ArKaNiS, The non skinned buttons are because you do not have the gtk-engines-pixmap OR gtk-engines-pixbuf.

Any current distro should have it, at least on the cd's.

i will edit my main post to include, Must Have Gtk Pixmap/Pixbuf Engine Installed.

indiix2, mind showing a sshot of your Text?

and i just noticed you said you are using an LCD, i think this is where the problem is coming from.

jefmsmit, Im not sure, What nautilus version?

I'm using nautilus 2.6.0 as came out of the box with Fedora Core 2.

I have figured out your problem, By Default Gnome-theme-manager extracts icon themes to .themes Instead of .icons , So icon themes must be extracted by hand to ~/.icons lil GNOME glitch there, it doesnt know the difference between Icon themes and GTK/Metacity themes therefore just extracts everything to .themes.

indiix2, Im not sure whats up, I have seen though font smoothing differs a little from distro to distro, what distro ya runnin ?

#165782

I'm using Debian testing.

Have you noticed that your "tabs" get smaller when they are highlighted. The main problem is mozilla. Epiphany is fine. But mozilla seems to have such small tabs that when made even smaller go right through the title and favelet icon.

3. Does anyone out there know how you can change the "show desktop" icon that is used in the bottom panel? The Gno-SX icon theme changes the "Show Desktop" launcher button in the menu, but the little charcoal looking desktop with pencil icon is a mystery. I've looked in /user/share/icons and even in gconf to try to change this to something else.

I'll answer my own question. Replace the png /usr/share/pixmaps/gnome-show-desktop.png with whatever png you want and log off/on.

#171081

K will add gnome-show-desktop.png to the theme ;)

as well as try to fix mozilla issue, The thing with mozilla is they use their own gtk code in places. and it is really their problem for not using standard size widgets, the buttons are off, tabs, others too.. I use epiphany is why the bugs snuck into release though.

#171256

Thanks GrandMasta. I used the xscreensaver.png from your icons theme for my gnome-show-desktop.png.

If you can't fix the mozilla it's understandable, i figured it was their problem (they have the same issues with the "drop-down" buttons in the address bar area and in the search area in the side bar). I would much rather use epiphany, the problem is they don't support multiple-tab homepages and i have like 6 pages that i like loaded up when i open up my browser, as soon as they support that i will move over to them.

I have also noticed problems in GAIM. If you have the "close" button turned "on" on the tabbed chat/im windows, they are screwed uplooking. It's like gaim doesn't give you enought space to draw them properly.

Other than those issues, most everything else looks perfect. Thanks for all your hard work!

#171432

bumpedy bump.

#186298

Awesome theme !!! Thank You.

Will you make an icon for the 'File Manager' (Nautilus - non-spatial view)? It currently has a dull yellow/brown icon(file-cabinet) in the the stock theme.

Thanx!

#192240

file-manager icon added, as well as various app and mimetype icons added as well.

#192454

Oh Man, thank you for the 'File Manager' icon. I wish I had also requested one for File-Roller(...somehow the little yellow steam-roller just doesn't quite fit the rest of the look). AbiWord and OpenOffice would be nice as well. If you have time, these would be great too.

Not sure if this is a limitation of the GTK2 toolkit or just Epiphany, but the little 'red-dots' for closing tabs is getting truncated on the left-right edges. A minor cosmetic issue. The toolbar is _such_ an improvement over the standard GTK icons.

Thanx, again

#193488

OK, I noticed that it is not possible to tell which option you are on when presented a button-box, i.e. a 'Remember Password' dialog box in Epiphany with buttons to 'YES', 'NO', 'NEVER FOR THIS SITE'. It is hard to tell which button is selected while using the TAB key to go between. Maybe this is a GTK2 problem(!?).

Thanx, again

#193515

I am working on widget Focus, found some cool stuff :) will release update soon.

#194317

cool. i like this work men.

#205116

hey there... I just found out about your theme, but I'm using gnome 2.8. Should I try to install it or will it flat-out break my gnome?

#221653

Odd how noone has addressed the question about why this wasnt ported to/used with KDE

#225085

Not getting the shadows under my windows...any ideas?

#283945

window shadows are achieved using Xorg Xserver and the composite program 'xcompmgr'

The Tiger version of Gno-SX is lurking ready to pounce..stay tuned everyone ;)

#288296

Initial Release

Gno-SX Gnome Total Conversion.

#299147

Hey the new theme looks like it is coming along great! What is the good word on it being Cairo ready? I think it would really rule if Gno-SX was one of the first Cairo ready themes when Gnome 2.12 drops. I don't know what all is involved with such things however so maybe it isn't possible.

Keep up the good work!

#308145

Grandmasta... Is that last screenshot a Linux one?

Thank you for sharing this awesome work

#310482

GM, I am not normally one to do this, but...

Any update on the release or a beta?

I only ask because it was about 5 months ago that you said a release was days away and 3 months since your changelog.

Thanks.

#319880

Looks like the last time GM was around these parts was 3 weeks ago, so I wouldn't expect him to drop by anytime soon... :slant:
