You need to run the link while using the browser, Keith. The browser will recognise it as an extension and install it. ![]()
I am using the browser :banging:
Ok after the 9th time of clicking install and having it fail, it finally installed it >.
Why do I get a "no XBL binding for browser" error?
hehe, you're not getting rid of that error, go in and delete the last thing you put in, if not, you'll have to delete your profile and start over. ![]()
Does anyone have the spider icon in the SSMilk7 style?
I deleted Firebird and reinstalled it and same error.
>.
What shall I do now? Reinstall Firebird?
[Edited] :
I reinstalled it... now it's working good. I'd double-check b4 I make the decision next time...

no, delete the profile.
Go to run, "path\to\mozillafirebird" -p
then delete that profile, and make a new one
I've got the same problem with JoLeLuv,And reinstall didn't work.
I'm using the zip version of firebird. so i deleted the exe dir and the profile dir and the registry.then unzip the files to another dir,but still doesn't work ![]()
Hi guys,
I noticed that some of you fellow firebird users are lamenting that you get directed to sites featuring downloads for Mac when what you wanted is obviously Windows apps.
Fear not. Help is here. ![]()
Download the extension User Agent Switcher and you can change the identity of your browser as often as you wish. :woot:
After installing the extension, there'll be a new option that goes Tools>User Agent Switcher and from that point, you can choose whatever identity you want firebird to undertake.
Pretty neat extension.
And for those who are not intending to download this extension, there's the user agent information. :naughty:
Internet Explorer 6.0
Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1)
Opera 7.21
Opera/7.21 (Windows NT 5.1; U) [en]
Enjoy. ![]()
i got firebird to work fine, but couldnt change the image for the compact menu extension, has anyone donw this successfully, can the send me the whole .jar file?
thanx (Y)
but couldnt change the image for the compact menu extension
Yeah, I couldn't get this to work either. I'd either get the word "Menu" instead, which is a known bug of the latest version of compact (see the author's homepage Here).
What I wound up doing was:
1. editing the double spider PNG on Stevie's tutorial to just the gray one i.e. cutting it in half.
2. Install the previous version (not the latest) of Compact.
3. Close Firebird
4. Go to the program files/mozillafirebird/chrome folder
5. Open compact.jar (using WinRar)
6. Navigate to skin > classic > compact
7. Simply replace the image named "sharc-2-8.50.png" with your spider.png but make sure you rename the spider.png to sharc-2-8.50!!
Works for me on the latest nightlies!! :smartass:
