OK, that makes sense with all the problems people have had in the past with various mice and drivers from different manufacturers for scrolling web pages in other apps. Even I had to remove my logitech drivers to get mouse over or X focus back to my browsers!

Sorry don't know about the recycle bin problem.
But for making a shortcut to My Computer do this.
Add a desklet "shortcut" with the Ave control panel.
Now, under the "Label Format" tab in the desklet's properties UNcheck "Automatically update the desklets caption to the file name"
Under the "Shortcut" tab, type the following into the "Target" field:
::{20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D}
Then you can name it whatever you want in the label properties and add your own image for it.
I'm on XPPro SP1 ... dunno if it's a different value for Home or whatever. But it won't break anything to try ;-)
Andreas, tiny question from a friend of mine. With regard to the ftp droplet, would it possible to add SCP along with the FTP transfer?
I'm a **** ... I know nothing personally of SCP. I just know he doesn't use ftp because his business is well, a little more secure than FTP will allow.

Ive started the german translation-"hack" yesterday. Butnot finished yet.Not much time. I dont really think there is or will ever be a option for language support.
But it looks like a god idea to implant that option like in yz apps because of the possibly of an update! :canadian:

This is simply awesome...I'm really having a lot of fun with this. I have a question though (I've read through the thread so if i've missed it...bear with me). I've set the global settings to single click but the iTunes widget still only responds to a double...then when I hit the pause button again it takes me to a different playlist, not from where I left off. Just a minor niggle...really great stuff!

And I have another question, if you have a digital cam or a webcam how do you add it to the desklets? When I try to add the shortcut to the webcam or digicam it just opens the folder (not the desklet itself, but when you are choosing a shortcut).

I did test this out myself, and it works fine for me ... it loads My Computer as if I clicked on the WindowsXP shortcut on my desktop. Are you sure you copied the text exactly as show above? Including the "::" ... because if you don't, you WILL get an error.
With regard to the webcam thing .... it sounds like you are providing the shortcut to the folder the app is in rather than the executable for the program. Other than that, I personally don't know.

I would like to ask a few questions and post a few comments though, if I may, maybe you'll find them interesting. Before I go on I would like to say that I completely understand this is free and this is your gift to us, and I really, truly appreciate it, but I think you might want to hear ideas
1- I have noticed that most docklets don't work, such as Winamp, iCal, mailcheck, taskmenu, etc. Is this normal or is it potentially my particular config?
2- I am really missing hiding/showing/minimizing mechanisms in Avedesk. It seems it could really benefit from funcionality allowing you to quickly bring certain desklets to the front, or having them slide in from out-of-screen, or fade in, etc, you get the idea. I am thinking something like the ability to specify desklet groups "i.e, this desklet belongs to group: 'mygroup'", and then having a place where you can define which groups become visible in which situations. Situations would be Expose-type hot corners and hotkeys, Cooltabs-type Hot-edges, or even small executables that can be attached to keys on multimedia keyboards or expressions with Stroke-it. This would take Avedesk to a whole new level of funcionality I think.
Imagine moving your mouse pointer to the right edge of your screen and having your most important desklets fade in after a few (adjustable) milliseconds, say, you download folder, your winamp/itunes desklet, notes desklet and your calendar, without having to minimize your current full-screen application.
Also, it would be useful if there were desklets that could perform desklet actions, such as a desklet that would set another desklet (or a group) to get on top, hide, show, etc. Imagine a small button on one side of your screen, and when you click it, your drives desklets come up on top of whatever you are working on.
3- Expanding a bit on the previous point, I think modifier keys could be useful to perform similar actions, for example, control-leftclick would set a deklet to be always on top, doing it again makes it go back to its previous state. Perhaps even middle-click could be used this way.
4- When a drive desklet is created and set to only appear when that drive is mounted, (such as an external drive), it works fine is the drive is present at the time Avedesk starts, but if Avedesk started up and the drive is then connected, its corresponding drive desklet never shows up on its own.
5- In addition to "maximum width" for desklet labels, it would be useful to also have "minimum width". The reason for this would be that in some layouts you want to organize your icons horizontally equally spaced, and if you have a special label background applied (powergrad, for example), it will change widths according to the text string in the desklet title, making it look disorganized. If you set all names to be a single letter, then the labels become much smaller than the icon. Adding spaces to the name has no effect. So, a minimum width value would let you manipulate the label size without having to change the text around.
6- A secondary "margin" value would be great for the sub-label. Some fonts have weird spacing and appear to far or too close from the main label.
7- Navigation click-hold submenus for drives (a la obkectdock/cooltabs/YzDock) would be like a christmas dream come true
Those are my main comments/wishes. They're just ideas!

this is a screen shot of what it says, but the shortcut does work, it just doesn't tell you any information in the sublabel, instead it says file not found. The webcam is a system folder right? At least I thought it was, I don't have an executable file to view the contents on my webcam or digicam, it's a folder on my system. Does that make sense?

Here's another idea.
The only way to truly help Andreas the way you intend to, IMHO, would be to set up a minimalistic user-oriented bug/request tracking system, a simple table display where each entry has a link to a more detailed description, voting system for people to vote for/against a certain entry, moderators to validate and assign priorities, and finally a field for Andreas to place HIS priority on it and of course to actually rule on it (yes, no, unlikely, maybe, impossible, etc.), since these would be basically user wishes that Andreas might rightfully reject or accept as he desires. All this of course, would have to be approved by Andreas himself.

Anyone having trouble with Sysstats?
I set my sysstats desklets up and everything works great, but when I reboot my machine or Avedesk it can't load the sysstats.dll file and I have to set them up again. I'm not sure why it's not working. It worked fine with the other version of avedesk.
Anything I can do about this?

i have the issue that when throwing desklets on second monitor they do not react any more after a while... on first monitor everything is working very well and great!
