I am new here but looking at the posts and locks, I could say two things.
Mods are exteremely rude sometimes
Threads are locked without any comment
Dav: If you got suspended, maybe you should take a hint.
They can ban your IP. I just hope you dont have NetZero.

These two things happen for one reason- members who do not read the rules.
Sorry if the mods are rude at times, but you have to realize that most of what we say goes unheeded. Rules are frequently ignored, which is enough to make any mod cranky.
And usually, mods state why they close threads (usually the last post in a closed thread. If they don't you can bet that it's because it was a post that directly violated the forum rules, which could only mean one thing- the poster didn't read the rules in the first place.

well look when mods edit your posts you can see the edited by line but if you cant see that edited by line doesnt that mean it was done by an admin?

Well I have completely kept my posts as neutral as possible. But one thing that really pissed me off about Duckie was when I posted "I was the first to release a skinned theme for System Prefs app" He popped in to say he was the first. I then posted back that he may have been the first to make one, but he didn't post his first I did. Shortly there after my reply disappeared completely from the thread. So It was made to look like he did it first just to cover his but. So as per usual anytime one of these mods thinks you stepping on there feet the cut you off. I have a brief PM conversation with Deadzombie about this and he promised me he was looking into things. This was before the removal of the above post topic but about other post removals that were at the time completely on topic but just plain removed out of meanness. But I never heard anything and then the Duckie stunt happened. So I have just come to accept that this forum is out of any real control but by those of a few elect mods and admins and they simply don't care how some of us are treated. And I am not a ****ie. I have been a member for almost 3 years and this is the treatment I got. Well I said my piece as much as it is on deaf ears. :6
Maybe I will just go back to lurking and give up posting anything at all. And that will be a shame as I am professional computer tech and have answered quite a few questions that people have had about hardware and Windows.

I may be hard on members when they step out of line, but I am also the first to correct problems they are having with the board or other moderators. I never leave this crap unresolved...

Yesterday, I posted a topic on changing the systray icon for iTunes to a mac style icon (the all-black icons). And suddenly after about 6 views, *poof* it was gone. I know I'm classified as a ****, but I've been following the aqua-soft community for a long time now. Long enough to know that what I posted was classified as a pretty good post for other aqua-softers to think about.

This not a complaint, just want an explanation.
Yesterday I started a new [Poll] What is your gender. My intention is to know who is male and who is female so that when we communicate with them we know how to referrring them whether him or her.
But then after a few reply contrasutra closed my thread and saying that this thread just being posted about a 2 days or a few weeks ago. My thread is already deleted by now so I can't show you the links. I pm contra to ask for explanation but then still no reply.
What I'm asking for is if there is such a thread before this show me the links and I will apologise for my stupidity, but then I already STFF but couldn't found any thread like that.

Alang, if you wanna get all threads, extend the dates of the archives longer than 90 days, infact have it set to "from the begining".

Dunno who did it, but usually closed threads get deleted by the staff on the fly.

Timan, and to the rest of the mods/staff.
I have encountered on some occasions, my replies and even two threads I started being deleted, (also one that was closed, but that was my own mistake).
Have send a few PM's to mods, that never got replied, which I assume now they never got. That is all besides the point, (I just wanted to tell someone).
My main suggestion is to keep this thread alive permanently, so that members have a way to voice their problems with mods when they occur, other than sending a PM or email, which then might not be received or claimed not to being received.
I am not having any issues with any of the mods, nor do I want any, but I have noticed that some mods are rather rude in their comments, and a little to quick to close a thread, to the point that I sometimes question their moderation status. I have never said anything because I do not want an argument which is not mine with any of the mods, but this thread gives me a chance to voice how I feel.
I have always felt welcome here, and hope to continue with that feeling. This is a wonderful community which will stay around for a long time to come, if we work together and respect one and other, Moderators and members alike.
Anyhow, take this as you like, it is just my opinion.

bah, most would come to this thread only if they have something to complain about (legitimate or not legitimate). Itsssall good.
Only point i'd make here is that its a fine line between being authoritative on a subject/thread and being autocratic, and occasionally mods start looming. Not seriously or anything, just the rare rant mode, so who cares. And i'd say that's mostly just because they'd be more comfortable posting what they post because of their 'position'(yeah, i know its not really one, but it can have a small phsycological effect anyways).
In the end i can't say i really care, its all floatsum and jetsum anyways...
Maybe you should have a Days of Our Lives thread, or maybe As The World Turns (with
intro music that plays automatically when you enter the thread! :woot: ).
Oh yeah, i've had the PM act a bit weird for me too in the past(dropped sends). Don't know if that's a board thing though or my end, its happened elsewhere too.

But it was last posted on April 2003, and since then how many members is registered here and how many is already left this forum. So for me its ok to start a new thread although the topic is same because it is for new member that haven't got chance to reply on previous thread. Or should we just reply on the previous thread??
Nothing personal here because I know all the admins/mods do their job voluntarily and didn't get dime for it. So its not fair for members to hope that admins/mods to done and excellent job.
So for me and contra I hope this matters is settle between us and I publicly apologise to you for not properly STFF.
And for the other admins/mods thanks for your support.
