When my computer goes on standby or i lock the screen (whitch i have standby set to do) or even when i just use fast user switching, it pops up a bunch of dialogs saying Acess Denied. The program then needs to be restarted. Other than this, it works great.

I won't create nightly build with small fixes. I prefer a bigger release with everything fixed.

The "SearchSpyIndex.exe" never worked, so I used the files.dbs created by an "external" locate.
Is this some kind of bug? If yes, is it considered to be solved on the next big release.

yeah, umm my problem is a bit unique. I had it working. I had tried it with and without GDSv2, and it worked. Now, since I reinstalled it(system restore issue), it has stopped working. any ideas why? GDSv2 is still installed. the only way in which it doesn't work is that when i click on it (its on the objectbar thing that looks like spotlight in the tiger theme) it shows up with the little search box, but whenever I type anything my PC freezes up. If i unload objectbar and use it via the system tray, it works, slowly. and before you suggest, I have already made sure that the -noicon parameter is in place
Can we change Spotlight icon? I'm using KOL First Tiger release msstyles. You know, there is a wide the spotlight icon. Is it possible?

weird! Nobody had this problems. Could you pease search for something into Google Desktop, then add &format=xml to the end of the line? Tell me if you can do this.
I never heard about this parameter,can someone pm me how i can use it?
-noicon will hide the tray icon to objectbar users.
Also, in the Options tab of the preferences window, changing the rightclick menu results from window to SearchSpy does not save when restarting the application and reverts back to "Windows" upon a restart.
Also, with SearchSpy's right click menu selected, rightclicking on returned results and choosing: "open folder" does not return the proper directory with the desired file but returns another folder containing one of the results in the list. (misaligned?)
Also, when you first click on the systray icon, the searchbar appears with the cursor blinking in the text field, this leads me to start typing a search immediately, but I discover that the text field does not have focus and I need to re-click back into the text field... Could this be fixed so that once the systray icon is clicked, the text field would be have focus to immediately start typing?
All those three issues seem to be fixed. The fix will be avaliable on nezt release

I'm looking for a way to fix it. The only thing I recomend is: LET YOUR COMPUTER IDLE for at least 15 minutes to see if the index is created or not.

Can be add adjustment for change of a font?
Hmm. I have no idea what font suports Russian symbols and looks like mac (suggestions are wellcome )
An option to change the font of the whole app may bring a bit of work by me. And now I don't have time to.
A very good thing! It's a pity it cannot work with cyrillic letters. Or it's me he cannot. I am from Belarus. Many my files have cyrillic names and I nave problem. But very good appl.

Sorry, but I don't understand the indexer program thing. If I don't like GDS, must I download and install Locate, or this new version of SearchSpy brings Locate inside? Thank you! 
Currently if you don't have GDS installed, Searchspy will automatically select and install the Locate option. Indexing by Searchspy should start after 15mins of idle time. This should all happen automatically.
Hi SpyGamer, how are you? I have a couple of questions/doubts/suggestions.
When I search and go to the SearchSpy window, there you can sort files by list and details. It is possible to make SearchSpy remember this preference? If not, the user is always forced to change the sort config everytime.
Another thing. Right in this same window, we can see the date and hour of the creation of the file we are looking for.
I think that it would be greater having there more other options to know about this files, like the file's size.
I know... we can see the entire properties pushing the " i " button, but... it would amazing just to change from 'date' to 'size' for example... (SearchSpy would be remembering this setting), and then we could search and find, and see all the information we want from any file without touching the keyboard! 
I think that we are always most interested in the files size or the folder they're in, instead of the date and hour. Or maybe it's just me? 
I think that this few details could make of SearchSpy the most complete tool for searching files and even navigating.

How is this holding up compared with Copernic Desktop Search, frequently proclaimed as the best Desktop Search Utility , which is a lot better and uses less resources than GDS?
Has any1 looked at Copernic DS?
I have. Used it for a while. The problem is that copernic has no plug-ins and slowed down my computer. GDS is the only utily that realy index your hdd only once. the other's keep reindexing it many times
