I m haapy that it will resolve the sond files issue (quality)

The boot screen is another thing...

Only i want to give you some suggestions:

The viualstyle has no Spotlight icon incorporated... (okay the search spy is good, but some of us like the hot area to run it)

* i recomend the mac search app... is standalone... and have very good features.... (i have not detected bugs... yet...)

I will stay in touch if i found some bugs....

I have experienced a problem:

The changes in the current user settings are not saved.

Currently I have nothing checked of the run at startup options.

When I do and restart - it's still the same.

And of course if I don't include the icon for Movie maker, people complain, and if I do include the icon, people complain. Everyone wants more more more, and then I do, and it causes problems or it uses up more memory, and they complain again. No one understands how it works, and whenever I don't include features, people are always like (why don't you do this, or this, or how come you don't include this?), etc. etc. I'm not targeting you, I'm just simply stating that I include what people want, and then it causes problems, and yet when I don't include it, all I do is get e-mails that I missed so and so icon.

whoa, easy there big fella. i think graffix was pretty respectful to you and was just pointing out a legitimate 'bug.' we all know you've been kicking ass and getting your ass kicked with the new release and are probably just blowing off steam. maybe take a week off and just play doom 6 or madden 2012 for a while.

besides, did you really think that greatness comes without suffering?

I also wanted to point out that there seem to be some options that aren't properly installed. I still have to try uninstalling and reinstalling, but I did install 3.0 on top of the previous 3.0. This was after I received the following error after trying to access the 'Dashboard & Expose' preferences.

It appears that the application you are trying to access is not available. Please make sure the application is installed and that the INI settings are correct.

I checked the skin.ini file, and indeed the Path for the Dashboard and Expose was missing:

Label=Dashboard && Expose

Can you, or anyone with a proper working Expose, provide me the correct Path for the app? Does anyone know how to check if I do have the application installed?

There is no Expose included. You have to link it to your own program installed. Just because there is an icon for something doesn't mean its something actually included. Tiger System Preferences is not my program

I have read your FAQ and i looked continually for the windowsblind file. Can you please tell me the location of this file. Second i was wondering how to use the searchspy program. I have searched to internet to no avail. Thanks alot. Sorry for all of the trouble that i caused but i am new to the mac os x theme and was a little curious.

Do you own WindowBlinds? Do you know what it is? To my knowledge, applying skins with left-side glyphs is no different than applying skins with right-side glyphs.

Having read through a number of posts, it seems there's an awful lot of very ungrateful people out there.

flyakite has produced this app in his own time, and distributes it free - and all some people do is complain.

Why don't those people go somewhere else or keep their whinging and whining to themselves.

Better still, send some money to flyakite so that he can get a dedicated server.

Even though I am experiencing video problems with OSX 3, and therefore cannot use it, I still appreciate your good work and thank you. Hopefully someone will be able to resolve the video problems and then I will be able to use it.

Thanks for all your hard work creating this cool program.

I followed the Steve G. thread on this forum on OS X emulation some time ago, and after learned of your application doing it all and then some in one fell swoop. I tried installing v 2 over all those Stardock apps (Bootscreen, WB, Object Dock, etc.) and got some wierd results (like the two boot screens fighting each other at bootup). I unistalled it and stuck with the Thememanager route.

My question is: Should I uninstall all those Stardock apps (or some specific ones) prior to installing Flyakite V. 3? I want the full Flyakite experience and don't want some previous program preventing or stepping on some of the Flyakite features. I know some of them, like WB and ObjectDock are used in conjuction with Flyakite...

Installed v 3.0 and it is terrific. It's a lot less obtrusive than Windowblinds, altough I do miss having the buttons on the left as with Steve G.'s skin. Fantastic job!!!!!

Flyakite coexists just fine with Windowblinds. You don't have to use just one or the other.

I got odd black, square corners in the scroll bars of my windows with the WindowBlind's tiger theme, and had instances were the rext on some buttons and dialogue boxes were trunciated because they were too big for the button. Other odd, performance things happened as well.

Flyakite seems to be more intergrated with Windows itself, and therefore I think more stable. Maybe there is a way to apply only that part of a Windowblinds skin that I want to apply, like the left side title bar buttons. I know it is very configurable. I'll test it out.

Anyway, this is an amazing piece of fun. I'll be donating to the cause. Great job!!

Flyakite uses the .msstyles version of Kol's Tiger 2 theme. There's a WB version of the same theme available from Kol's Deviantart site. Steve Grenier's work is not the only Tiger theme available for WB.

The performance issues you describe sound more like driver issues rather than Windowblinds issues. The truncated dialog boxes and odd buttons are likely a font problem in a program that uses custom-size buttons. CCleaner, perhaps? Either way, your performance issues will likely be solved with an updated video driver, a newer WB5 build, or a plain old reinstall.

Flyakite mainly replaces system files. Windowblinds hooks into Windows and replaces the entire theming service--with better performance, may I add, since Stardock wrote the themes service for Microsoft way back when. Windowblinds is merely an improvement of the product Stardock gave to Microsoft.

You can use Windowblinds' per-application skinning feature to only skin certain apps, but you can't dictate which properties of the skin are applied.

This might have been reported in this thread, but I don't have the time to read 14 pages right now. I downloaded Flyakite for a couple of days ago and have been very pleased with it. But now, when I started 3D Studio Max 7 I noticed that all my materials have gotten a blueish tone to them. So white isn't really white, and so on. Really annoying, and I think have to uninstall Flyakite because of this.

EDIT: GAH! I uninstalled Flyakite but my materials are still ****ed up! Maybe it wasn't Flyakite's foult anyway

EDIT2: Well, the colour of the ambient light hade changed to blue, I don't know how, but it's now back to default

Run the uninstaller and uninstall comctl32.dll. See if it happens on restart. What's really odd, is that fixed the errors one guy was having. Then I had him reinstall to see, and it didn't give him error messages. Who knows.

Hi, I have WFP problem same as oc-athlonxp.com (Do not have a SFCScan key, but have SFCDisable- and the value is "0"). After uninstall comctl32.dll, it will not appear, but when re-install comctl32.dll, WFP window is popped again. So...the only way to avoid WFP problem is to uninstall comctl32.dll? What's the function of comctl32.dll? Thanks.
