can you add arrows next to the open folders in pannel view like the mac one?
you should open an icontest for the logo, and talk to the skinners here to refine the app look.

maybe you like it, but it is not the way it is in the real one, for references, take a look at iTunes search feature. I like more what looca does, in the down button, it shows system prefenences, trash can, etc.
I think it would be a good idea if all the panels could open in a standard messure, like 'X' pixels of width (you can resize either of course) and when they don't fit in the browser, a horizontal scroll bar appear. It woul be nice to integrate the some kind of media preview too.
all finders clones has improved a lot, but until now this is the best
because of the functions that it has. This is a huge step.

I do know how the real one works...
it can be moved maybe... I changed the png to an arrow and I am going to move it. Looks pretty good. I will test it later
but then another object will need to be added to take the place in the bottom left.. cause it would look naked.
I have not been able to succefully move it yet. Things seemed to be locked into there respective areas.

the mac cursor does not change either. That is what the gripper is for. You click the gripper to resize.
and it does say "kind" on the mac.

don`t want to be rude vneuman but i`m not sure if this baby is ready for a public beta.
it`s still very rough around the edges and beside few exceptions, the boards are full of whiners who would very soon make u regret even to think about this app. Wait till testers test it thoroughly and when u fix the major bugs, release the public beta.
And i know it`s hard to tell pple to wait and i know ur a nice guy who wants to satisfy everyone, but i think u should cut the number of testers. That way u should get a group of reliable pple who would pay all their attention to testing the app instead of being proud to show it of in screenshots thread (i`m not saying any of the current testers is doing this!).
Also to all the testers, PLEASE read the thread and don`t post allready posted bug reports/suggestions. If u devoted ur time to tesing, lets make vneuman's job as easy as possible, by posting only new bugs/ideas.
U have my email vneuman, so whatever u need, just email me or PM me.

I would tend to agree. I have worked hard to keep all of the bugs that I have found in my first big post.. so that he doesnt have a bunch to read. Releasing it to everyone could cause havoc.. just ask haulden about ical

Wow, I haven't really had any problems (cept when I tried to use a skin from a previous version [DON'T TRY IT!!!]) Anyways, I guess when I get home, I'll mess around with it a bit more.

I'm totally against that.. why do you want to keep something for yourself when vneuman himself want to release it? I believe people know a public beta is far from final but don't say that other people can't have it.. In what sense do you think a more people will make a bad beta test? (well... It isnt like we are tyring to keep something to ourselves.. nor do we want to start a flame war. It is easier for a developer to read a few bug reports than to sift through a 20 page thread and try to read all the posts.
Really though it doesnt matter what the beta testers say because it is not our app! So if he wants to do a public beta test than its his decision. Lets not turn this thread into an argument. Lets try to keep it to making the best finder app around
That way we will have a bug free app for everyone real soon!
Um...I'd release a public beta.
EDIT: I'd just have beta testers PM you any errors with a tag saying [bug report] or something, then release an almost final version as the public beta, just to add any final touches that people suggest.

Well it's really up to vneumann, but it's true that past beta releases end up with a lot of repetitive reports about known bugs and/or instability. Unbeliever isn't trying to "keep this for himself" --- he's pointing out that if vneumann might want to keep in mind the torrent of repeat responses inherent in a public beta.
I think all the Beta Testers should post in a Private topic, or in a Grou Instant Message program (irc whatever) soo we dont get outside posts and it things get more cleaner, also, we can work together to find bugs
When its a public topic people come in saying "Wow looks good" "Cant wait to have it" and I know that Since I do it too, but in this topic I have been trying up to post just bugs and suggestions....
I think my idea is good, the con side of this is that we would have to set up a hour to do it together, and I believe we all have different times

Ok sorry for double post, but Ive got something nice, I didnt like the brushed skin that came with NeXplorer and I saw that Looca had such a good Brushed Skin, when I went to check what they used for they background, they almost had the same proportions, but didnt used the same format. Soo I just did a quick rename, swapped files, applyed a good brushed skin for the titlebar and Voilá this is what I got
