Hey carlos i just wanted to thank you for your hard work ..this is another great release. However i am having some problems. I use the hover function for my notifier. My problem is that if i leave the mouse on the cd the notifier just blinks perpetually and i cant even right click to get to the options menu to turn off the hover function. Also i'v recently started using a dual monitor setup here and winamp cd acts a little funky with it ..it moves around when i start winamp ... not much buut it doesnt stay in the same spot as it used to. This may be a problem on my end ... i'll try to figure it out.
One other thing ... when i leave the mouse on top of the cd case i can see volume: 50 %... i scroll the mouse wheel so that it will go up to 100 % but it still shows volume: 50 %. Hope this helps.
Thanks alot carlos
For now try not to use the hover feature...
Regarding dual monitor: try to uncheck Magnetic border (Options>General).
Try to single click the case then scroll the mouse... For some unknown reason, place the mouse over the case does not focus WCC (but just in some systems...).
Seems like it works!![]()

You can use mp3DirectCut to cut your mp3 and then send me just a really small part (20KB)...
But you can also try to remake your ID3v2...
firecracker6 and Aworldapart,
You have reported the same issue regarding move the mouse over WCC and not getting properly focus.
This is not a WCC issue or bug but a system setting.
You have to change the "ForegroundLockTimeout" value.
The article below shows how to do it:
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=886217
In resume:
1. Click Start, click Run, type regedit in the Open box, and then click OK.
2. In Registry Editor, locate and then click the following registry subkey:
HKEY_CURRENT_USERControl PanelDesktop
3. In the right pane, locate and then double-click ForegroundLockTimeout.
4. Under Base, click Decimal, type 0 in the Value data box, and then click OK.
Note The default decimal value for the ForegroundLockTimeout registry entry is set as 200000.
5. Quit Registry Editor.
6. Restart your computer.
That's it! After restart the computer the focus should work fine!
Thanks Carlospr, for the info, works like a charm ![]()
Do you have any idea as to why or how our PC's adopted these settings in the first place? The impression I get is that most other's PCs have the "ForegroundLockTimeout" value set to cooperate with WCC, so are there other apps out there that require it to be set another way? What is the designed function of our current configured setting? Just curious.. I'll read the article now and see if it sheds some light, cheers.
EDIT: Correct me if I am wrong, but it seems that you can accomplish the same solution using TweakUI:
Use the Tweak UI utilityTo resolve this issue, use the Microsoft Tweak UI utility to change the default windows settings. To do this, follow the steps for your operating system:
Windows XP and Windows Server 2003
1. Click Start, point to All Programs, point to Powertoys for Windows XP, and then click Tweak UI.
2. Expand General, and then click Focus.
3. Click to clear the Prevent applications from stealing focus check box, and then click OK.
P.S. Carlospr, I love how WCC takes significantly less time to unload from the system when closing winamp with this new release! Great work.
The XP default value is 20000 (which is not good for WCC).
However, some softwares change this value to 0 (which is nice for WCC) when they are installed.
That's why WCC works fine with some systems and others doesn't...
WCC won't never change this, since its a system setting. That's the policy: don't mess with system settings!
Hi Carlospr,
first of all Thank You !!! for this really nice piece of software.
Now my search for a good CoverArt proggy is finally over!
But, I have some feature suggestions / requests ;-)
What i would REALLY like the program to be able to do:
Be "Magnetic" to any part of the winamp windows, just like winamps own playlist window for example.
That would make the program perfect for me.
Another idea would be : Only let the window popup, when you double click on the song title in the main winamp window to view the songs id tag information.
Maybe both features in combination ...
Also i am having some small problems with cover art not displaying when read from id3v2tag.
I usually have no cover.jpg or folder.jpg, i prefer having the pictures in the tag.
FYI - I never used another program for tagging besides Tag&Rename ...
Most of the covers are displayed, some of them are not.
What makes it extra weird is, the files were ALL tagged with the same version of tag&rename ;-)
Greetings from germany
Andreas
Hi Carlospr, its me again.
Sorry, but i was definetly wrong. Cover Art written to ID3V2 with Tag&Rename 3.2rc2 is NOT read at all.
I hope you can fix this. *sniff*
Andreas
Andreas,
This is not the first issue with Tag&Rename... I'm not sure what's going on, but I'll take look at...
Thank you for your feedback!
Hi Carlospr!
I wanted to also thank you for your great app! : ) Also, I noticed the following, which I hope will be helpful to you:
(These are with the latest Aug 5 release)
1. It sometimes dowloads covers from the internet, sometimes doesn't!
2. It sometimes fails to load up a cover from the song's folder. (usually helps to go to Options and click Apply. It refreshes and finds the image)
3. Similar to 2, sometimes when I click on a new song to play, it still shows the cover for the previous song.
4. Again, similar to 2,3; if a song has no cover, it sometimes shows the previous song's cover.
5. I get an error message when the cover is stored in the file. (id3 tag)
6. If I play a song which has an album name, then play one which doesn't have an album name, then the notifier still displays the old album name.
Maybe this is something that I do wrong in my part, maybe you could tell me! And the fact that it 'sometimes' happens, makes it a bit confusing for me!
Again, thank you!
Carlos..........this is a VERY DUMB question but just to make sure rather than create a headache for myself in downloading Beta9....do I uninstall the version I am currently using and then run the install package or do I just run the install and that will override the previous version of WCC? Thanks a lot and my friends all LOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE you app....more are on the way in fact!
New beta 10 build (15 Aug 2005):
- ID3v2 tags read improvements

Just copy the new "CD Case.exe" into WCC's folder. Don't uninstall beta 9!!

Carlospr - I thought you'd ignored my comments! But I was wrong... I downloaded Beta 10, and the problem with album names is gone: displays Unknow which is good! It also gets the correct covers now! (although, I changed the settings for that in options too!) Well, thanks for listening to my comments and thanks for the update! ![]()
Great program guys, works prfectly. ![]()
A cool idea for a new feature would be to let you automatically set the album art as a display picture / avatar in instant messaging apps. That'd be cool. ![]()
Anyway, thanks for such a great app. ![]()
Here are some new winamp cd case skin i found at DA---check it out guys:

Bug to report in beta 10... I think. Whenver I use my mouse's scroll wheel over it, it crashes.
No, I've been using foobar2000 but I thought that might be my problem so I tested and it did the same thing with winamp, and with neither of them running.
I'll take a look... Thanks!
i have a problem with the skins, when i switch to case skin de albumart apears detached from the case ( like 2 windows one in back of the other...)
