Goku and Bolero are contributing- that's why they are in the "Contributors" group.

If you look at the site logs though, most of the staff had really low numbers when it came to the number of moderation actions performed. That's why they were moved to a different group.

They, never expected it as much as they deserve it. Most of the contributors, as you accurately stated, have faded away long time ago due to their own reasons.

However, mentioning the logs, which is accessed by admins only, very few of us have done around the clock work on the forums from the time we were mere global mod, then admin - all the way till today.

Many of the rules and forums lay out in which the current mods enforce was started by that hard working nucleus

I agree with the rules and it's great for any decent board.

Are there badges for good forumers?

Hmm... how bout those for forumers who should be avoided.

I was thinking about additional color-coded badges (little aqua spheres):

Offense 1: Green :sorry:

Offense 2: Orange :cry:

Offese 3: Red :busted red:

Banned: Black :rip:

These would be helpful for the whole community in the end.

Replying to banned members is useless so it should result to lesser posts.

(e.g. flaming, bashing, trolling, dwarfing, elfing, etc.)

Maybe tolerating banned members should be an offense.

Just some inspired thoughts. :woot:

Reminds me of the Scarlet Letter. I'm not sure thats really necessary, I think

everyone gets a feeling for who's posting what around the boards and you

get negative recognition faster than positive around here anyway. But hey,

thats actually not a bad idea, except make the green yellow

It sucks to be this harsh, but it is necessary. If everyone can use some common sense, we will be fine.

Would it be worth making peoples warn levels visible? That way it's more of an incentive to keep on track, and it also lets other members see who the trouble makers are.

No but we might do what DT2 does it allows members to see their own warn levels if they have a warning.

I agree with these new rules, well done administrators and moderators who made up these new rules.

I do think that one member made a good point in the topic that people should at least know what they have done wrong before they are banned, maybe an email or a PM or something.

You could have some staff dedicated to warning people: THE WARNING SQUAD, anyway just my Two Pence
