Whoops :shy: , a "little" error of me. Thanks for telling me, it will be fixed in 1.1 or a faster update:)
Workaround: Set the Appearance style for each desklet to "Desktop Icon".

Unbeleiver i wanted to ask you before but you were not connect yesterday when i made the installer, i've a bit modified the manual, you made it with frontpage (vade retro satanas) and there is a lot of problem for people not using IE (like me
) the images were over the text and other...
So i took the content of the file and "reorder it" meaning that i made a clean file with normal images insertion (not using SPAN burk)
I wanted to ask you befor to include it in the installer but Andreas told me you'll surely approuv so i included my corected version
grab it:
http://kerin444.dyndns.org/desklets/manual/
or the package:
http://kerin444.dyndns.org/desklets/manual...Desk_manual.rar
Thank you all
no prob kerin ![]()
i kinda liked it the way it was but i guess it serves it`s purpose well ![]()
the only thing i think you should change is to highlight the tips since people keep asking for Panther labels and they would have found it easier if the tips were highlated ![]()
cheers!
Hey AndreasV, another great release! :respect: I was just looking at the SDK and noticed that the sample .zips that you included are all for the MountDrive docklet/desklet. I'm assuming you meant to include the appropriate files as per the zip name?
Also, any chance of getting hold of your digital clock docklet? (I would like to make it so that the background image can be resized without affecting the font size). If not, would you consider updating it?
Thx again!
@RavenMad: Maybe a bit confusing, but all source files for the samples (Time, Shortcut, Mountchecker) are called sample.cpp, because of me being lazy and copy/pasting the original sample.cpp and modify its content. Very cool btw that you looked into the SDK  , maybe we can expect some desklets from you (hint, hint
).
Sure, you can get the source of my Digital Clock Docklet, PM, e-mail or MSN me to get it ![]()
Wow, this is truly awesome! Thanks so much Andreas!
@Andreas - truly beautiful work! I love this app :rule: I'm also very grateful for you allowing me to help you on the project and giving me a shout out for the logo design
@Unbeliever - Thanks for making the app icon from my PNG. However, I'm a little unclear about its use. Is it included in the app? I still get an icon w/o alpha on my desktop and in the tray.
AndreasV, this app looks awesome and runs nicely! Except that when I have it running 2 shortcut desklets, 1 weather and 1 pop3 checker it takes up 17mb (this is over time, too, not just the original amount). Is this to be expected?
Hmm, that doesn't sound normal, maybe a not yet discovered memory leak >.< . I am running the app myself here for over 12 hours now with 5 shortcuts, a CPU docklet, 2 mountcheckers, a time desklet, a XML Weather docklet, a calendar 3.4 docklet and a POP3 checker and mem-usage is around 10megs.
Would you be so kind to send me your theme.ini file after you have closed AveDesk. It is located in your AveDesk-folder (normally, c:\program files\AveDesk). My e-mail is [ averhoev.2@hccnet.nl ].
Thanks in advance ![]()
Hi!
I don't know if I might be to stupid, but does Avedesk support Drag&Drop on Desklets?
Best,
Rincy2000
P.S.: Even if this doesn't work yet you definitely killed not only DesktopX but also the upcoming Konfabulator for Windows.... ;-)
...sorry, I forgot something.
AndreasV, is it possible to fix the strange behaviour that all Desklets show up as separate applications in Windows's task manager?
Best,
rincy2000
rincy2000: Yeah, AveDesk does support drag-'n-drop on the desklets, as long as the desklet does support it. The current shortcut desklet does not support this yet (lack of time to implement it).
Will be fixed in v1.1, for now: set the style of each desklet to desktop icon ![]()
PS. Thanks for the compliments :shy:
BTW:
For all Spanish people: A spanish EXE version is available now [ http://mpj.tomaatnet.nl/avedesk1_sp.exe ] (translation by John Proenca ).
Any chance of anyone porting this app to linux? ![]()
@AndreasV: check your PM ![]()
As for me dev/releasing any desklets, I'll see how I go... I only have rudimentary C++ skills (more into Java 'n' VB) which is why I thought I'd start by just updating some code already written. Re the sample.dll - I only read the REM in each sample.cpp file - didn't actually check the code (it was just before hitting the sack
)
Thanks again for such a cool app - I knew if I waited long enough I would never have to use a Stardock product!
I must 1st thanx AndreasV for a great app. I have a question. Must "Auto-play" be on for the mountchecker to work? Or am I missunderstanding its functionality. Im thinkin it will mount/unmount a cd when inserted/ejected. It seems to look when Avedesk starts up. But thats all. Also, when it doesnt find a disk, it gives that "Please insert disk" error. Any thoughts? Thanx again. ![]()

That was an error in a old release, the new one should never do this, but I will look at it friday again, ok?
Thanx sir. Im usin the final. I saw 1 more thing. I cant get fonts to go BOLD. No rush, you got alot goin on. ![]()
@ MetalMusicAddict - fonts still have few quirks, should be fixed in 1.1
@ Duckie -
did u set them up like in the manual?
I've looked, but havent found any Panther lables for this...anyone?
Duckie:
I feel that you, and the temporary solution: use True Type Font.
(PFB font usable but the label will "hide" when you try that type of font)
are you sure to have installed the 1.0 FINAL version??? cause it's included in (thanks to CRNI)
reinstall it, and then set the background to CRNI blue for example it should work...
For all French people out there, a French version can be downloaded here [ http://mpj.tomaatnet.nl/avedesk1.02_fr_rev.zip ] (thanks to the folks over at http://www.trucsenvrac.com/ )
@Duckie: Panther labels are in the package, they are called CRNI Red etc. Also GDI+ seems to have some problems with certain fonts, will check that too.
AndreasV, thanks again (Y)
a strange behaviour of mountChecker and my DVD/CD-RW is still in place... It was an idea that AveDesk conflicts with iEx but after shutting down iEx and reboot mountChecker still strange...
And one more question - is mountChecker work with USD Flash Drives? I'm try it but without any result... mountCheck icon appears after I add a desklet (USD drive was in slot) but when I remove USD drive it was still visible... after reload of EveDesk an icon not visible but if I insert USB drive it still invisible...
Autorun is turned off.
If it can help i attach my theme.ini file...
PS
2 Admins: give AndeasV the section in Applications :naughty: He is real devel!!!!!!!!! :rule:
