The bands/ artists that have been seeing steady rotation in iTunes are RATM, Coldplay, Radiohead, Gorillaz, Blur, Elliot Smith, The White Stripes, and Jurassic 5.
Coldplay is pure genius; I have yet to hear a song of theirs that I don't like. Radiohead's genius goes without saying (BTW, how's everyone like the new Thom avatar? :own:)
Gorillaz/Blur are kinda in the same boat, as both are fronted by Damon Albarn, whose musical genius is just now getting recognized. However, Blur has suffered a HUGE setback with the departure of Graham...I hope he comes back.
Elliot Smith is a recent addition to my music collection...he did many of the songs in the "Good Will Hunting" soundtrack...very eclectic blend of guitars and pianos.
The White Stripes are just amazing, no other way to put it. They are a refreshing throwback to rock's roots, and I am still amazed at how full of a sound they accomplish with just a guitar and drums. Amazing.

Wow, most of you like all these loud, modern bands. I never got into that, but I do like some of the "Punk" music, I suppose. Most of the stuff just seems like nothing but screaming and cliche'd songs, maybe im wrong though.

As far as deep...Radiohead does a good job of bringing me to another level. I will never forget the first time I listened to "Optimistic"...wow. Tool, Elliot Smith, and Smashing Pumpkins can also take me to that surreal level.

I do. But I only listed my top ten albums.
Bands from the 60's that I like and usually listen to: Cream, Jimi Hendrix, The Doors, Beach Boys. From the 70's: Allman Brothers, Lynyrd Skynyrd... I listen a lot of things from the 50's to our days.
Oh, I went to the Bob Dylan concert in Madrid in the 'Time out of mind' tour and it was one of the best live shows I've seen in my life. You're not alone contra

Hey, there's far too much metal stuff going around here for my liking. Whatever happened to some electronic stuff?
Here is, for what it's worth, my favourite bands, why they're so great, and the best album they did:
i. New Order - Just the greatest band ever, Low-Life.
ii. Underworld - A lot more than just Born Slippy, Second Toughest in the Infants.
iii. Kraftwerk - The single most influential band ever. Pioneers and history makers, cheating a bit I say 'The Mix'.
iv. Oasis - Haven't done a lot of great stuff since 1996, but the stuff up 'til then was amazing. I was one of the 125,000 at Knebworth in 1996, their defining moment, Definitely Maybe.
v. The Chameleons - Obscure Manchester band from the 1980s, What does anything mean? Basically.
vi. A Certain Ratio - As above, Force.
vii. Joy Division - The band from whom the ashes formed New Order, Closer.
viii. 808 State - Late 1980s Acid House pioneers. One of the prime movers in the House scene in the UK back then, and ultimately legendary, Ex:El.
ix. Lightning Seeds - Mid to late 1990's light synthpop act, pulled up few trees but very effective stuff, Jollification.
x. The Smiths - Very influential 1980's Manchester band, The Queen is Dead.
And to send you all to sleep even more, here's my top ten song list:

well, in my opinion Tom Petty is at least as good as Bruce Springsteen although he's not that popular...
Ok, IMO, Bruce Springsteen sucks ass. Always has, always will. Couldn't carry a tune or be more out of touch with his fans than anyone in the world. What does he do to get that sound? Gargle acid? And who writes his songs? Nothing more pathetic than a rich guy trying to be sympathetic to his loyal, lower middle class fan base.
And whats the deal with Radiohead? My brother has tried to get me to "grow into" them for years, but honestly if someone doesn't smack that lead singer upside the head Im going to die from all his whining. Holy crap, please shut his whiney ass up.
Maybe Im too picky. I ask at least some musical ability and something catchy in the lyrics. Of course, look at my list and it shows that almost everybody I like is popular with the movie soundtrack genre...so what does that say?
Sinead - several soundtracks, including End of Days. Pretty much any movie about New York has a Sinead song hidden in it somewhere.
Danny Elfman - too many movies to count. Although he started in Oingo Boingo, of Wierd Science fame, hes down over a hundred movie soundtracks, including Batman, Tales from the Crypt and everything by Tim Burton plus others...almost every movie you see nowadays includes Danny Elfman doing the theme music. Seriously, next time you watch more than a single movie I bet you'll see his name.
Zombie is everywhere. Ive heard his music in elevators, commercials, movies, clubs, bars, TV shows and even Wal*Mart & Kroger. I love Zombie.
My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult has been on several soundtracks including The Crow and Strange Days.
Powerman 5K already have a few movies under their belt as well.
I dont think TOOL has ever been included in a movie, but if Im wrong let me know. TOOL rules all, and no group can touch their genius. NONE!!!
Maybe Im more of a movie fan than a music fan...

Do you really think that? What happens with people like Shannon Hoon, Jeff Buckley or Chris Cornell? For me, Thom Yorke has nothing to do compared with them, it's like a joke for me!!
