On an x86 pc, cause macs are pc's too :smartass: for what the screenshots show, youll need to run it from linux
How many are the panther's cds?
Cause I have a free HD with Linux, non vital data and i would like to try it, just to be able to open dmg files, but before i got do download panther

The about says its speed is 1/500th e.g. on a 3 GHz PC you'll be able to
emulate a 6 MHz G4! Booting OS X alone should take a few hours.
Same issue has been seen with Bochs, which emulates a x86 in software.
Clock accurate measurements allow for a 33 MHz emulation on a GHz PC,
which is excellent for DOS and Windows 3.11, barely tolerable for Windows 95
and unfortunately "Tango Uniform" (totally useless) for booting 2000 or XP.
However, if pearpc evolves at the same pace as Bochs did, it may be useful
for booting OS 7/8/9 in a tolerable manner but you still won't be having
a genuine experience with OS X, e.g. booting it in minutes to dismantle a DMG.
Since the market seems to be there, I'd go waiting for a PowerPC PCI-board
instead, which should cost the same as a new eMac, if I'm any judge.

THe specs show that it will emulate a 'sorta' G3 that is 500 slower than the host so the program is quite slow and buggy but promising

Ive got a Panther lying round somwhere I might give this a try it includes documentation to install Mac OSX... From the look of it its like Virtual PC it simulates a Mac to run the OS so it will share traits with VPC where as your PC will be used to run the program which simulates a software Mac, VPC only has 8mb software video Im guessing this will be much less cant wait for future releases.

I'm tempted to try it... but knowing it will be something like 500 times slower makes me think its not worth it... yet 
I have a spare computer in the other room so I am thinking I might try this. (Aswell as 10.3, god knows why, because I don't even have a mac) Do you think it will run on a 64bit Proc?
And what is the difference?

I just hope it isn't one big fluke / hoax that is not true. I mean, how do we know its not the mac-on-linux (PPC) screenshots? We dont'. Until someone tries this thing on their machine and actually gets linux to run this on a PC (x86), I really am VERY skeptical. Perhaps a little proof before getting our hopes up?
Sorry if I'm wrong lol - just a lot of these things have appeared here before and I REALLY don't want it to be a hoax.
