Nope. Thats not the one that get deleted. The one thats get deleted is my thread. The links that I given is a similar thread that being posted on April (reason why my thread being closed and deleted)
Problems With Admins/mods...
where and what did you post, please be specific for "me" ![]()
What is this Reputation Mod you may ask, well if you got something bad to say about someone press the [ - ] link and leave your comment, people who abuse this, will be set on a restrictive account and can not post and they will look like a total idiot by us ![]()
if you got something nice to say about someone give them props [ + ] and leave a nice feedback, by doing this you will help new people to the boards see who its respected, who gives good info and what not, and might just decide new mods around here maybe? who knows
also these things are logged and will be checked frequently. ![]()

I started a new poll yesterday. Name of the poll is what is your gender. Then the poll is closed by contrasutra because he said poll with the same topic just being posted about two days ago. The thread is already deleted.
So I do a search again and found a post that similar to my thread that last posted was on April.
I didn't have any negative thinking about admins/mods here because you all have done a terrific jobs. I just need an explanation and supports.
yea but where did you post it, what forum.

There was a thread asking if you were a male female or other. I remeber it because I replied that I was a program created by the CIA to learn who to communicate with other humans. I can't find it anymore however. The thread title was not straight forward on what the question was. That's also where we found out that Liron is female.
I started the thread it was called cognitive necessity and subtitle was are you a he or a she... i think thats pretty straight forward... isnt it?

I think the thread was deleted, I can't find it anywhere. Again, deleting of a thread without no trace. This is ubsurd! A thread was closed because there was another thread just like it that got deleted that was not even going against the rules! This is what we all mean by thread disappearing with no due process.
Originally posted by wizard@Oct 22 2003, 09:56 AM...threads disappearing with no due process.
Due process is a difficult thing to define, and the Supreme Court has not been much help over the years. Here's what we can say about due process:
In the Magna Carta, due process is referred to as "law of the land" and "legal judgment of his peers." Some state constitutions continue to use these phrases.
The reference in the 5th Amendment applies only to the federal government and its courts and agencies. The reference in the 14th Amendment extends protection of due process to all state governments, agencies, and courts.
Due process, in the context of the United States, refers to how and why laws are enforced. It applies to all persons, citizen or alien, as well as to corporations.
But this is all moot since these boards do not adhere to the laws of the US or any other nationality.
I has its OWN rules
Hmm...I never thought I'll have to complain...
Something sad happened.
There's a topic called 'Who are you?' People post some words about themselves there. I think it's very good and strenghtens us as a community but it's not the point now.
The point is that our beloved master Duckie posted there something like 'Hi, I'm a resident asshole here I think this thread is gay and it soon be deleted'. Something like that. I was REALLY surprised (in a bad way) and confused. I always thought that admins and mods are here to spread their wisdom and rule this site to make it a very comfortable place for our 7500+ members. I answered something like 'calm down, man', no offence. Very cautious words. Someone posted something like this too, Duckie answered that he's not aggressive and blah blah. Goku, you know what I mean. I went there today and it all was gone! Only *normal* posts left...
I am very disappointed with this act of censorship. The ability to delete the posts actually lets you (the crew) be irresponsible for what you write. It's only an option, I know, but using it is IMO very unfair. You can always erase your mistakes. We can't (regular members). I don't say I want to have 'delete' button. I'd like everyone to be responsible, understanding, with distance and equal.
Control can get out of control.
yea I de- admin'd duckie the other day maybe he'll start to see it....
I wasn't going to add anymore to what I had already said before, but I felt I needed to.
Timan, Apparently there are a few other mods that could use the same treatment.
You now, I really was hoping this thread would do some good, in a sense it has, in a sense it has not done anything. There are still a few mods out there that are just plain rude and very un-respectfull. If I didn't feel that there would be any retaliation by some, I would complain, but the few times I have, I nearly got lynched.
This forum really has become unpleasant sometimes, and it scares me to see what is going on. Moderators should be here to help, not to make rude comments, not to discriminate or have biased opinions. Everyday, there are new people that become members here, and it is, as with any new member to any forum or group, normal that they might not know the ways we reel and deal here at Aqua-soft. Yes I know there are rules that they can read, but as any eager new member, they want to jump right in. This does NOT warrant for any snide remarks, or closing their threads. And if they created something to add to the community whether it is good or bad, mods should be a helping hand, not a vulcher trying to devouer them as fast as they can.
Please help in making this community better, not worse!
Has anyone seen the News post by Goku praising the ATM program released by iHartmacz but closed by contrasutra? Contra said that if he has any problems then talk to goku, like he was the one ordered to close the thread. Shouldn't the news thread prasing the ATM prog be deleted or changed to less further any confusion of the member? I know I was confused as hell and I'm use to these nonsense things occuring.

Peter,
Duckie did lots of mistakes and got demoted (till i talked to him for like 2 hours hoping things will look better on).
I noticed people say words such as Ghey or Gay as a reference to something bad or sh##ty (like I'm a pure soul :harp: ). I myself condem those who publically talk like that in our board, even as a joke, and specially when they have power over it. Of course, we have all kinds of people in here and I completely agree with you, it wasnt a funny remark and it was actually that tiny straw that broke the camel's back. Of course, nobody is perfect either, and its not like its the first time you see those things on the board.
Regardless, there is no point in leaving all the 3 pages of crap duckie and you guys were talking about even if I was completely against that really out of the blue remark. Its not like I'm trying to balance things so a staff member like duckie wont feel left out, but only to clean bitter unrelated discussions in "who are you".
Also, think how it would look like if i deleted duckie's posts only, what point does it have to make? We've had zillions of really violent debates in the forum earlier in 2002 and people went off saying really easily harsh things out loud. I honestly dont visit the site to spare my precious and divine time to judge cases and write novels in the name of righteousness. I just keep it in tact as much as I can. Of course, I hunt down the aszholes the best I can (which is my main concern here in A/S). Trust me, I, like you have been upset with duckie's points of view lately, and he wether he disagrees or not, the majority of the staff set a path that others gotta tag along.
As much as I disagreed with duckie a lot (and we've had our discussions), essentially, he IS the father of the aqua emulation.
Timan is the mother (.."Please..."). :timmie:
Me and other buddies that were growing outside what was auqa-soft, leeching his hotline server that contained things nobody ever had (back at the days when 10.0.5 was just worked on over and over and pre-released MORE than 3 years ago). The guy has been around mac emulation even before that.
I'm simply shading that important brief of history of homie D cause people are oblivious to his glorified past. Even if he grew old, and old people are typically bitter and stubburn with an iron grip, they still should get their respect. :moon:
If you see duckie's last hanging teeth while he screams at you having one eye bigger than the other, and you freaked out, come to me, I'll cain him and tell him a bird did it. So keep up the reports as u always do.
Goku
I discussed the ATM with Goku, we were in agreement.
I simply forgot about the news post.
It seems like people have unreasonable expectations of mods. WE ARE HUMAN. Therefore, we ARE bias and hypocritical sometimes. Live with it, we are still people, and are still members of this board.
C'mon, how happy would you be if I NEVER posted except to close a thread? ![]()
Well contra, we are human and you were right about the Quartz extreme requirements (meaning I was wrong
)
Contra, we are here to serve and manage the board as best as we can leaving our problems to the side. When it comes to be an example to others then we should be as objective as possible. (Y) The point of this thread: "Problems with admins/mods"; If a staff member fukks up a lot, then actions should be taken immidiately. If its minor, negligible cases, we note if for future work. But saying "hey we're just people", isnt fair for us all and would push members to the corner, leaving them feel hopeless.
Of course, members shouldnt get too whambulanced sensitive about irrelevant flamed posts deleted like in "who are you". Im willing to bet right now I got more deleted posts than any member registered since nov 2002.
Goku: Well, I obviously meant that we should try our best, but I get annoyed when people say things like:
"Mods should be completly objective."
C'mon, that's not possible. You think i'm going to delete a thread promoting linux? ![]()

Goku
Thank you very much Goku.
My last two cents (I hope):
I think that such an act of deleting stupid looking things should be settled with people taking part in such a discussion if it isn't a flame war or something unacceptable. I'm thinking about cases like this one. I'd like to be informed about my normal posts being deleted. This is a forum, we're (mainly) here to talk and it's a little bit not fair to shut people's mouth without any explanation. Well, I can get over with that, but how about ****ies?
How about a notification system with a possibility of adding a comment from mod when the case is touchy?
I'm embarassed. I wish this discussion never happened. Let's get back to emulating! :give up:
I really hate to bump this thread, but I just got done with five pages of responses and felt compelled to add in my 2 cents. In my short time here, I have really grown to love this place, and have particularly enjoyed the benefits that go along with it.
A forum with over 10,000 voices needs control and rules. That is the bottom line. I admit that I wasn't all that eager to read the rules when I first joined. I wanted to download some app or read some post, but got a response that I had to be a member to do so. I wasn't thinking about the other 9,999 members when doing so. So I joined and immediately posted. Then I did another one or two. In fact, I was probably 10 or so posts deep before I started to use the search button. Probably 20 before I changed it from "past 30 days" to "any date". again, it was about me and my interests.
I say all this because I feel like there are a lot of people that have joined this forum for the same reasons that I did, and that just wanted to get that app or read that post. Knowing that may or may not serve as helpful information, but it must be true since I know I was like that. It doesn’t mean that people won’t grow to be such aqua enthusiasts as the higher-ups around here, but not everyone has the good of the community in mind when joining. Not everyone even realizes that this is a community when first joining. I hope that whoever is reading this keeps those simple facts in mind when dealing with others. People have to learn how to act in this forum; you don’t just join and suddenly become this totally different person. I have been a member of several other forums, but none for as long as I have here and it’s just because I like this stuff so much.
My experiences with the mods have been pretty positive, and I haven't had any [to my knowledge] posts deleted or edited. Maybe it’s just because I haven't posted enough or said enough dumb "mr. hankey". Obviously I have read some posts and responses that have been sassy or whatever, but feel that overall, the mods really add more than they take away. I know that if you're reading this post and had one of your topics edited or deleted you may not agree, but that is my opinion.
outlandish suggestions
1. If you want to limit people making stupid mistakes or posting in the wrong forum, maybe you should make up a little quiz that people have to answer before posting. Maybe you give them permission to read threads, but not post until that quiz has been returned.
2. You could also make up a suggested readings package for new members. You get some obvious posts where people messed up, the history of AS, how to use the search function (and click on any date), proper responding, etc. and give it to the newest members to read. Maybe some won't bother to read it, but I bet some will.
God, it’s starting to sound like school
3. Limit membership. Design teknika (sp?) did it and it pissed me off for so long that I couldn't register with that site (still can't  ) but if you closed up membership for a little while you may lower the stupid factor.
In all there isn't too much bad about this place. In fact I think it's pretty damn good, but we can always make it better and I think it starts with the admins and the mods. People see what you do and say and use that as standards. I was just reading the new safari thread here where there was a possible problem with spamming and hated to see that things got so out of hand and off topic. For an announcement of that type, it's a shame that people will have to jump to page 4 to get back to posts that are related to the actual app. I’m not trying to point any fingers or piss anyone off, but I think my point stands.
One final point to make then I will end this post. I have really gotten sick and tired of people who have become mods in their own minds (johnny-fake-mods as I call them) pestering people about "have you gotten permission for this" and "you will get banned for that". If people make really egregious errors, then someone can send a mod a pm about it. There’s no sense in trying to exert power that one doesn’t have in a thread that may or may not have broken a rule. Making helpful suggestions is one thing, but stifling and demeaning others is another.
I personally don’t think some people get enough credit around here, namely Timan for running the show and the developers for making such great apps, and I thought it best to add that in at the end. That’s pretty much how I feel about this place at the moment, and I’ll be interested on looking back at this post down the line once I get some more experience under my belt. Until then, rock on :rule: .
