damn... damn... damn... :rant:
It take me +2 hours to recover my previous state...
This installer replace some files... and others not... Yes that happend...
And I have to write a simple program to recover the originals names that this installed replace (all that files with 00000#s name). About +120 files...
btw, it copy (this installer) everything in system32 directory. There isnt selected directories to install... Just copy everything to system32 and nothing else matter :rant:
And to end, I just keep with the shell32 file... Just replace the original with this OSX version, just to take a look. I replace it in the traditional way, no installer, no thing. Just by hand. Just copy and replace.
And I get this when I execute an utility... Just look at the attachment...

because hes trying to do u guys a favour :rant: . he says it works on his system, and we cant expect anymore. like all projects there are going to be bugs when tested in the community, but simply handing out non-constructive crap wont solve anything. so lets try and make ourself's useful and contribute towards getting the problem fixed.

Hello all,
I have made a install package that backups your files, has an uninstaller, applies Pack's
Registry Keys, and installs without shuting down all programs and doesnt require you to enter a password.
Im now waiting for Pack's OK.
For the files with overwrite protection, my installer copys modded files and at next reboot modds your files.

all i can say is that i hope the file is hosted on an equally fast server! i was pulling in 100kb/s for about 80% of the file!.....
then after reading thru this thread i aborted it.......

i set a restore point, and backed up all my dll's, just in case something was funky.

That IS supposed to happen.
Pack told us that it would....even if you replace the files the non-installer way.

Glad to see someone's on my side.. :cry:
1) I did not manually replace my system files before installing this, that's how I know it replaced mine.
2) This does NOT dump all the files in System 32. It installs the files where needed (PCHEALTH, WINDOWS and System32 folders).
3) As DinoJr said, the POINT of this installer is replace system files Blade. 
4) I'll post some screenshots today.
5) That error someone posted on Page 2 (sorry, can't remember name) happens even if you replace the files manually. As Pack said: replacing the shell32.dll effects the system and means that a few .exe files (including calc.exe) won't work. That is STATED on the first post of his thread. I assumed people who were going to use this had already viewed that thread and become accustomed with the idea.
If everyone who said it didn't work would send a screenshot of their task manager processes just before they try using the installer. Thanks

Says who? I don't see one member who said "and I didn't set a restore point...".
Not to bruise your ego but I would have done it even without your advice. So I guess we're not all stupid after all and you may have to wait a little longer for the title of Major Domo.

With respect - and yes, as a programmer, I know the complications and the work involved, if everyone who has tried your installer has failed then I think it fair to assume that, for the time being at least, it's a dud and needs some work before releasing. At the very least, it seems that it may need to be installed in a certain environment, particular settings, etc.
My advice to others, for what it's worth, is not to attempt the installer until further investigation and/or modification has been made.
Don't think by reading this that I don't appreciate your effort, I certainly do. I hope to see the fixed version some time soon.

I agree, but it is rather infuriating when ten or so people just says 'it doesn't work' without supplying any information on what their system is like. I'd also guess that some people didn't read the Readme at all (I had to tell a friend over AIM three times to read it because he just assumed it said 'you need SP1').
I'll have at look at it today, and as I said in my last post: If people who have failed could please take a screenshot of their Task Manager before installing (remember you need to close EVERYTHING, this INCLUDES the Task Manager) then we can probubly figure out the problems quicker.

hehe. You should know by now, people never read the readme. (Play reverse psychology and rename it to "Ignore me at all costs.txt" . )

Windows XP Pro (Build 2600.xpsp2.030422-1633 : Service Pack 1.)
Pentium 4 : 200
Some previously modded cpl's and application icons. (Internet Explorer, Windows Explorer come to mind immediately.)
Obviously I didn't take a screenshot of my tasks because I didn't realise I'd need to and I'm too cautious to attempt a second install.
Maybe it's just a case of clearer instruction needed, who knows... Good luck with it either way.

That 'crappy' shell32.dll was not made by me, it was made by Pack and if it's such crap work then why is it one of the most popular in this community and why are you bothering to use it?
And if you want to install it by hand, download the .zip from Pack's thead and spend the three hours to install it.
Why dont we wait until the other installer comes out so we dont have to kill all processes and go through all of that?
Please post screenshots of what this installer does.

Any installer released would require you to close all applications, unless it was something very special. Is booting into Safe mode such a hassle?
no its not a hassle at all, but some people dont know that, and it seems the only way to get this to work is to install in safe mode, so perhaps you should have mentioned it. Im not trying to be a wiseguy, but most people that couldnt get it to work, myslef included didnt know safe mode was required, ive installed sysfiles before with just killing explorer, and it worked fine.
Have people tried using it in Safe Mode? Could they say if it works please?
