Could you teach all of us how to open ports in the LAN's server?

I get crappy performance both in BitTorrent and Online Games... My brother, who has the server computer, tops the speed of his downloads and can play online games with not even one problem.

Well I have a Linksys router... So I go to http://192.168.1.1 and type "admin" as the default pass, then "Applications and Gaming" and forward ports 6881~6889 to 192.168.1.100 (The computers IP [find in start>run>cmd>ipconfig])... If you use shad0ws you start te get green light rather than yellow :-D

I switched from ABC to Arctic Torrent a long while back. Its written in C++ so it doesnt hog resources. Does exactly what I need it to do.

how old is this thread anyway? i use the official bittorent. i don't like the newest bittorrent official builds though. i use the old ones when there are one window for each download. i like it that way for some reason.

I use Azureus, I think it's the best out of all the others (well it's worked the best for me ).

I just like the flexibilty that you have, you can choose your total upload speed, or you can adjust the upload speed of each individual torrent, and that's the same with downloads as well. It's also a good thing in my book that it only uses one port.

if no one heard of it, it gets you better torrent speeds after service pack 2.

limiting the outbound connections to 2, after that pack..

download something in there and you get set it to unlimited, or 50. whatever floats your boat.

i got max speeds from Azureus.

i use azureus. eh, its pretty good, but a resource hog from java.
