[release] Nexplorer 1.85 Beta

Hey people, per your request I have fixed 1.86 and here is 1.861 .

It comes with just nexplorer.exe and a default skin folder. Just put them in your nexplorer folder.

- I tried to fix that 1 px bug but I am not completely sure.

- You can now change the size of the search edit control.

There is another version for those who have disappearing label problems.

I turned off double buffer so it may be a little more flickery but will be faster and more responsive to scroll. If you can stand a little bit of flickering (not too bad though), this will be good for you.

awwsome work once again, i dunno maybe its just me but i noticed the nice selection effect on Labeled items! i like it. Also found a bug, 2 info displays at the bottom and a skin artifact on the bottom right sidewhich wasnt there before

Damn, I forgot again to remove the old bottom bar text. Thanks for letting me know.

Anyhow, you will have to adjust the inner frame width to get it right.

In the skin.ini make the inner frame width 0. ( I guess it's [frame] bottom border )

The skinner has to make the bottom outer frame thicker.

I try non doble buffer version and still text disapear when scroll up use scroll bars.

Meybe add refresh when use scroll will make work better. Or meybe make version with no label capable so program use windows text. Thank you.

Hey vneumann, I was wondering is there or could there be a possibility for command line arguments for the functions in nexplorer? The reason why I ask is if it did those could be used to control nexplorer from other applications like... objectbar. Like when you have the desktop in focus entries in it would control nexplorer. Things like changing the view, copy and paste, change options, labels, close window etc. etc.

Another thing is that the hide toolbar thing is nice. But on the real finder the pill goes further and makes the finder into minimal mode. Like the folder on the right on this shot.

Other than those things it looks like an awesome finder. I would like to use it as a replacement file manager.

Can there also be an option to use a double click to roll up the window?

Wow Vneumann, it's hard to keep up with you and I'm only making a skin for it. Nice work. I was going to release my SmoothStripes (Black Panther) skin but realised I was still using 1.7.

Will update the skin as fast as I can but I bet you'll have another update bfore I'm finished.

i think you should delete completly your old nexplorer register key and erase evething about old nexplorer i hope it will ok for you i know how it is annoying.

This version is simpli amazing... and BZ PerfectPanther skin is awasome too.

Anyone have tried using this version as a Explorer replacement?? Any drawbacks? Or, anyone discovered a way to substitute this for Explorer that is easier to come back?

**EDIT** For anyone who try to use NeXplorer as WinExplorer (changing the default action for opening files and folders), know that whis may crash some AutoRuns instalation. Just a warning.

I hope that this skin will be default skin in future Nexplorer.

1.) The gripper in the bottom right showed up on 1.8 but doesn't on 1.85+, settings haven't changed.

2.) I can't get the search cancel button to appear at all, same settings as the default skin.

I had no problem going back to the default explorer... You have to go in and delete the three registry keys that you add.... if you cant find them just do a search for nexplorer... it will find all keys that contain nexplorer. Once you delete the three it is back to using normal explorer. No big registry fix just three files. That is all you are changing when you add the options under folder drive and file folder. back up your registry, then try it. You will see

I will help you... you have to change the postision in the skin.ini becuase version 1.85 and version 1.861 are totally different. If you want to send me what you have done I will take a look at if for you. Let me know. PM if you need help. It looks like you havent changed the size of your bottom.png either. In this version the inner frame bottom needs to be set to like 2 or 0 in the skin.ini and you need to make your bottom png about 40 pixels. That is why your gripper is not showing up. Download one of my newer skins and take a look at the skin.ini... you will see what I am talking about. Same thing with searchbar... the positions are different.

@BZeitler: All my seach bar settings in the skin.ini file are the same as the default panther skin and all the images are the same as well as there wasn't much point in changing them, although it all works fine the cancel button doesn't appear. I've tried adjusting the settings but that hasn't moved it back to normal either. Any idea what I'm missing?

use the images from one of my skins... then open up the skin.ini's and copying the lines from my skin to yours... I had the same problem but I fixed it. If it still doesnt work you can send me the skin and I can take a look at it. It has to be a skin.ini problem. Are you sure that you have all of the lines included? The ini's changed from 1.86 to 1.861.

Is it possible in the next release, you can have it save your view settings? For example I always use "show hidden files" and the "details" view state. So can ya incorporate a way for it to remember settings? Thanx.

Also, does anyone have better quality icons or png's for these icons in the screenie here? Lemme know k?

I'm not sure exactly for i haven't really looked at a mac with that much detail but it would probably be a good idea if it is possible!? to keep it in a settings folder in the main program... maybe an writeable ini file?

this is an awesome program... btw.
