Mobydock Dx : The Next Generation Is Finally Here!

look in the folder Defaults in the Dockconfig folder

there you will see the background .png's as with seperators and the background/seperator .ini files for configuring

I tried that but the PNG's I want to use are different sizes and if I stretch them up to the size I need, they get all screwed up. I also tried changing the margins and that gave me a weird effect also.

official proclamation:

As you all know, I have a mac. And I can confirm that.... the magnification is PERFECT!! :D

#21580

i have to say, it's pretty damn cool. while scrolling your mouse over the magnified icons it's smooooooooth as silk. however, the magnify/demagnify (on mouseover) is still a bit slow for my liking... not to say that your dock doesn't own, moby. cuz it does. anyway, that's my only real qualm with it.

next version ho!

Tell us some more Taha, about how our Dock is better than yours. LOL.

You only wish you had a PC so you can experience TRUE OS X!!

(I know you have a PC)

PS. For people having a problem dowloading, Try this: http://nmazer.stsbeta.iponet.net/Shared%20...75%20(FULL).zip

works like crap for me :(:(

#21583

I have a radeon 9700 pro and the new dock does not feel nearly as responsive as YZ dock. The animation is very slow and it takes a bit to respond when I move my mouse over it. I have the latest drivers so I think there seems to be an issue with Radeon cards.

well you have to edit the Png's from Yzdocks cause Yzdocks are smaller so you have to cut and paste them around in Photoshop or somthing to make them work.

I have an old graphic card Matrox G400 and it work perfectly!

Thanks Moby!

#21589

did i miss something? where are the "loads" of features everyone is orgasming about? the only thing i see here that any other dock doesn't have is turning off the bouncing icons...i think its a nice dock, i'm just wondering why everyone is playing salesman for moby by calling it loads of features when they're the same as everywhere else

#21622

For some VERY strange reason, moby's site would NOT refresh in the latest build of Firebird -- no wonder I thought there was no updates in the site!!!.

Downloading it now with Opera without problems... Will be spending the rest of the day playing around with this and experiencing the strengths and weaknesses for myself :) Thanks again, moby.

#21625

Basically, it has the features of ALL the docks in one dock. Yeah, none of these features are new, but its the first time they are all in one.

#21626

It just looks too blurry flor my likeing, that and it uses more resources than objectdock, I liek all the features, but it isnt feasable for me to use it yet

#21627

ztiworoh?!!!! do the icons look jaggy for you?

ok, since people aren't checking the bug thread, my icons are jaggy/blurry, they look like crap, see the bug thread for details

#21636

OMFG

BAD BAD BAD IDEA

ATTENTION ALL NVIDIA USERS

CHANGE ALL SETTINGS TOWARD QUALITY IN YOUR NVIDIA CONTROL PANEL, THIS INFLUENCES MOBYDOCK DX

#21639

Mine are covered in a blue hue, and they look like BLUE CRAP!!!!!!!!

yes they do, they do not look sharp enough for me

#21641

check my above post for quality/sharpness improvements the same may apply for ati cards

#21643

Are they jaggy when the dock is idle or magnified. If its when its idle, thats really a "feature".

Exactly what settings do we change?

#21645

i'm guessing it has to do with the dX rendering in nvidia's control panel, you can have it do it really quick or best quality, depending on your version of the control panel its in different places

#21670

Here's my dock.

Running very smooth.

I have GF3 ti500 card using 43.45 drivers.

Performance-Quality bar set in the middle.

thanks Contrasutra for the link, I have tried everything to get to Moby's site, and cant get in. Why not put that site on a regular web server? with so many having problems getting to it, what gives?

If not for people like Contrasutra, providing other links, I would think that site was gone forever since I cant get in at all.

Ok I installed the new dock, and it works great! This on a SonyVaio Laptop with and ATI Mobility 7500 Radeon video card in it. I use the drivers from www.omegacorner.com. This dock is very smooth and clear to me, I dont see any of the problems reported thus far.

Great work Moby! Just move the site to a normal place.

#21686

Does anyone else get this problem? I have QCD playing music in the background and when I mouse-over the dock I get crackling from my speakers...

Just wanna know if this problem is isolated to my machine or if anyone else is facing this too.

BTW did I mention that this dock is f***IN AWESOME!!! I wish that the crackling sound could be fixed though..

Siddharth,

That may have to do with the PCI bus getting flooded by data and/or request. If you have an AGP card it really shouldn't happen, but it can.

Also, the sound card drivers may not be up to date.

I would suggest going into QCD and looking at the output plugin and setting a larger buffer size to help overcome the problem. If that does not help, switch to Wave output if you are using DirectX output or to DirectX output if you are using Wave output. Again, an adjustment in buffer size may be necessary once the switch in output type is made.

Bling,

Grusic

Thanks Grusic, I tried that but it doesn't seem to fix to the problem. Adding a large buffer reduced the problem a bit. I guess the sound card drivers are at fault...
