[ann] Virtual Os Boot Loader

I thought Id let you all in on a new app at osx-e.com, Since Tom's probably still p****d at the AS board for the fact that so many jumped down his throat, got banned before he could explain and had both his topics closed I guess he wont be posting here...

but like I said in the original post DeskDisk could become a great program and he a great Aqua Programmer. He has just released an app called 'VOSBL' - http://www.osx-e.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=85 The program loads a config on first boot and when all your Aqua GUI Apps have loaded (ObjectBar, Samurize etc.) You set a delay and a background.

Then when you next boot it will show the background with the Mac loading screen with an authentic 'jumping' load bar. This loads before explorer and hides all you apps until the end of the delay. Then your desktop appears with all your apps loaded and you dont have to see any horrible Windows appearing (such as the taskbar) and you can jump straight into Aqua.

Its a great app and yes it does mod system files but then I think in this case hes got no choice. I have ran a system scan since installing and found NO! spyware. :staffs here:

just got this installed, its pretty good, however I am running in 1280x1024 resolution, I selected a smaller sized desktop picture for the VS Background, - it says it will resize it to my desktop resolution, but DID NOT !

other than its nice if you like some eye candy on your desktop after just after the login screen. I quite like the program really !

yes,

It loads after you login, but before anything else.

My resolution is 1280x1024 and when I first installed it it didnt work correctly but then I reinstalled just make sure the installation is done properly and it works. I made a wall specific to my resolution and it works a charm! I dunno if there is a problem with the resizing but its not hard to photoshop a resolution quickly, other than that this program is a stunning piece of eye candy it really does give the impression of loading osx.

edit: as for the link it looks like osx-e.com is down I cant access it at all should be up again soon hopefully

Some points...

1. The app and screenshots are both available on OSX-E. However, it seems as though the site is down at the moment. Will be moving to a better server pretty soon. So, perhaps just hang in there.

2. Respect the developers.

can we please lets not have this keep dragging in the mud..everybody seems to have these little digs and what not about this still, than say its over, but it seems that it never is, because it keeps being brought back up.

Ok, about the site, alangs not about so I am seeing what the hell is going on, I am in the uk and I can access the site fine through mozilla, IE and opera, even with deletion of temp files, I am surfing right through the site without any lags or errors of any kind.

I am sorry that so many of you are having a hard time about this, we are moving, and people have been sucking our bandwidth dry lately. we dont have a lot left and maybe out host is slacking as this is our final month with them. Im not sure, as the server is stateside. I sincerely hope that the site wont be offline until next month as that will suck. So, i am looking into it. silencedge is testing with me as well but he seems to be having as much trouble as you.

Abut hosting the file, I dont really know about that, tom has sated that he only wants osx-e to host it so really, i want to respect his wishes, if u know of someone who has the file, then pass it about, BUT, please do not host the file online somewhere.

Otherwise, whats to stop me from just going ahead and distributing things like the aqua apps and z docks? If I dont care about the developers wish at all, I too could do that.

So, please be patient. We will be back, and I know that some of you in this thread already have the app so give it to each other, im sure you are on each others msn/aim lists.

If the mods wanna prune my post, go right ahead but I neeeded to say all this.

Your ad-detection programs are designed to pick up specific patterns in a file. In this case, the mbshellspy.ocx file. Yes, it is true that mbshellspy.ocx is used in some spyware programs, and because of this, these adware programs are set to pick up any code directed to the control.

Remember, the purpose of an adware detector is to detect POTENTIAL RISKS. These programs are not indefinite solutions.

So, once again I have to say. If everyone on this site knows so much about computers, why bicker over my program WHEN YOU CAN MAKE YOUR OWN, AND PROBABLY MAKE IT BETTER, BECAUSE YOU FEEL YOU ARE ABOVE EVERYONE ELSE.

AND FOR ANYONE WHO WANT'S TO HOST MY PROGRAMS, DON'T EVEN BOTHER. ONLY OSX-E CAN HOST THEM BECAUSE WHEN I HAD THESE PROBLEMS, THEY WERE THE ONLY PEOPLE THAT TREATED ME LIKE A PERSON, AND THEY WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND TO HELP ME STRAIGHTEN THE SITUATION OUT. If DeskDisk had spyware do you really think they would have put it back on their site after I gave them my source code and they had another developer screen it? I don't think the admins at osx-e are trying to screw themselves.

OK, I see what you mean. I, for one, said nothing against your programs, or commented on the whole DeskDisk issue. I appreciate all your hard work. I simply wanted to host a mirror of your much-wanted programs on my site, StyleSuites, for people to download until osx-e.com comes back online. But, if you do not want me to, I respect your wishes.
