The Best BitTorrent Client

Phew... I was going to take Calvin, but hey, Hobbes rules big time!

#368620

That he does, that he does. You make this yourself or find it from a set? It's certainly an interesting style :). -NC

Sadly, I'm not that good to draw, I changed the color a bit to get it darker, and I poorly compressed the gif so there's transparency where there should not be....

#368628

Good lord people still use Azuereus???? weeird.

#368629

Pardon me, But isn't Utorrent only for Windows platform? I have been using Azureues on Mac OS X, sure its a memory hog, but thats just a Java problem. For Windows I'm using Utorrent.. It pwns every bt client i have ever used or tried. I wish there was Utorrent for Mac OS X. :(

#368634

Utorrent, no doubt about it.

#368637

I've been using Bitcomet for some time now because it seems to be the only work to allow me to work behind a NATed modem using tranversal feature it has. I just downloaded utorrent because of the good things I was hearing about it but it kept coming back saying i couldn't connect to anyone else... I know it's a problem with the NATed modem and I've read through all the readme files about opening ports (I know a fiar bit about it) but with all these programs, I still seem to have trouble with it...

Anyways... *coughs* I'd have to say BitComet still wins for me even though it does still just about all my bandwidth just for the shear fact that it works.

#368709

Hmmm.... uTorrent is for windows only... sad !!

What you guys would suggest as best client for Mac... I know Azureues, but I keep hearing that heavy on mem...

#368750

Azureues doesn't work for me at least... I tried many times... the java thing kicks in bogging my processing speed down. I love bitcomet, and I will try ABC out right now =)...

#368752

µTorrent is the BEST

#379783

i used to use utorrent, but found it slower than Azureus and that torrents often failed to start.

Now i use Azureus, it doesnt have an integrated search feature, it has a huge file size but too me its got more options, i understand its interface better (utorrent was over simplified) and the torrents just seem to download faster/easier.

EDIT- wow this thread has been going since January 2004!... i never knew bit torrent went back that far!

#379795

I use Acquistion as my bittorrent client now? Is there any other people who have done that? Is it faster than other ones, but I like how it doubles as P2P.

#380004

For me bitcomet is the best ...... i have freakin slow internet connection and it u gotta check the way is leeches... that's y many are banning it from using in private torrents!!!

#380126

for osx its bits on wheels

#380154

Im using Bitcoment right now, Azureus was very slow, Shareaza also :(

ABC was quite good , but bitcomet is better :)

µTorrent doesnt look bad , maybe i will try it...

#380155

tomato torrent is good enough for me on OSX

#380201

i'm using BitLord, and it's great.

http://www.bitlord.com/

#380202

Azureus ftw

#380207

isnt bitlord just bc with adware?

#380259

Definitely uTorrent. It's tiny and it works.

#380260

anyone got a link?

#380261

Azereus Rocks!

#380264

the best clients for OSX are Transmission and Acquisition!!! you don't have ANY osx clients besides azureus and the official one though

#380299

azureus was really crappy last time I tried it on OS X. tomato torrent was what I had used a ton before and it worked great, but Transmission seems to be much nicer. the interface is cleaner. I also like the ability to badge the dock icon with the up and down speeds.

#380574

i just discovered this, everyone probably knew it anyway

in utorrent press about and then hit t to play tetris, or click on the logo to get the THX sound..
