Thanks for your hard work pal :)

3 days using it, no problems.

Clean installation :) .

Good work :P

As I said before, fabulous job so far. I was just wondering if anybody else had had problems with FindeXer stealing focus? It is a little bit annoying when you're navigating up and down into folder hierarchies. It's just a small annoyance, nothing major. Just wanted to mention it.

one word...excellent

#406210

Any reason all my icons look bad :

#406216

look through the thread enjoi and its listed somewhere.. something to do with the icons have to be resized on some comps..

#406221

Any reason all my icons look bad :

yes - you are using the Windows Default icons which as explained earlier, are low res and quality - customize them using the "Item Edit" Dialog...

Please work well windowblinds but help us with the visuals!

Finally, after some rigorous days of testing and re-testing, I feel good enough about this build. It should be more stable and has some features enhanced, as well as multiple bug-fixes.

Check the site for the full changelog and the download link of course.

Please note - I've added VERY BASIC ToolTipping support (it's currently in development) please don't feature request regarding it or i will no longer add new uncomplete features to nightlies but only when they are done.

Hope you enjoy this build, More usability and builds will follow.

Also, If you've been experiencing problems with any sort of icons (like the Vista Pack V3.0 for instance), please check them using some sort of Icon Editting Software (Axialis Icon Workshop for example) before posting and wasting my time with it. Most chances are - they're just corrupted or otherwise screwed (like with the above Vista Pack V3.0) ;)

#406828

it should belong in its own subforum such as RK Launcher and them.

Latest build (1.1.0.3) shows a bug on my machine (sp1):

when I open a Windows Explorer window that should have the Folders sidebar ( /e switch, that is), well... the Folders sidebar is there, but it has the same width of Finderex - and since I set Finderex to show "icons only", it's quite small :) I tried reinstalling build 1.1.0.2, and the weird behaviour is gone :slant: back to 1.1.0.3 and the problem appears again.

problem with latest version --------

when i right click on icons in FindeXer, explorer restarts. any help, please......

@dreadnaut - I think i know what's changed that could be causing this.

@rahuljin - if you want help, you will have to supply more detail of your system specs (os, installed apps - etc...) and if this is a first time use of FindeXer (or if it does/does not occur with previous versions). Since I have not changed anything (that i can remember) in the Context Menu code, you should only be getting this if you have installed over a previous version and did not restart the Explorer process...

so please post more info.

[Edit - Update:] - @dreadnaut - i was able to reproduce the problem. you can redownload from my site now and it should be fixed.

oh - also it's FindeXer and not FindereX ;)

I confirm, it's fixed and perfect now :) Sorry about the moving X, I just can't remember the correct name :P ( starts repeatin FindeXer FindeXer FindeXer... )

I am lovin the newest nightly, keep it up!! you have a perfect prize here

One small problem, I have my ipod on the Findexer bar, and even if i set it to the drive letter that the ipod is, when i click to open it...it just opens the image file..

#407245

@Soniku - FindeXer performs the default action windows has set up for that specific item (what should happen when you double-click on it), if that's different for you please tell me what the default action is and how you set it up. if not - you need to change it in the Folder Options.

#407293

when i double click on it, it should go into my iPod, but instead it just showed the png like i was opening a normal picture...

another question - where are the settings saved? Directly to the registry or is there a file somewhere

#407308

@Soniku - I'm not sure what you mean by this

when i double click on it, it should go into my iPod, but instead it just showed the png like i was opening a normal picture...

Does double-clicking result in the same behaviour as FindeXer clicking or not? if yes, then you need to change the WINDOWS default action, which is done (as far as i know) in (the Explorer Menu) Tools->Folder Options->File Types. It has nothing to do with FindeXer settings.

Or were you asking where the settings are stored as a non-related question?

If that is the case, they are stored in an XML file, Located in your User's Application Data directory, under the FindeXer Directory.

the files are :

  • FindeXer - Items.xml for item settings.
  • FindeXer - Settings.xml for the general options.

#407309

what i mean is when i connect my iPod (and even when it's not connected) for the Path it will have the location of the image that I use to represent my ipod, so instead of opening my iPod it just opens the image even after I make it point to the correct locaion...this odddness only happens in findeXer
