Great!!!

Thank you SOooo MUCH!!!

easy fix. this happens with some themes. simply unlock your taskbar, and resize it, you'll notice you can move it a pixel bit smaller. it's rather an unique problem and usually happens when the comp boots with the language bar enabled.

thanks - ive tried that but it does work, I NEVER use the language bar, so its dissabled.

Okay. I installed 3.0 at Home. Works perfectly. But at work i installed it on Windows 2003 Standard SP1 (+ all patches) and... after reboot FlyakiteOSX Updater every time says, that 2 files still need updating (ntmsmgr.dll and storprop.dll), and very ugly bug: on boot screen there's Windows 2003 Logo instead of lovely apple, but it' kind of grey on white (like OSX bootscreen) with status bar from OSX boot and it look very weird. So. This time i gonna re-install 3.0 to check evertyhing will be OK after uninstall and so on...

First of all, Thank You, Thank You, Thank You,..... Chris! It´s really a wonderful aplication.

But...

I have two little problems with it:

I´m missing the updater.exe and the uninst.exe. It´s not a big deal, but I´m just wondering....

(sorry for my englisch, I´m German ;-) )

hey lydia i think you activated the tweak "show administrator account on welcome screen"

because of that theres another administrator account

#349904

And the last thing: i mentioned, that Excel, PowerPoint Word from Microsoft Office was patched and if you launch them their icons are truly changed, but if you launch Outlook the icon in the Start Menu and QuickLaunch is OK, but in application itself it's still old Microsoft one.

#349914

is ist possible that you have deacitvated windows scripting host with xp antispy or a tool like that?

#349919

THANKS! (where to download?) :=?

#349926

Has anyone seen this: on the startup screen with the grey apple logo and the new progress bar is the word Professional (I think from my Win XP Prof) - but this word looks messy: it's in grey but with little black dots all around.

Regards

Peter

"show administrator account on welcome screen"

It makes me not want to help people if they cannot take it upon themselves to do a little work and read.

If you looked through the installer, in the tweaks section there is an option: "Show Administrator account on Welcome Screen". Also, in the Welcome to FlyakiteOSX, it mentions that the uninstaller gives you the option to uninstall items individually (which is also shown in the Uninstaller Options screenshot on the site. Anyway though, run the uninstaller, and choose to only uninstall that option in the Tweaks section. Viola, the Administrator account is hidden. It ALWAYS exists on the system (it is impossible to get rid of, and you shouldn't even try). All the tweak does is shows the account on the Welcome Screen.

I talked with someone else who had this problem, and we tried many things to figure out why it was happening. What we discovered, however is that he had done a repair install of Windows. The FlyakiteOSX installer uses NSIS install system, and there is a variable for $SMPROGRAMS, which is a built in variable for the Start Menu -> All Programs folder. I don't know if you actually did do a repair install as well, but that is my first guess. I haven't found a solution yet, but I will post a question about this at the NSIS forum to see if I can come up with a fix.

=====================

To let everyone know: I am going to doing a small update in about a week to address the issues that have come up since release. Specifically the shell32.dll 48x48 icons, the boot screen, and some other stuff. I will also be working with Filipe to get him to fix the bugs in SearchSpy.

If your question does not get answered, please wait. I am extremely swamped with e-mails and whatnot right now. I have also only had about 5 hours of sleep in the last 48 hours. Please send bugs to my e-mail using the contact form on my site, or through the message options on this board. Thank you everyone for your support.

Also, if you are aware of any definitive solution to a bug a user may be having, please contact me via the board with the subject "Bug Solution". That way I may discover fixes that I was not aware of, and I don't have to worry about searching through this forum. I will be updating the FAQ on the site to reflect all of the major stuff that happens to everyone.

EDIT: The update will also fix the sounds, and replace them with their original quality versions. I had tried to compress them some to save space, and they seemed fine when I compressed them, but I guess not.

Just a quick question, my update from flyakite 2 to 3 went smoothly, no problems, apart from one thing, everytime a restart my pc and login it displays a windows file protection message at the start, i never got this when i had flyakite 2 installed, any ideas?

No, I didn´t do a repair install.

That would be great! THX!
