If you want to enter a long path, I guess you need the Shortcut or Folder desklet Drive is for drives only

Andreas, I'm trying this out and -- wow. This is everything I wished Samurize and DesktopX were --- but not anymore! This is one of the greatest releases in this community ever.

Been testing folder desklet and saw that there is an option that is able to turn off the image of drag'n'drop. Tried to do the same for a normal desklet however didn't find any checkbox for this. Does anybody know how is it possible to overcome this problem?
@Autumnist: check this movie (divX 5.02 required), http://mpj.tomaatnet.nl/clip0020.avi, all the dragging is done while holding shift.

I think you have the same problem as vneumann with NeXplorer -- when you use non-TrueType fonts (I'm currently trying iTunes which is a Type1 font), the text of the label doesn't show up.
@TwiceBlessed: you are right, gonna fix it tomorrow I just forget to add a checkbox there.
@Autumnmist: Type1 fonts are not supported by AveDesk, since they aren't actually native to windows. I had a way to make them be drawn, but the fonts looked really bad, like samurize. I know apps like DesktopX can show type1 fonts, but they are using a whole different method (making their own d-top where they drawn upon). What precisely is the diff and why type1 fonts in AD will look bad, is a too technical discussion.
Best solution is to use a similiar, not Type1 font.
I thought about this too at first but if this is the problem then why i can see the checkbox for a folder desklet and can't see it for a drive desklet?

Restarted several times, when I drag something to my Desktop, it appears as a normal windows XP native icon

Thanks for the quick response. But of course, thanks to your wonderful talents, using proper alpha transparency for the shaodw makes it look nicely antialiased.
The program is awesome by the way, and I only have one complaint:
I try to use the hide icon when drive isn't mounted option but the icon isn't being hid. It still stays on my desktop. Does anyone know how I can fix that?

hustin we have a problem. when i restart my hardrive shortcut lable changes from hardrive(wich i changed it too) to the link address , with is shortcut to bl bla .ink. i saved settings. and restrated and same thing happend.
and the layble for my other shortcut is gone also.

How the hell do you work this thing? I tried the help option, but it doesn't actually bring up a help dialog. I have no idea how to use this. Can anyone help me get started? It looks like a cool prog.

Make sure that you uncheck the "auto update the caption" option under label format.
