[preview] Nexplorer (color Label, Multi Panel )

Hey guys,

The next version of NeXplorer is almost done but I need beta testers.

There was a major overhaul in main browsing engine and I removed

dependence on windows explorer almost completely(except for the popup menu)

As a result, browsing is a little slower and the program is still unstable.

So I need Beta testers who will monitor all the problems of the program.

PM me or reply to this post if you want to try my app before it's released to public.

Here are new features.......

1. You can use Panther color label by Hybrid Rainbow

2. Multi panel browsing ( Experimental, Up to 8 levels only )

I just used splitter windows without bottom scroll bars so it may be a little bit

inconvenient. It will be fixed later

3.Auto thumbnail for jpg, png, bmp, gif files

4. Drag -n-Drop in the shortcut pane : Now you can rearrange shortcuts just by

dragging it in the shortcut pane. If you drop a png file on an item, the image is

used for the shortcut.

5. Better skinning than the last version. Now you can adjust the position of each

button and UI element.

6. Home directory: If you make a directory named "home" under Nexplorer

directory. It automatically uses the directory as a start up directory. You can

put shortcuts(.lnk files) there.

7. Folder icon : If you put a png file named "folder.png" under the nexplorer

directory, all the uncustomized folders use the png file as their icon.

8. Simple search

If I have about 5 volunteers, I will send them my app by email.

Public release will follow after I gather all the information from the beta

testers and the bugs are fixed ( If there is no major problem)

I had a problem sending the file to bicet

Finally he got the file and I will send the link to those who PM'ed me.

Remember that the program can be quite buggy and crash unexpectedly.

Another important point, I don't think it will work on OSes other than XP.

There's a good chance that it can work on windows 2000 but I can't

guarantee it.

Hum when I opened the app for the first time, It had no Titlebar.... I had to close it trough the dock

Im still trying to kid with it a bit, ill Post bugs tommorow.... Im gona sleep soon

Eh, it still has no tittlebar.... Am I missing something, I applyed the Registry

Found how to fix, I had too "per Application" skin trough windowblinds, I didnt had Xero's installed so the brushed theme doesnt match, but it has been sorted out

Strange that you had to do "per application" thing....

Do you use a special window blinds skin?

I forgot another thing to tell the beta testers.

You should have a Lucida Grande font for the beta version.

You will be able to change the font in the final release.
