WCC beta 9 new features to test:
1) mouse hover (back again)
2) new tooltip (will show current volume / mouse wheel...)
3) notifier can be placed at left or right of the case too (Options>Notifier)
4) when mouse is hovered over WCC it will get focus so it will be easier to change the volume
All new features could not be added after all. It's just a test...

Installed the new beta9 but this feature does not seem to work. When I am typing in a browser such as this, and part of the WCC is poking out from behind... I hover the mouse over WCC and i see the "tooltip" volume 80% but scrolling with the middle mouse does not alter the volume currently. Did i misinterpret how it is supposed to funtion? I really like your tooltip with the volume state though!!
Also, is there any way to adjust the sensitivity of the volume scrolling... I really need to crank the wheel currently. I know you can adjust the scroll sensitivity through windows control panel, but I really do not want to globally make the mouse too sensitive as i use the middle mouse for other things. It would really be nice if you could add scroll sensitivity as a configurable option. I really have to agree with Natedogg... this program is really one of my favorites and growing day by day!

If a part of WCC is poking out from behind a browser window, hovering the mouse over WCC should bring it to foreground (the entire WCC became visible).
Next time, hover your mouse over WCC (the part that is visible) and wait a few seconds untill WCC is fully visible. Then try to change the volume.
Can you change the volume when WCC is focused?
Are you using Winamp or foobar2000?

When I hover the mouse over WCC it does not come to focus above the browser window. I will need to confirm this but I think that hovering for a few moments indeed does not bring wcc to the front. I will see if i can test out this new version here on my laptop in a few minutes. Oh, and i am using wcc with winamp. Question, are all the capabilities of wcc available for use with foobar, or are there some limitations?

I had a chance to test out yesterday's build on my laptop and indeed the focus feature worked wonderfully. I would hover the mouse over wcc and it would come to the front (above my browser) and volume control would function.
I wonder why it didn't work on my home machine.. perhaps yesterday's build fixed something... either that or my home machine has issues... (i hope not since I keep that machine immaculate and only istall the best of the best on it... hence wcc )
Was the speech feature incorporated into the new build?! I tried the test.exe that you sent me but sadly, no sound (and i did restart my computer and installed the microsoft .dlls) I'm going to check out the new build and see if the speach feature's there now. Thanks for everything.
P.S. just out of curiosity (even if you do not add this feature.) Is it even possible to control the sensitivity of the mouse wheel for volume control? Or is that pretty impossible. *crosses fingers*

I think you have to install SAPI 4.0 and one of the "Text-to-speech engines". Not only SAPI!

I will try the speech .exe again, thanks for the link. Just to confirm, is the SAPI 4.0 runtime all i need? Or do i need the previous linked dlls together as well?
EDIT: I just realized that the link you provided in both posts are for the same runtimes... I did infact install the SAPI 4.0 runtime support and restarted my computer, (home PC) but that did not work... I checked my volume settings for wav etc... all is in order. I will try again on my laptop and see if i get better results

You need SAPI 4.0 (that you've already installed) AND one of the "Text-to-speech engines" (same link)!

just out of curiosity, why does the Konfab widget that i mentioned in my previous posts, work without these additional installations? I do not mind installing these agents but does this approach here, provide better capabilities etc. or something?
Konfab has its own text-to-speech engine (or use a third party one).
Babylon uses MS text-to-speech engine too.
MS TTS is a great tool! Once you have installed all files it will work fine!

The main feature is that WCC can follow Winamp window state (minimize, restore, exit).
E.g. if you minimize Winamp WCC will be minimized too. If you restore it... If you exit it...
To test the new feature go to "Options>Player" and check "Follow player window state".
