Good job. I've been using this for a while, and I managed to find some problems that maybe you can help me with... I've also included some pictures to help you see what my probs are. Oh, and by the way, I'm using WindowBlinds...
PICTURE 1: LOGOFF DIALOG
- as you can see, this is just a version of your logoff and KoL's Windowblinds one... it's distorted, buttons are different font, etc.
PICTURE 2: SHUTDOWN DIALOG
- this one is basically just Kol's shutdown, but stretched and shortened like the dialog you included. Different font too. As well, I am unable to access hibernate when I press shift and click on sleep.
PICTURE 3: CHANGING APPEARANCE DIALOG
- This one is Kol's and hasnt been really altered by your dialog for this, however, a weird pink square appears at the top right of the dialog.
PICTURE 4: WINDOWBLINDS MENU
- there are many menus like this (in the Windowblinds control panel and other dialogs), however, this is the most apparent example. I'm finding a lot of the text etc in dialogs does not fit the dialog box properly. Instead, it just goes off to the side where I can't access it.
PICTURE 5: CONTROL PANEL
- The icons marked red are the ones I'm pretty sure didn't change by Flyakite SP2. I've tried reinstalling the pack (only the .cpl icons) and rebuilding the icon cache using TweakUI, but it hasn't worked. The yellow icons are ones outside of Flyakite that I have a question about. Does anyone know where the .cpl icons for SigmaTel Audio and Intel ProSet are or how to hack them? Also, the Control Panel icon on the top left that is the same as the WinXP one, is that supposed to be changed or is it supposed to be like that? The ones in my Pictures, My Music, etc, are like this as well. They remain like that despite the theme I use too I think.
Anyway, those are the bugs/errors/problems I've found. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks again for such a tremendous effort, and hopefully I'll hear from you soon
All of these questions can be easily answered.
1,2, and 4 are all due to the same reason: The "Mac Shell Dialogs" font. While it's a cool registry tweak, it forces the system to use the Lucida Grande font for shell dialogs, and due to it's properties XP has to resize dialogs, buttons, controls etc. to make the font work properly. The easiest solution is to run the uninstaller and uninstall the "Mac Shell Dialogs" tweak.
3. Honestly I'm not sure as to the real reason this is happening, but it MAY be due to WindowBlinds. Turn off WindowBlinds and use a visual style. Then change the visual style and when that image pops up, see if it still has the pink.
5. Java didn't change because you don't have the newest version, 1.5 (or listed as 5.0 on the site). TweakUI didn't change either because you didn't install the EXE files, or you don't have TweakUI installed in the system32 directory, or your icon cache needs rebuilt, or you don't have the same version TweakUI as I do. Intel ProSet and the sound icons didn't change because those icons aren't included in my installer.
If anyone ever has odd control panel icons like the Intel ProSet or weird Audio ones, contact me, or send me the file that icon is in to my e-mail, as well as where the file is located, and it can be included in a future update or release.

now its done! :-) new xp with sp2 and your wonderful pack! it looks fantastic!! but i have only 3 little problems...maybe you can help me...
1. the shut down dialog looks very ugly...some aqua elements in front of some from xp....
2. in the control panel, the icon from the firewall dont change..(yes, i rebuild the icon cache)...i think the icon is in the firewall.cpl..but it isnt?
3. in the "open" dialog window, the little icons (go back, go upside, new folder, view) dont change. I think the problem is the comctl32.dll....maybe...i change it only in the system32 folder...but whats up with the files in the winfx folder????

