Hey Landvermesser I'm using ur app for a week now and I coudn't find a way to remove tray icon! I just don't know what should I do! I've unmarked "show tray icon" but every time I'm starting my pc it apears in tray. Could u or somone else halp me out with this??
Hide you an icon with the menu item or by means of the Menu Editor? You should deselect " Show tray icon " on tab "Options" the Menu Editor and press OK. If it does not help, try to change manually in the file Finderbar_Engine.ini the value "ShowTrayIcon" and set it =0

OK, I've searched here and went through the faq in my help file and didn't see anything about my problem so here goes:
When I reboot my computer the Titler toolbar and the File Edit View...toolbar disappear from my taskbar and I have to recreate them.
All of my FinderBar settings are intact after reboot, I just have to recreate those two toolbars and everything's fine. Is there something I'm doing wrong or is that normal?
Oh yeah, I'm running Windows XP SP2. If you need any more info, let me know

It is not normal. Toolbars should be kept. Windows searches at each start of a folder which are specified as the address for Toolbars, and restores them. If Windows cannot find a folder (for example which is on an inaccessible USB-disk or it is removed) that Windows destroys (does not show) the Toolbar connected with this problematic folder.
Test it. Create a new folder on disk C: and place in it 2-3 links. Create the new toolbar for this folder. Lock the Taskbar. Reboot. The toolbar has disappeared? If yes, a problem not in Finderbar. If the toolbar is visible again remove it, create a new folder in main folder of Finderbar and make the toolbar for this folder. Reboot. The toolbar has disappeared?
I am not assured, but I think, that, probably, in adjustments of SP2 you have an interdiction on creation of new toolbars (COM-Objects). Look on the Internet of info on inquiry " my toolbar it is not kept ". I shall look too.
OK. This is very strange. The problem seems to have corrected itself. I rebooted several times before posting this problem and each time the two toolbars would be missing. So I followed your instructions and created a new tool bar with a couple of links to other programs in it and rebooted and now everything is there.
So, I removed the toolbar I created and rebooted and the FinderBar toolbars are still there, yay!
I tried wading through the Microsoft support knowledgebase and couldn't find anything but as of right now I can't reproduce the error.
This really is an awesome program. Thank you so much for creating it.
Hi ! just to let you know how great you fiderbar program is and tell you the way im using it, i tried to use it the way you instructed but decided the text on the taskbar didnt look just right so i had the idea to try it with Db Tiger vs which allready has the text on the taskbar when using it with this theme it looks perfect i just wish someone would release a panther vs with the text on the taskbar(hint,hint)
This is a great find but I have a few questions. I am using new version (1.02a) and edit/view/go do not show any menus? also, when I click on just the bar, the menu for view shows. It also crashed occasionally (stops working and I have to close and open it again). I also changed the clock to show date and time and it just shows time.
Any ideas?

I believe, that the problem is in a wrong file "menu.ini"
You can:
1. Replace this file with other menu.ini file from a installation package (see in the folder "Source", there are some more menu.ini files)
2. Send your file to me. I'll correct it and send it to you back.

thanks for your fast reply !! I checked everything you mentioned but everything seems to be right .. but i cant see the recent application in my finderbar. but the file in the "titler"-folder changes to the active application.

Please, look with the help of RegEdit.exe the following address: HKEY_CURRENT_USER.Software.Microsoft.Windows.ShellNoRoam.MUICache
Do have you in this place of the description and the paths of the applications (not *.dll but *.exe)? My program take the names of applications from this list. If there is no list, then there are no shortcuts.
If here also all in the order, then I do not know. :confused:

With the Finderbars Search: have you the names of images like the labels of hard disks? If you have the disk C: with the label "System" (as example) -- you must set the internal name of the IMAGE (not the name of the image FILE) as "System" too. If you have not the labels by disks, the Search can not find the target file, please create it before the scaning.

I will try to get it to work, maybe i have made a mistake somewhere in the scanfile image naming, i'll keep you posted ,
