FlyakiteOSX v3.5 Bug Report Thread

Yeah, so it was really very cool until it rendered my computer completely and totally unusable. I tried restarting some twenty times and each time the Mac splash screen would display and would give way to a screen of total blackness where it would remain indefinitely. It even had the effect of disallowing the use of safe mode so that I became unable to fix my computer. After some tinkering I was able to use my computer in safe mode, though; I then uninstalled flyakite and performed a system restore, and now here I am. However, my computer isn't the same now as it had been before the install; The icons are all enormous, pixelated, and aliased and my browser is no longer displaying webpages appropriately, which is really very weird since there is virtually no reason why Flyakite should ever have to alter any files Firefox's page renderer relies upon.

Terrible experience. I hope the developers get around to fixing this bug, since I very much enjoy having a Mac OS X theme, but I am really not holding my breath.

All u have to do is adjust the colour depth, make sure it's on 32. Accidenly I changed it to 16 so it didn't work

shikaningen, what most likely happened was that you had a Scan Disk scheduled so when you rebooted it was running the scan using a black screen since the latest version of Flyakite included the wrong screen. So it was just a matter to let it run and finish. If you uninstalled it , hope you selected and checked everything you installed in the first place and lastly refresh the system cache to get your icons back....

when i put ms word (2000) in the dock, it will only open if there is an icon present on the desktop, anyway to have it open while on the dock without the icon being present on the desktop?

right-click dock item, then dock entry properties, then direct/browse your link to the program itself, in your case probably C:Program Files...word.exe. Also configure Dock Settings to point to the applications and not to the shortcuts.

Hello folks. I've had trouble around here since installing flyakite.

I'm getting the error message 'Bad Image', saying that the "dll not a valid Windows image", when trying to run a variety of program setup exe files.

Can anyone help? Uninstalling flyakite and system restore did not resolce the problem.

I hope it can be fixed because flyakite is so nice to work with that XP now makes me want to vomit, and classic windows makes me feel like I'm lost in a rat infested communist apartment block.

Hello , i recently install FlyakiteOSX 3.5.I like this pack but there is a problem.After i install FlyakiteOSX my antivirus AVG 7.5 don't work.

He give me this error :

"avgcc.exe - Illegal System DLL Relocation" : "The system DLL user32.dll was relocated in memory.The aplication will not run properly.The relocation ocurred because the DLL C:WINDOWSsystem32SHELL32.dll ocupied an address range reserved for windows system DLLs.The vendor supplying the DLL should be contact for a new DLL."

I search on google i search on this forum but i can't solve my problem .Hope you help me and make my AVG to work

I'm having a minor issue with the pack... I recently uninstalled it and went back to a windows look but there were two errors... my boot screen is still the apple logo and my microsoft excel program still has the mac icon... can anyone help me??

So I uninstalled and reinstalled FlyakiteOSX like 2-3 times but my iTunes still won't work. I can't even uninstall or reinstall it at this point. Everytime I'm halfway through it this comes up:

Could not write value description to key softwaremozillaplugins@apple.com/itunes,version=. Verify that you have sufficient acces to that ket, or contact your support personnel.

And, in the end, I have no choice but to abort the repair/install/uninstall. Please help me.

@Aly007, I know this is a few months back but hopefully this could help others who have similar problems (I also know this has been answered before so search these forums for more details on this.)

The "Illegal Relocation" Problems could stem from installing FKOSX3.5 with non 48 x 48 icon size option. meaning that you installed with the larger 128 option. Try uninstalling FK and reinstalling wiht the 48 option. This should fix the problem.

@mengiee, have you tried unchecking anything that has to do with iTunes during the install of FK? For instance, install FK with just the core components and opt not to go with any of the more fancy stuff. Specifically, do not install the iTune's MultiPlugin option.

So, for instance: This is how I installed FK for XP3 and it's been working fine since.

~ Set Restore Point

~ Selected all under 'System Files' (Except the UXTheme Patcher and moviemk.exe)

~ Under 'Extras' only selected: cursors, screensaver, sounds, user pics, (nothing else.)

~ Nothing selected under 'Skins' & 'Software'

~ Under 'Tweaks' only selected: 'disable throbbers.'

~ In the next window: 'Extra Options,' Used 48 * 48 icons, and selected nothing else.

I tried to use FF3 with another PC (not having FlyakiteOSX v3.5 theme) and it works OK

so the problem in something in the theme when you use FF3

hi..im new here..wanna ask ab the dock problem..after i installed the FlyakiteOSX v3.5, if not mistaken..the dock there got 1 icon call Dialog beside recycle bin...i pull it out to desktop..thought want to delete it..but i duno wat happen it cant delete..now still appear on my desktop...

Hey, can somebody please help me out?

I installed Flyakite 3.5 at my windows xp. It worked for about 2 days but every time I turn on my PC now, I get an error message after loading "Windows" saying something like : There is a more recent version , and something else I don't remember. Then my computer restarts. How do i remove this error? and if I have to uninstall flyakite, how do I uninstall it? Thanks

Hi, I have just installed flyakiteosx v3.5 and am pleased with what I have but it's not all of it and I would like the whole thing. It gave me the boot screen, the sounds, the cursor, the icons, the dock, background, everything except the skin, the taskbar didn't change and it won't let me change it. And I still have the standard XP theme for any window that I bring up. I just want to be able to use the red, yellow, and green buttons instead of x, square, and -.