I NEVER should have included that "Mac Shell Dialogs" registry tweak, lol.
First of all, always check the FAQ on my site before you ask a question.
1. Addressed in the post above this and in the FAQ, but for argument's sake: It's due to the "Mac Shell Dialogs" registry tweak. There's no way around it. So if it bothers you run the uninstaller and uninstall that tweak, then restart.
2. This is due to a file called xpsp2res.dll probably not getting installed. If you in fact did rebuild your icon cache, check in the system32 folder and see what the size of your xpsp2res.dll file is. If it's 5.46 then it's my file, if not then it's XP's file.
3. The one in the system32 folder should not be changed. That file has 16 color versions of the toolbar bitmaps. The files in the WinSXS folders contain the toolbars for 32bits.
My recommendation is to run the installer in safe-mode and install the DLL files again. XP was probably restoring those files that the installer was trying to replace, maybe because they didn't get removed from the cache properly. Anyway try installing in safe-mode and that should fix those problems.
hi flyakite.me too has the same problems but with small differences.my shutdown and log off screens are a bit buggy.please see images for prefrerence. the shutdown screens text is a bit pixelated.not that clear.and also the buttons are a bit larger than the screenshots on your website.i already upgraded to service pack 2.but upon installation it still said that there are still some files that cant be replaced.i cant remember it actually but its about five or seven files.i dont know how i can get those kind of file versions that the installer wants.i just pressed ok.and thats it.and thats the only known issues that ive encountered for now.
known problems:
1) the shutdown screen
2) log-off screen
3) the buttons are a bit too large than the usual.

You make me want to slap you. The problem with the dialogs and buttons looking odd is due to the "Mac Shell Dialogs" registry tweak. Read the post above yours, and the post above that, and the FAQ, it's addressed in all those.
The files that probably didn't get replaced are due to an update from Windows Update is my guess, if they were dll files. There was an update released on the 12th. Check Windows Update and see if you have anything there, if so, download it and run the installer again just installing the dll files and they should get replaced.

Woo! Now I've got a system setup where I can track how many times a certain mirror was clicked, and I can monitor the stats through a web admin system. This will even work now if the mirror is posted on another site (well it will only work if it was added after the system was up, since they aren't direct links anymore)
That makes me happy as I had no way of tracking downloads before, other than Alang and Simon's sites with the download counts listed.
And once again, the mailing list IS up and running, and if you were subscribed before you'll have to subscribe again. This time I will be sending out frequent e-mails. I will let people know when new updates are available from Windows Update and what files of mine they will replace. I'll also let everyone know about beta testing, development, new features. I'll take polls on things I'm not sure about, etc. It'll be nice.
Also, tomorrow I will have a donation link setup on the news pages of FlyakiteSP1 and FlyakiteSP2, as well as the contact pages. I'm only doing this because I have honestly had people ask me if there was a way they could donate. I don't mind people asking questions, I like to help out. But with the current user base this project has developed and the amount of repetitive questions I receive, I prefer for you to first use the resources at your disposal, like the site and the FAQ, and THEN ask a question.

Shell font again. I had the same problem when I modded it myself.
To fix it you can use reshack to edit the wbconfig.exe and change all the "MS Sans Serif" to "MS Shell Dlg".
Works perfect. Cept I don't use WB anymore

Actually it's due to windowblinds. I had someone on MSN and we were chatting and I had him turn off WindowBlinds, even though he still had the shell font installed, and the pink was no longer there.

I have 2 things wana request it though...
the adress bar is too wide....and also if I click add or remove programs on control pannel it maxmize to horizonally.....wide...
does everyone have same experience?
The address bar thing is due to the "Mac Shell Dialogs" registry tweak.
Uninstall the tweak from the uninstaller, then restart. Don't ask why it happens, or what you can do to fix it. To fix it, you uninstall it, end of story.
If control panel is maximizing when you open it, then just resize it and close it.

Forgot to tell you, if you install this 2 times, the uninstall doesn't work properly...I guess it's just gona goback previous set....I just tried uninstaller part wasn't successful, so I did uninstall flyakite and just got back to same set......boot skin and loin is there and all the system file is there...remaining....
well last trial system restore point.....for future reference...
Did you restart after the second install? The computer HAS to be restarted for uninstall to work, so it can clear out the backup files for the uninstaller.

I don't think it's font issue....it may be uxtheme.dll issue with sp2.....
which at previous version I didn't see it....
Hey flyakite,Great work mate, I do have a few comments though. When you delete an item from that belongs to the 'all users' group the dialog box reads "would you like to make the phone change permanent?"
This Happens to me as well. It's not a big thing, but worth noting.
