damn thats nice!

im going to install it right now!

#54876

it looks great, but why didnt u use kde with its menu at the top support. It to me would seem the IDEAL enviroment for emaculation.

#54879

Beautiful. You really are a master.

There are loads of crappy themes for Linux, and few go through the trouble of making it realistic, and we all really appreciate your hard work.

Im downloading gnome 2.4 now. :rule:

Isn't gDesklets fun. :D

#54883

okay that is the BEST osx replication i have ever seen.. i personaly think gnome can be so much better looking then kde.. and im glad there is gdesklets now... thats amazing!!!!!!

#54898

Stunning, exactly what I've been looking for... and I've been looking for AGES hehe :)

#54933

Do i need another program to make those buttons look like in the screenshot? I figured out in the first screenshot theres a program called gtk theme switch. I've downloaded it (GTK Theme Switch 2.0 rc) but i dont know how to install it. I tried commonly used method (unpack the tar.gz, ./configure, make, make install) but nothing happens other than error message). Could somebody help me? I guess its a silly question but im still learning linux. > :(

#54945

Hi!

The first link.: GTK2.x.x.x.tar.gz BROKEN!

Please post the new link...

Thanks!

#55026

same here link not working.

BTW.. I think this should be posted in the news section, if a release of a few wallpapers is big enought to make it there I don't see why this complete make-up of the gnome desktop is not.

#55042

Link fixed. somehow the file just disappeared from my host?!

Thanks all for the kind words. Updated to include shadowed and non shadowed Wallpaper,

#55045

wow, excellent work!

One question, what are you using for the dock? I gather the screenshot is of Gnome, and there is a dock available for KDE only (I think..)

#55057

Taha I asume he is using the dock that comes with gDesklets.

#55060

Very nice theme! :D

Isnt there a good-looking theme like this for Enlightenment or FluxBox/BlackBox? I dont realy like KDE or Gnome :(

#55141

Mmmmm i`m using winXp and Mandrake linuX 9.1, but i have no idea about how can i use my modem motorola with it... and not only that ... now i can`t use my Mouse :(... but for last but not least i can`t see from WinXp my LinuX files....... Danm !!! well...

Who knows .... this is my bad fate .....

#55143

Ok i got to say this..... (it is just my point of view)

i don`t think mode linuX like a Mac os X is so cool.....

i mean LinuX has its own Look its own Way...... maybe mode LinuX in some cultures could be a "Sin" hehe... well what i really want to say is " LinuX is LinuX" ... yeah.. should be unique look different to windows and macs be like an "alien Ware".

that`s why i use linux since so many time ago. just because it is Our beloved LinuX .... but it is ok... i think You HAVe Done a Great Job Dude ...... !!!!!

Good Luck . !

bye :)

#55149

amazing work again Grand Masta!!!

Thank you for making Linux beautiful

{shut it contra ;)}

just wondering if gdesklets is any easier to install in gnome 2.4 I had terrible trouble in gnome 2.2 on MDK 9.1 and gave up after installing pygtk about 10 times

Ingeneer Mind: start a new thread or better still, visit this great forum: http://www.mandrakeusers.org

#55150

>> i mean LinuX has its own Look its own Way......

and "linuX"? I dont get it? Whats with the "X"?

Taha: It is gDesklets. Its a "display" called "SensorBar". Its actually MUCH nicer than ksmoothdock (though its more CPU intensive).

Fissy: Its kind of GNOME independant.

{shut it contra }

Nope, Linux is ugly. :P

#55156

*Damn , hes worked it out guys*

seriously... why don't you just let people get it wrong?

you must realise people will never stop thinking of linux as being their operating system rather than just a kernel

edit: the configure script seemed to get near the end and quit, complaining something like pygtk =< pygtk2.00

It was annoying to see it keep doing that after you've just installed the dependency (urpmi'd it)

It told me to change pkg_config options... i am just not good enough to manage that.

I gave it a go and couldn't find the line it complained about.

:'(

#55162

Well no, I wasnt referring to the "Linux == Kernel" thing, I was refering to: "linux != one GUI". So saying that Linux "is ugly" is you know, wrong. blah blah blah.

EDIT:

to change your PKG-CONFIG path, do:

export PKG_CONFIG_PATH=/usr/local/lib/pkgconfig

obviously changing the directory to the directory with the *.pc file its looking for.

Also, make sure pygtk is v.2.0.0, if its older, it may not work.

Lastly, make sure you download the latest gDesklets, a new version came out yesterday.

#55165

thanks for the tip.. i'll give it another go before leaving it until mdk 9.2

Grand Masta: do you need any help finding icons?

#55171

WOW! Amazing! Even though I'm using XP and have no idea how to use Linux :shy: I was wondering though, what program that is in that very last screenshot, and if I can get it for windows.

#55282

The program is Rhythmbox.

There is a program called MUSIK, its very much like that program, but its for Windows.

#55285

Ok .The theme is very very COOL but i have a big problem...

Could someone help me.

I had a RedHat 9 with Gnome 2.2.1 and this is my problem:

-the icons from theme work good -the metacity works good

BUT when i use Gtk2 everything is not good , the theme works but in my Gnome

i have now problems (bugs) when i shutdown-change gtk2 to another theme the gnome is back good.

I know i have Gnome 2.2.1 and it is recomended Gnome 2.4.0 but

i am Linux Beginier and i don't know how to upgrade my gnome.

I download gnome 2.4 but this is sources files and i don't know how to install.

Another question is how to change icons from menu (aplet) aplications where is it

i try right click but it said that this is only read file > for example i won't to change

Office icon from menu.... ???

Thanks for help !!!

Sory for my english.hehe

#55299

I must say nice work.

A few questions though, how do reverse the Close, Minimize, and Maxmize buttons ?

How do make the dock at the bottom ? Mines stuck up at the top.:(

and how do you change the throbber in nautilus ? Mine is still the old gnome one after setting it up.

Now for a quick suggestion.

Why are the icons pretty much all 48x48 ? They look horrible when the dock moves over them. I want 128x128 :shy:

#55324

 how do i install this?
