I have absolutely no idea how to fix anything like that. I don't know how Windows handles RTL languages.

FlyakiteOSX v3.0 BETA2 e-mails and PMs have just been sent out. No more additional beta requests will be accepted. There will be one more beta after this on Wednesday the 14th, before the final is released sometime after.
@flyakite, I think alduleimi was sharing that info incase you could see an interesting 'hack' programmatic way of using some of the characteristics mentioned (such as desktop icons on right & (Close, Maximize and minimize ) on left etc. for the next release maybe?

, i thought as we all try to get these 2 features by using 3rd party software maybe i could help to get some files from my system that could help you figure out how to get these two features without using any application.

@alduleimi, actually, when I saw your post, I thought to myself that it was one of the most contributive to this thread's objective in quite a while 
I've been unfamiliar with RTL characteristics as well. Quite an interesting idea.

I just downloaded, and the first thing i noticed, the splash screen still says FlyaKiteOSX 2. The installer says 3.

Just installed it onto my Acer Pentium M Laptop, running Windows XP Home SP2, and noticed some things right away. Don't know if it has been mentioned, sorry if you are aware of it.
I installed version 3 after uninstalling version 2, so that those corrupted installs will not work on the one from the older version.
1) Bootscreen doesn't change
2) Y'z Shadow doesn't work
3) For the skin, in a window, the left bar (showing file details etc) is not skinned. (I know you are not a skinner, but there should not be problems in the skin you add..)
Will continue digging out stuff after i restore my RK Launcher settings etc..I lost it.

1) Fixed. Was a small oversight on my part when I changed some of the boot screen installation code.
2) Doesn't work? Is it installed? Check Program FilesYz Shadow. If it exists, double click and see if it runs.
3) Send me a screenshot.
Also, send bug reports to my e-mail, like I stated in the beta message I sent out.

Did you uninstall v2.0 without restarting and then try installing v3.0? if so, that's why. If the installer gives you the option to reboot now or later, its because it NEEDS to restart, its just giving you the option of waiting to restart.
Yea, and thanks to FlyAKite, for making such a great program, willingly listening to requests, no matter how minor it may be.
Just to note, I'll be away from 12 to 14 Dec..I'll test out more after that.
Not a single bug (almost) since the last time I chatted with you, FlyaKite. Works perfectly with Windows English(Pro&Home) and Chinese(Pro).
Just one thing i noticed, may not be fix-able or may not be a bug..and has been around for ages (since v2 or v1): The scrollbar in Firefox or some other programs, at the top, there's a Upward curve above the button. (You may already know this)

The scrollbar bug is not something I can fix. It is controlled by the visual style, which we all should know by now I did not make. Also, like I said earlier, bug reports should be e-mailed to me, do not post them in this thread. The beta is not public for a reason, and therefore screenshots and bug reports (unless done by me), should not be posted in this thread.

If you can find me a OneNote icon I will change it. The problem is that most of the Office 2003 apps do not exist on the Mac platform. The select few do. But Publisher, OneNote, Access, Frontpage, etc. don't actually exist for Mac, so therefore icons do not exist for those programs. If anyone wants to make an icon or can find me one, I'll gladly include it.
I actually have Outlook, OneNote, and Visio icons if you'd like to include them. The OneNote icon isn't my best work, but I use the Visio icon on both my desktop and my laptop, and it blends in very well with the other icons. Email me at shifuimam AT livejournal DOT com if you want them for v3.0.

it's some days i'm looking on the internet about themes, logons, apps... and so on... in order to transform my xp notebook in a iBook copy. some friends told me that's better to buy one :cool:, but i cannot right now so... i want to emulate it! in this way i found a lot of interesting and very exhaustive guides... but there too much things to do! install the theme (with windowblinds or stylexp or use the unpatcher), then the Menu Bar, the logons/logoffs, the Finder, the Icons, the Dock, the Dashboard, the Skins, the Apps.... too much work! :confused: ... then i found FlyAKiteOSX 2. i searched for the official forum but i didn't find it, so i'm here...
1) i downloaded the install file from www.flyakiteosx.com because the official site shows only the 3.0 release announcement. On this site they suggest a normal or a special edition. reading the infos i choosed for the normal one. is it right? (i use XP Prof SP2)
2) i started the installer and choosed to install RK Launcher. After finishing installation i rebooted and found a great surprise, really like my friend's iBook! it's all ok, but just a little problem: RK Launcher works fine, but i cannot configure it! actually i can (modify the apps listed, icons, dimensions, opacity...), but after rebooting it returns as i did no changes, i mean, like as the first start! now i uninstalled flyakite, and next i will reinstall it choosing the other dock app listed in the install options.
3) browsing the windowsresourcestheme folder i found a link to StudioTwentyEight site; so, cai i suppose that the visual styles are made by Kol?
4) if Yes, can i copy in the themes directory the tiger 2 VS by Kol and apply it?
5) browsing on various sites (moreover deviantart and wincustomize) i found a lot of beautyfull icons, logons, apps (like the calendar and others)... can i apply them over flyakite? will release 3.0 contain these addons? i don't need particular apps, but i'd like to have icons, logon/logoff screens, titlebar, findbar and dock (and, if possible, some graphic effects) like the latest OSX 10.4

You surely can add apps, modifications, icons,... over Flyakite. Flyakite is just a shell. You can still add themes and more on top of Flyakite.
I do it all the time.. I have another theme, other sounds, other cursor, other icons, ...
The version of RKlauncher that you have downloaded with Flyakite is probably an older version, go here http://home.cogeco.ca/~raduking/ and download the latest
You can download the ttiger theme by Kol and double click it and it will be installed.

I've only installed FlyakiteOSX v2.0 recently and I love it.
I like your approach at changing the windows appearance directly in the OS files, not through a separate background process.
I've been poking around the replaced icons in shell32.dll to copy some for the RKLauncher and I've noticed that some icons are completely different at 128x128 size (the trash icon looks like a radioactive sign at this rez).
[Edit: I consider this a very minor flaw, compared to the enormous amount of good work FlyakiteOSX has done. ]
I've replaced them with other icons I fount on the net that are 128x128 and I can email them if needed.
Looking forward for v3.0!

WHOA WHOA WHOA.
That s 100% ENTIRELY wrong. FlyakiteOSX has, since its conception, been universal for XP platforms and languages.
The ONLY thing SE does is uses smaller icons for shell32.dll, resulting in a file less than 9mb, which fixes the memory allocation errors users have experienced. That's what it says right on the download page.
