EDIT: Wait, when you say tweaked, tweaked how? What is it exactly that I'm looking at that's different. If you read this e-mail me and let me know, and if it's something that occurs in other dialogs send me some screenshots of those as well so I can get a better idea of what the problem is.

Where you informed that shell32.dll could not be updated due to a file version difference, or did everything seem to install and on restart they didn't change? To check if it was installed, go to WINDOWSsystem32 and right-click shell32.dll and check properties.

If the shell is something like 29mb, it's the right shell, otherwise it's only like 6mb or something small like that. IF then, it the right shell, then probably the icon cache needs to be rebuilt. The installer is designed to delete the icon cache before restart, so that it is rebuilt after restart, but it's possible your iconcache file is located somewhere other than the default location the installer looks for.

If you weren't informed that shell32.dll wasn't installed, then that means it was, BUT was then replaced by Windows with a shell32.dll from another location. Once again, the installer is designed to delete the cache instances of the file, which are located in "WINDOWSServicePackFilesi386" and "WINDOWSsystem32dllcache", but it is possible that your system has a cache somewhere else too that is not present on normal installations of XP with SP2. One way to check is to go to Folder Properties, and check "Show Hidden Files and Folder" and uncheck "Hide Protected Operating System Files". Then run a search on your entire root drive, probably C:. Make sure to expand "Advanced Search Options" then check "Search System Folders", "Search Hidden Files and Folders" and "Search Subdirectories". Then run a search for shell32.dll. Make a note of every location it appears in, and possibly send me a screenshot of the search window in Details view, listing the locations as well. After the screenshot, if you notice that there it exists in other locations than system32, dllcache and servicepackfiles, delete those instances of it (unless it's WINDOWS_BACKUP, that's my folder). Then run the installer again and choose shell32.dll and it should work.

And I consider IceMan to be the godfather only because he seems to be the one (to me) that got people really interested in OS X emulation, with his site and his system files, themes, icons, etc, it was a great all-in-one resource back when. But I know you have done a lot for the community as well, and I definitely respect you and your work. And if Iceman learned from you, due to the quality of his work, you obviously taught him well

But how becuause when i take a picture with the print screen button and alt, it comes out big. i seen other people post pics of their desktops on the boards but how did they make it smaller than 31 kb

It isn't in any other area, but the shell32.dll I have is 6.118mb.

any other ideas?

Hmmm Duckie, try giving it a go in Safe Mode. If I remember correctly, in previous editions of my installer users that couldn't seem to get the files to replace in normal mode could get them to replace in Safe Mode.

If that doesn't work then I'm stumped, as I've never seen a file NEVER get replaced if it doesn't exist in some weird ass cache location.

EDIT: This isn't directed at anyone, but please always check the FAQ before you post a question, just to let everyone know. Issues that get discovered (like this, if it truly does work in safe mode) will then be posted in the FAQ. And since I don't have access to my PC at the moment I can't edit the FAQ, but I will redo the FAQ to have an index at the top so you can easily see an overview of all the questions.

I know what it is. I've seen it before. That's an issue with your fonts.

get the right fonts or uninstall the ones you have and re-install new, uncorrupted ones.

Great to hear that it worked Duckie. And yeah I forgot to mod the Properties string, slipped my mind. And while I would love to remove the & from the dialogs, I'll have to take a poll to see if users would mind if it was gone. There are occassions I'm sure where some people need to use the keyboard to navigate menus, so if they can't see what the right shortcut is for menu items it might screw them up. I'll see though for a future release.

try using/finding the Soulless version

I have LucidaMAC and LucidaMAC Bold as well as 2 Grade Versions Bold and normal...How am I supposed to tell if the font is corrupted?

uninstall all of those and get new versions of them. like duckie said, search this site for the term 'soulless' it's a set of type 1 fonts that has lucidagrande, lucidamac, amongst others.

i forgot to comment about the underlined letters... i'm probably not showing most people anything new with this, though... if you don't want to see them normally, you can go into the display properties, appearance tab, and the button effects. check off 'hide underlined letters for keyboard navigation until i press the alt key'

anyone can help me. i want to use the iceman icon set. is there a posibility of using it in flyakitesp2 without using a third party program like iconpackager. please help. i hate looking these icons: my document, my pic, my music, my movie and other folders. they dont look smoth.

Whoa seph, sorry about that. I just pulled the link to your mirror off the download page for now. Thanks for the hosting though, VERY much appreciated.

So I calculated roughly what 25,000mb divided by 30mb was, and it comes out to about 830+ times. 830 people. Goodness. Not to mention Alang's site has had about 150 so hits, and I have no idea what the other mirrors or bittorrent links have received. Good stuff.

And I just checked my site stats and since the release I've pulled down about 1.5 gigs of bandwidth. And keep in mind that's only pretty much serving images and screenshots, since I don't host the files on my server, or at least I don't to the public.

By the way, for those interested. Now that I've finished the enormous task that FlyakiteSP2 v1.0 was for me, I'm going to work on the last and very final version of FlyakiteSP1 so that it's quality will match FlyakiteSP2 v1.0.

So for those of you planning on sticking with SP1 for quite some time, don't worry a new, much better version is around the corner. (Before anyone asks, no I don't ever take breaks, lol... or sleep it would seem, at least lately)

Aw...Seph getting mean, how cute . I think what steelfist means is will it have a Tiger MsStyles theme, like SP2 did in the screenshots.
