Yes i tried the shorcut. But it's not what i want. When i open ssmenu.exe, i have a small icon that appears in my OB taskbar (so like in the windows taskbar), but in OB i can't tape anything whereas in the windows one, i can. Isn't there anything i can do ...

Hi I'm having the same problem as sharknut - GDS is working fine (index complete), but I can't get Searchspy to do anything. I enter a word, nothing happens.

but is there any possitibilty for me to edit the resources? (i'd like to edit the image!)

1. The only resource you would find is the icon and an arrow. All the gradients are drwan by software.
2. No, i'ts not possible 
Is ist normal that SearchSpy won't display the file, e.g. "rose.jpg" until I type thoe whole word ROSE? In GDS the result "rose.jpg" will be displayed when typing "ros" without the "e".
Another example is "Battlefield 2" - it only will display the result when typing the whole thing, "batllefield" is not enough.
Is this fixable? Anyway - a GREAT Clone!
No it's not. At least it's not on GDS v1 or v2. That's because the results google desktop sends to the app are not related to these kind of querries.
With the new COM method to get results in Google Desktop 3, i hope It became possible. But I haven't tested yet.
Please let us know if you can tweak this - would be a great enhancement!

i uninstalled the searchspy. However, the index process seems still running after some time idling.. Is there any way to stop this process ?
Tha's because you removed it with the indexex running. The indexer was causing simply to many porblems. that's why I removed it on 1.1.
You should run
killtask /im SearchSpyIndex.exe
and then delete the folder where searchSpy was installed.
SearchSpyIndex.exe is not found on my system anymore. There is also no task like this running. I deleted the Search Spy directory some time ago...
Is there any possibility to stop the indexing now, because its of coz useless now...

erm i dont know how to activate from objectbar...can someone upload a simple objectbar script that will run the program from its default install location?
i mean like spotlight.obbar sort of thing. i could edit an existing one, but i cant find any bars that just run a program.

I really love SearchSpy, it's the best working spotlight clone at the moment.
But I have a few things to say:
What kind of icon is it at the right in the file list? sorry it looks ugly ^^ so I'd really like to change it, and by the way: It looks as if you're using windows list boxes so I do not really have any hope that it's possible to kill those "windows dots" arround the selected item... or do you have an idea?
And I'd love!! to translate it into german
ok nvm about the objectbar problem i fixed it.
how much memory does the searchspymenu use? ive found that if i get a search with excessive results my page file climbs by 300mb!

2. enjoying SearchSpy tremendously
3. i think i stumble upon a small BUG
a. start the search dialog box
b. type in h = ok
c. type in o (ho) = ok
d. type in t (hot) = it hangs and then after a few moment, it shuts itself out, gone from the process list also
tried different commbinations, indexing first, with capital HOT ot Hot or hOt or hOT = same problem
may be it is just me
