Ok, Moby Great WORK!! this dock is what we all have needed for a longg time.....

Your Work and Time into this project is much appreciated.

ive fallen in love with this dock after about 2 minutes of use.

gotta love the tweakable priority and bouncing speed.

Had a bit of problem with the icons all being way bright and see through with trans. off.

that was with Nvidia 41.09.. installed 43.51, mighta just been a setting in my vid drivers

but its fixed now. and im off to customize this Awesome Dock.. :)))

Great Work Moby.

You need to refresh the page. If that doesn´t work delete your internet temp files.

Awesome. One problem:

The icons are a little blurry when the dock is idle, they are fine when mag is on.

Sooo coool.

PS. Works GREAT on 2 monitors, spans them both w/ no slowdown.

That´s the ideia contrasutra it should get the icons blurred in idle state and sharpen them while zooming!

For the mail accounts, how would I go about adding Hotmail...? Anyone know what to put for the server? Thanks later.

Fletch

#21514

You cant use Hotmail, its not POP3.

There are programs that can change hotmail to POP3, but they dont work great.

And thats suppose to happen w/ the blurriness? Oh well, gooooo Blurriness!

#21515

You can try to put this http://services.msn.com/svcs/hotmail/httpmail.asp but I'm not sure if that will work, your username is your hotmail email of course, and then your password. I got this server address of OE.

ABSOLUTLY THE BEST DOCK OUT!!!!:D:):D

It's so FAST and ACCURATE!!

It also has almost all the features of the docks and MORE!!!

It's dependently my default dock for right now!!!

The only thing thats bugging me is the fuzzy icons when the icons are not being scrolled over, and two request for the future are 1) an easier way to change dock backgrounds 2) being able to have the dock on different sides of the screen.

AWSOME WORK!!!!!!!!!!!!

#21517

awesome...

but is there anyway to add 1 more seperators?

Moby - I have a few issues with the dock.

If I set the delay of autohide to anything other than 0ms, anytime I try to start Mobydock my screen goes black and the computer crashes.

Anytime I change the size of the icons in the dock, after I accept the settings, my computer will crash.

My video card is a Radeon 9700 Pro, I have the Catalyst 3.2 drivers installed, and DirectX 9.0a

Anyone have suggestions?

EDIT** I am running XP Home edition with SP 1

#21519

Another question, Moby:

When the dock is on both monitors, do you know if it uses just one video card or both, because I dont really see any slow down between the monitors, and ive got a TN2 and a GF4MX.

#21520

speed and SOME of the features are amazing. my review:

cons:

• im getting a weird 'bug'? i opened the task manager, and looked at the mem usage. both idle (12,410k) and while moving my mouse back and forth on the dock. the 'bug' happens when i move the mouse across the dock. the mobydock info blinks, and it seems like its forcing the mem usage to display what it was displaying when it was idle (might be causing the blinking)

hmmmmm.gif

• i HATE the slide out effect it has while autohide is switched on. when i move the mouse to where the dock is located, it slides from the edge of the screen, and THEN has the magnification effect on the icons. i cant find where that effect option is, so im guessing its suppose to be like that. for clarification, my dock is set on auto hide, and has a 'slide out' effect on it (an autohide delay of 0 is set, which is the dock's default).

• im getting a problem where the shadows on my right-click menus (built into windows xp) cut the dock, completely. icons, background and all, around the menu's shadow. like so:

menuerror.jpg

• i dont like that i cant change the background thru the dock's control panel, or see the changes i make to the dock until i hit accept.

• to get the menu on the separator, i have it click RIGHT on it, all 3 pixels of it.

• adjustable icon bounce. sure its nice that you can do it, but its not as smooth as any of the other docks.

pros:

• right click menus on icons

• speed + magnification effect

final comments:

after MONTHS of wait, this dock finally comes out, and it leaves me very, very disappointed. i went running back to my objectdock and y'zdock. whew. thank god.

computer specs:

OS: Windows XP Home Edition (Service Pack 1)

Processor: Intel Pentium 4 2.40 GHz

Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce3 Ti 200

Memory: 1024MB DDR-SDRAM

Misc: DirectX 9.0a, 43.45 NVIDIA Detonator Drivers

yea, thats it.

Contrasutra - learn to shut up a lil - not kidding. block you're mouth for just a lil longer cause your posts are passing the gray area. I'm serious.

#21522

good job! :D

my suggestion:

-better menu for changing background

-better z-ordering when the dock is not always on top (see Yz)

-sharper icons (blurry when idle)

-shadow support for dock background (I have fallen in love with shadow in yz)

:P

that's all for now, keep on working!

#21524

Hi !

thank you all for your WOWs and comments/suggestions ! i am too tired to answer now ! i will do it later !!

#21529

No offence to Mr. Y or Stardock but I don't know why anyone would even think about using either of those docks after spending more then 30 seconds running the new Moby Dock  It's sheer speed and the insane amount of options are something above everything else B)

They must be drunks :)

#21530

im just saying, it shouldnt have been so hyped up. thats all. and no, i dont need attention, i could care less who reads this. im just stating my opinion, sorry if thats wrong. <_<

its better than anything i could ever make. nice dock moby.

#21566

How is this overhyped at all. I have had 0 problems with it. It runs FLUID. I havent seen a Windows dock do that yet! Its got loads of features, and is low on resources.

Im running a PCI TNT2 and it runs fluid, so its even low requirements.

#21567

cooL! B)

#21576

I really like the new Moby Dock, but I have one problem. How do I make a new background, or convert one that I really like from YxDock and ObjectDock??

As soon as I find this out, Moby will be back to my main dock. Please some one help !!!!!
