[release] Nexplorer 1.85 Beta

Hi guys,

NeXplorer 1.85 is out. This version is mostly bug-fix of 1.8.

**New Features and Fixes**

1. Searches files recursively through subdirectories.

Still experimental. I need resources and screenshots of search function from

a Mac finder.

2. Search bar focus image included. Search clear/stop button included

3. You can change colors of the title bar and the status bar.

4. You can tile or stretch outer frame images now.

5. Settings are stored in nexplorer.ini.

6. Inactive transparency is gone but buttons get dimmed when the app goes inactive

7. Double click in control panel works now

8. Enter key works

9. You can change the icon size of the browser (but it changes shell icon size too)

PLEASE READ THROUGH THE PREVIOUS TOPIC (I KNOW IT'S LONG)

BEFORE YOU REPORT BUGS.

***INSTALLATION***

Just unzip the file and put the directory wherever you want.

Edit the included .reg file so that it reflects your installation directory and run it.

The default is C:\\nexplorer\\. You have to use double back slash and don't forget to include backslash at the end. If you don't follow this, you will see just blank white box.

the stop button is always showing when you put the mouse over the finder.

the cursor don't blink in the search bar.

love the mouse over in the search bar, every release is even more real/faster/better. ;)

whatevever happend to the search options? :blink:

system preferences double click is not working for me yet.

@skinners (especially Brain)

You don't have to change your skins much for this version but you will have to add search bar hot(focused) state image and search clear button image. Outer frame tiling/stretching option should be added to skin.ini file and also title bar text color.

Did you execute the registry file? I forgot to mention it. You have to edit and run it. Chceck you have \\HKCU\\Software\\Nexplorer\\Install Directory\\ key.

when you have time, please post screenshots of a real finder in the middle of searching files.

I opened the file and there was nothing to edit... by default was "C:\\nexplorer\\

tried to run it and still the same problem

Is your install directory "C:\\Nexplorer" then?

Or did you check your windows XP registry?

If it's not there, then you didn't double click nexplorer.reg .

I said EXECUTE IT.

Nice I like this version but there is a small problem.... the Preferences button doesnt work, soo we cant add Labels, Change font or whatever we want to do. It just gets on the Pressed state and thats it

What? I haven't even touched codes about the option button. It wokrs fine for me.

Is there anybody else having the same problem?

It has nothing to do with registry or configuration file .

I just downloaded the file myself and ran it . The option button works fine.

find a small weird bug...

the search function dosen't seem to work on the Desktop folder..

it crash everytime when I try to search files on the desktop... :blink: weird~~

anyone have this problem too??

and ...after searching and press the "X" btn to clear the search bar, it still only display the searched result...it have to refresh I guess...

Yeah, "desktop" folder is weird. It is supposed to be at the top of the directory structure but also resides in the usr's home directory.

I have to treat the desktop folder differently but didn't do it due to laziness.

In regard to the search. Exactly how does it work now? Also, when finished searching clicking the x should clear the search and return to the previous view.

This version is so much faster!!! I will be updating my skins tonight. I will repost the zips for everyone to download.

Great improvement ! No more flickering, speed up... Nice work !

A a little bug report about the click on cpl files : If you start a column browsing from "Computer" and select system pref in the column list, then double click on a cpl doesn't work. However every other click on cpl work perfectly :)
