RK Launcher 0.4 - FEATURE REQUESTS

A quick toggle for hiding the taskbar in rightclick menu

The ability to right click items that would be in the system tray and have *their* menus appear

What would be really cool is some sort of indicator (under or over minimized progs)

something like an led.

Just an idea

You are awesome Raduking

A quick toggle for hiding the taskbar in rightclick menu

i found a desklet that will do this, ToggleBar 1.0.1 (for YZDock). It's part of TaskPack v1.0.1. Here's the download link: http://dockex.com/process.download.php?d=35

Is there a way to use this on a USB disk. I couldn't figure out a way to configure the path for apps that change drive letters. I like the look and feel of this app, I would like to be able to use it on my USB disk to run my portable apps. Currently I'm using PStart, but I'd like a taskbar like this to use. (unless this all has been answered somewhere in here and I'm to lazy to read every thread, or missed it.:P ) Thanks.

It would be really nice if RkLauncher would also show programs that are active in the system tray. ObjectDock already does that even though the icons are really bad quality since it uses the original icons present in the system tray.

I only started using this great program recently, I use it pretty basically. No docklets and stuff, just a simple program launcher... but the thought of drag-and-drop sounds cool. I'm not sure if it's already been asked for, but how about the option to place RK away from the screen edges, similar to MobyDock?

I don't know if anyone mentioned this, but the windows taskbar is great at one thing.

To compare two windows with each other.

Say I have two identical word documents open, But one document has a very slight change.

Or I have two pictures on my computer where one is very very slightly different.

With the taskbar, the same coordinate opens and closes the picture.

What I mean is, you have a webpage with a large picture,

Now I can open a second webpage with a second picture, and use the -same- button on the taskbar to hide and show the window, so I can compare the picture with the one "underneath".

With mac as soon as I minimise a window it's position is different in the doc.

Or is there a way to click one xyz coordinate on mac to keep showing and hiding a window, I don't have a mac so I don't know.

This steals focus from various games, despite the "never steal focus" checkbox being activated, with "always on top" activated as well.

edit: Example: It does steal focus from Morrowind, but not Quake 3. /shrug

Is there a way to disable it while fullscreen applications are present?

#343554

what about having an option to have it on top of the taskbar like this picture i attatched.

Please add some folder viewer (like a tree from yugop.com) or like "Start" button. It would be great! Thank you for dock!

#346097

An option to choose a direction for the dock to grow when it's zoomed in on an item.

#346480

i agree yes indeed

Sometimes RK Launcher is in the way - plain and simple.

Would be nice if you could configure so that RK would dissapear temporarily in certain configurable cases. Some examples might be:

- mouse is over RK is same exact position for 2 seconds, RK dissapears for 5 seconds

- while mouse is over RK, if you tap Ctrl, RK dissapears for 5 seconds

#347846

what about to integrate the possibility to command rklauncher via command line with arguments/parameters...

eg:

rklauncher.exe -hide on

rklauncher.exe -hide off

rklauncher.exe -magn on

rklauncher.exe -magn off

rklauncher.exe -restart

rklauncher.exe -settings behavior

rklauncher.exe -position top-right

....

???

#348258

can you add please a manuel Position ?

#348393

i dont think anyone mentioned this, but i want the "never take focus" option to be saved when exited.

also, some stuff that other people mentioned:

1. being able to use alt-tab when minimized

2. firefox 1.x minimizing to dock

3. ily raduking.

I only need one thing, content folder when I push middle button into folder item in the dock. This feature is the unique reason that I continue to use Y'zDock. Pleeeeease! :P

Ah! and ftp folder suport too!

#349415

should add some yz dock features .eg.

*changeble poofs http://img205.imageshack.us/img205/8020/bang0nu.png

*changeble indicator (little black thing)

*change ugly folder icon when drag folders on to the dock http://img29.imageshack.us/img29/1738/bar9sy.png

*add Icon List browser .icl

optional changes:

*theme colour scroll bar for default theme http://img220.imageshack.us/img220/9792/colour6jc.png

*no minimize animation for low performance computers

ps: very nice dock, best i've seen

//Post Edited. Some of your images were just a bit too big ;)--for example, the second one I linked was about 100 px too long. The Board Rules explain the maximum image size. Thanks! :) --NC

A real quick one.... On a Mac, when you maximize a window, it fills the screen to where the dock starts, so the window doesn't go over... Is that a possibility, to trick windows that the screen ends there? That would be an excellent feature.

#351702

Im not sure if you are allowed to, but is it possible to enable drag & drop files directly to the recycle bin (Trash) docklet without the fuss of placing the dragged icon directly over the docklet? Enable the drag drop trash feature while the dock items are locked. ??

there is a program on osx e which enables you to create invisible borders so programs maximize to the preset width/height. There are a few issues with the software tho. Take a look at the site, im not sure exactly what it is called. I'll post later if I find it.

On the same lines as this how about:

Middle mouse click toggles autohide on/off. (there really needs to be 1-button access to hide/unhide the dock).

Also the 2 second delay when left-clicking a folder and getting a menu should be replaced IMHO with a middle click. 2 seconds is an age in modern computing terms!

Garcia.

P.S. I love RKDock! Thanks Raduking!

when the rk launcher is started it rolls from the bottom,to appear.Would it be possible to let rk launcher roll to the bottom when it's closed(like the automatically hide animation)? In os x you can see this animation when you shut down the mac.

#353416

I would like to see a fly-out menu like option on the new verision. Objectdock has this feature and back when I used OD, I really found it useful. With RK's programming skills, I'm sure it wouldn't be terribly difficult (for him).

#353515

I tried to "Right Click" & select the dock item properties only to find out that I selected "Never show in dock" by accident!

I beleive that these two options are to close together.

IMO a better order would be:

1. Never show in dock

2. Keep in dock

3. Dock item properties

Thoughts?

One thing that I haven't seen on any docks out there is the ability to make the dock "snap to" the edge of the screen. I don't know how to explain it other than to say that when I maximize a window, I want it to snap to the top/side of my dock (depending on where I have my dock). That way, I won't have windows above or below my dock which makes the dock always visible. It is just like that on OS X. If you resize a window, you cannot make it cover the dock. That would be an awesome feature. I don't like autohide!!! Hope something can be figured out.
