if this project ever hits final release !

NICE ATTITUDE, way to get behind those developers and show them you support them!!!!

#90737

90% of the projects around here dont get released or it takes a very, very long tim, longer than expected. i liked it alot when mr pixel just said that he was stopping development of iCal without leaving use hanging. that needs to be dont more often. this app is looking great!!!!!!!

I think what happens is people over estimate themselves when doing a project... once they start, it grows too big for them. Thats what happened with iCal... I might have continued to try, but after I finished just a small part of it I looked and saw it taking 10 seconds to draw the little calendar thing! No one wants something that slow. Thats why I have gone to VB 6, and tried something smaller that I can handle. Even though some of us dont believe it, life goes on besides programming. I cant just sit and code, and make things all day long. Life has to happen. So that is why sometimes my projects take time. This one has gone by pretty fast. So please no complaining about things taking too long. If you think its taking too long, then go ahead and make it yourself. I really dont like IngeneerMinds posts about "if it ever gets done" like im not trying. But whatever. Tis the season to be jolly :D:D:D:) :) :) everyone be happy and with school being out for the holiday I can work longer :)

very well put.

I think 90% of the people here understand that developers have lives oustides of producing stuff. The other 10% sometimes it seems that they think that the developers should do exactly what they say. If you don't finish something, so be it.

The bottom line is the developers do what they can, when they can and I fully support that. Without the likes of the developers, we have no great apps. You all take time out of your busy schedules to put these things together, and for that I, for one am very appreciative.

Thanks AGAIN!!!!

To all boards...leave the developers alone!!!

They will do it and they will release it...so just be patient!

Superb post.

That is the main reason why I keep my projects (relatively) secretive. That way, I get the absolute minimum of argument when I drop a planned feature, and the people who do get to hear about it are close enough and trusting enough to understand that I wouldn't just drop a feature from a project (such as CD burning from my iTunes skin) because I couldn't be bothered. They understand that I have a life because they are, to one extent or another, a part of that.

On the other hand, however, because of my extensive background as a professional developer, and my nye-on obsession with trying to get my own work perfect as much for my own sanity (I get a nagging feeling when I leave something "unfinished" without a good reason) as for anyone else's pleasure, I've grown accustomed to being able to judge what I can and cannot do in a given time-frame, and I've become much more realistic over time as to what I will and won't acheive. That's why my next release of anything of my own (as opposed to work to help out others, or where I've been commissioned by others) is slated for the middle of next year, if I'm lucky.

Oh, and for those of you who don't know, my next project is going to rock your worlds.

Trust me. -_-

P.S. If you don't believe me, Contra, Seph, Enhanced, Alilm, Menge, Xero, Binary, and b0se (to name a few, and in no particular order) have all heard my idea, and are "impressed" to say the least. Oh, and if any of you guys feel like putting across your opinions here, feel free... But if you let on what the project is, or the scope of it... I'll hurt you good <_<

Ah yes. The project. The one all and end all of projects.

If only you mere mortals knew what Stevie has planned for you.

we must remember developers are humans not machines (even though they work so hard)!

Actually, Steve doesn't talk about his stuff publicly, because he knows I can complain enough for everyone.

I've got lots of ideas, and no talent. Its hard being contrasutra. -_-

Just as an update for everyone... I am now working on preferences, mainly the UI of them at this current moment, but later I will add functionality to them :) The tab system is still a little buggy, but im working it out. Happy christmas to all!

#91729

Well not many names got thrown out so I thought I would toss one out.

How about Sojourner. I believe its meaning is something like one who takes journeries. Isn't that what a browser is for in the first place. ;)

What is snap-back technology?

#92817

what about the name Voyager or "Voyageur"

I'd like to know this too :)

Apple's description of snapback, from their Safari Reviewer's Guide.

And interesting read, if you wanna know more about the features of Safari (albeit from a marketeer's eye-view).
