How Thunderbird can look like

@manneman

1: move all your buttons into the menubar then hide the Mail Toolbar

View>Toolbars>Mail Toolbar - deselect it

theEVILcube!

That worked fine on Firefox... but when I rightclick on the toolbar I only get "Customize"...

EDIT... Sorry... Thanx man... got it...;-)

I would like to change the toolbar background for my compose windows.

What does this code change the background too?

I thought it might change the background in my toolbar in the compose windows as it says but I cant get it to change. Does anyone know how I might do this ?

Use this :D

#compose-toolbox {

background-image: url("platinum.bmp") !important;

background-color: none !important;

}

---

So far, this is where I'm at. I just need to do the titlebar and that's about it.

Nobody answered me, but I'm still interested. How can I do folders with unread messages with bold letters?

#367514

Use this :D

#compose-toolbox {
background-image: url("platinum.bmp") !important;
background-color: none !important;
}

I didnt have any success with this. I placed the code in my Userchrome.css and replaced platinum.bmp with Toolbar.png(my image).

Am I doing this right. Here is a pic of my Compose Window.

Also is there a way to get the compact menu into the Compose Window.

#367659

@j2227 : I got it working. Thank you.

I still want to get the Compact Menu into the Compose window if anyone has any ideas.

#367664

If someone will send me screenshots of Mail using the VOID theme (on OS X) I'll make a theme for thunderbird!

Even though the toolbar icons are text, I still need to know how it looks to know what to do for it.

You guys are getting so close, I just think we need some variants now to make it look really real.

#367699

all these comments are making me confused ;)

@theEVILcube, did you get it working? Here's mine.

th_compose.jpg

@LeRoi, I'm not sure. I haven't thought about it. Give me a day or so and I should come up with it.

@sean.fletcher, sorry, can't help you. I don't have a mac. most of the stuff i get is from friends with G5s and iBooks. Maybe and OS X user can. Just look around the forum to see who has one :)

#368252

@j2227 That is beautiful work!!! Im still having trouble getting rid of the menu or replacing it with the Compact menu. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

#368284

Well i tried my best to get it to match the milk 3.1 VS im using and get it to also match Safire Milk

for firefox.

Still have to tweak the text, not to pleased with it so far....

Its not exact to the original tiger mail but suits me fine ... love the milk themes..

Im using compact menu with a blank png for the main window

and used the hide menu in the userchrome for the compose and address book windows...

and a few other tweaks i got from you guys on this post....

here a little screeny.....

keep up the good work guys

and thanks INpac for starting this thread:)

holy kanoli!

does anyone know how to resize the list box beneath the "From: Listbox"?

There are always 4 columns/lines and I do not really need them cuz I mostly write a mail only to one person ... ? :)

j2227, thx !

I must have missed it... but I have a question:

I use Tiger Mail Skin 1.5.6 where the big icons are default at the left side... can I make them small like in version 2.0?

#369656

hi,....i don't quite know if this fits in here...but well...

i was trying fer hours to remove the lines i marked red in my picture,...so that there's only one receipant line....any ideas? or was i just too blind?..

@mannemann: i've looked in the 1.5 skin and as far as i can see there is no subskin with small icons

#369663

@INpac, if you want a real lookalike to Apple Mail's compose window, I'll get on it right away, if no one beats me. ;)

Edit: In the meantime, here are the OS X scrollbars. (42KB)

They're not pixel perfect, but pretty close, but read the instructions! :P

hey i really like this mod, is there any way you can do it for firefox too?

#369673

I finished mine for now. Thunderbird Mail Image

Thank you to all that helped.

Depends how far you want to take it. I went nuts over this, even though I hardly ever use it, but I thought it'd look cool to have an Apple Mail icon on my desktop to fool my friends.

As for firefox...well, there are so many options, and worth starting a new thread over. Are you talking about turning it into Safari (that'd be a total dejavu for me ;)) or making it Platinum?

The compose window is tricky, because the theme doesn't control the size of the listbox (as it is called).

You can use:

dummy-row { display: none !important; }

To hide the boxes, but you get left with empty space. I tried:

listbox { height: 24px !important; }

to get rid of it, but it didn't work. I guess you have to edit the xul.css, wherever that is. (probably in C:Program FilesMozilla Thunderbirdchrome)

@Trent Pivot:

To rename Unsent, go to.......where is it?! It should be in the thread somewhere. Anyway, go to your Install directory and open up en-US (if your local ;)). Open up to messenger and click on messenger.dtd and edit to your liking. Its pretty easy once you find it. To remove the folder Draft....well, I'm not at my home computer right now so can't help you. If you have the DOM Inspector install, you can use that to edit your userChrome, but if you don't know how to, stick around.

#369977

Thanks but I can't find it in the messenger.dtd file under what
