Safari Skin For Mozilla?

I hate to say this, but in the folder

C:\Documents and Settings\thefunky_monkey\Application Data\Mozilla\Profiles\default\r1on5gpc.slt\chrome

the only things are:

~ chrome.rdf

~ userChrome-example.css

~ userContent-example.css

i know you can change things one by one with userChrome.css, but i want to know where my themes go. sorry if im just being dumb ;)

[step 7]: A much better use for the Spider button.

What this will do is add back a Spider button, which when pressed will

bring up a drop down menu that has the File, Edit, View... Toolbar items.

1) Click on the following link Compact Menu, and hit the Install button.

I cannot find the compact Menu it seems that the server is down, anyone can help me?

#91389

The link isn't correct!!! Thnx Scott now it works also for me

#91394

The about image have to be resized to h:200 w:270, so the safari is more circular.

#91398

The original About picture dosnt fit anymore the one created by Stevie BM in the updated tutorial should fit.

Either that or there is this one :P

For my config the about picture from Stevie was too large and the safari logo was somekind oval.

While yours fit perfectly. Thnx Anarchi5t

Hey people!

I need help. Please take a look at attached screenie and tell me what's wrong with address bar borders. I did everything just like in the tutorial. Should I resize leftcap.png and rightcap.png by myself or maybe is it something else?

/edit: OK, I solved the address bar border bug. leftcap & rightcap pngs were 24x22 pixels, I resized them to 24x24 and it looks fine now.

BUT. I forgot about something else. Look at Search field. It looks normal, but I replaced images in it. When I drag it to customization window it looks like it should look (with 'google' caption and so on, just like in the tutorial) but when I drag it back to the toolbar, it reverts to default Firebird look. WTF?

I have the newest Firebird version, if it helps. /edit

Please help

Have you tried to left click on it and then click againa on find in this page?

#91489

Pe7er Sorry about the address bar the Address PNGs worked on my machine if anyone has anymore trouble with them let me know.

The problem with your google field is that the google icons is set to default from google they set the icons that appears in the field therefore we can only change the default view 'find on this page'

Left click the Google icon and select "find on this page" the word google should now appear sorry it disnt give the functionality of a Google search but its the only way to make it look like Safari

Thanks! Of course, that was it :)

Something else: is it possible to mod firebird in linux to achieve this beautiful look?

Thanks again (Y)

I think so, because it's a multi plattaform browser, it has same features in win as in Linux

Any details? I'd like to do it, but I'm a total n00b in linux. I don't want to mess something.

I think you have to find the chrome folder and then i think there's no difference.

#91511

Head over to this post to see the modified safari skin ive done for mozilla firebird.

#91674

thanks for the tutorial steviebm and anarchi5t, and saf-p lynchknot :rule:

2 questions:

1. Has anyone tried getting safari tabs? I've been screwing around with the css files, and it should be possible, but editing the tabs is the one part of modifying firebird that confuses the hell out of me.

2. Does anyone know if its possible to have the 'resize dot' actually functional. I've set up an automatically resizing search box(though i have to work out how to have it retain the curved ends on flexing), but it would be nice if the dot 'worked' so that you could manually resize it yourself. Maybe that would require an extension though.

For the tabs, it should be possible to get it close, though i don't know how you would get the active tab to actually matchup with the brushed toolbar.

ps. !important is annoying.

[step 8]: How turn off the File, Edit, View... Toolbar.

I don't take credit for this one, but I forget who came up with it...

1) Download the following file userchrome.css.

2) Now in Explorer go to C:\Documents and Settings\

user profile\Application Data\Phoenix\Profiles\default\?????????.slt\chrome\.

(Assuming you're running XP.)

3) Copy 'n' Paste userChrome.css into the above directory.

4) Open Phoenix, The File, Edit, View... Toolbar will now be blank.

Isn't that part redundant steviebm, as cmenu gets rid of it anyways. May have changed sinced mageguru's days... sorry, just noticed that as going through this again for a friend, as i didn't bother reading that part when i was doing mine(i already had menu's hidden). :banging:

#93105

Like I said in the tutorial, I didn't do the steps I quoted from MageGuru, so I didn't comment on them.

That's why I left them completely intact, for people's own interpretation.

#93107

I think left and right cap for address bar is needed to be resized...

Like Peter's experience I had encountered same problem....

You may want to check it out and edit the tutorial, if many same problems occurs...

24x22 size look kinda weird...

#93640

Well I cant edit them on kinda wierd give me a screenshot :P

I have had only two reports of the bar caps not lining up and theres bin quite a few use the tutorial, I'll have a look though see if they can be fixed.

Scott

#93651

Here is screen shot....

Somehow it doesn't aligned up like the

screenshot

I used saf-p and leftcap and rightcap image from the tutorial posting which size is 24x22

I believe....

Anyways, happy newyear everyone...
