the top border stuff, ask AndreasV, he can help, i was talking to him earlier today about it.
but if that takes you out of your way dont worry about it!

you can do this with nexplorer. The width option is in the ini file....

I have a big request for the skinning engine. I need to be able to stretch the side bars just like the background. My tiskin is not complete because the background has a gradeint affect applied and if I do the same to the sidebars they dont match because they can not be stretched...

Oh and one more thing... when I tried to change the text color for the title bar and status bar to white on my simplex skin it didnt seem to work.

I am going to release 1.85 soon.
I will open a new topic for it per your request.
The new version will NOT have the transparency thing. I guess it uses system resources and slows down the app unnecessarily.
One big change is I removed "system registry" settings. NeXplorer will use nexplorer.ini from now on except for installation directory ( it should be registered in registry).
Sorry that you guys have to make shortcuts all over again but it will be like this permanently unless I introduce XML based settings (I have a test version doing it). I guess most of you guys are more comfortable with .ini files than registry.
It will be released some time today or tomorrow

Probabaly not in this version
It doesn't require a lot of new coding but I have to do quite a lot of copy and paste job and Saturday is probablly not a good day for it

as you can see, when it is inactive state, the top bar which is now thicker (topwidth=57) it moves down like so. Also the left side corner does not attache right theres a huge gap, and on the veryyy far right corner, there seems to be some piece showing at the end, its not like that in the image yet it shows. So if anyone can help me maybe know why this is it, or if its jsut a bug?

Bolero, please wait till I release 1.85 . The skinning engine in 1.8 was a little unstable so you may get unexpected error here and there. I think( hope ?) 1.85 got more stable .
vneuman, 1.8 can't show dwg (autocad) previews anymore, why?

not very important, but...
in every mode of browing...
we can select item by arrow key...
but can't enter a folder or open a file by pressing "ENTER" (only double click works)
now, when i put the cursor over an icon (specially a PNG or JPG one) it disappear ..... then i click on it, and it appear again :S the others like a folder are ok. but it happens with those :S
any way this app is just Lovelly .. :cry:

He knows about this. I reported this bug a while back (check page 9 or so maybe of this thread)
it would be a great idea if this app could search for the highlight.png and such in the skin folder selected, so you can change the folder, the arrows, and the highlight selection could change accordingly with the skin.
what do you think?

Just use windows search by choosing a drive and right click - search in Nexplorer.

It's not just any png or jpg. It happens to files with long names that the windows listview chooses to cut off. And when the mouse is over them, the whole name is shown in a stupid tooltip box thereby erasing the icon. I haven't found a documentation about the tooltip box, but if I find it it will be eliminated.

Doing it that way requires copying and pastng many lines and I'm just too lazy .
I may change it like that ( or not ....)
i love this great application, but there is a little probs when i using it
- i can't open any of the control panel files in nexplorer.
- the icon text disappear everytime i scroll up (just happen to the icon that disappear/going up when u scroll down)
that all for now, can't wait for the next release!

Looks like you are having some issues with image sizes not matching up with the skin.ini.
It is important to know that you can NOT save the skin.ini with any changed values when you have the skin you are working on open. If you save while the skin is open that it will clear the values when you close it. So you may think you are editing things in the skin.ini but they arent really changing. You may already noticed this but...
Thought I would try and help. If you want to send me what you have done so far I can take a look at it and see if I can figure it out.

Wow, for the 1.8 beta u even got an setup / installation program. I'm impressed.
nice, i got it to work, and the search / labels, even the 3 panel scrolling works, this app has come a really far way, u are my finder lord.
