PantherXP is dying! Please Help!

Ok, I have been back for a month, and have only talked with "DrFire" maybe twice. He apparently is not making a valid effort to complete this project. If ANYONE can help with this project please email ME at dremation@gmail.com

Here is what the team needs

2-3 VB Programmers

1 Visual C++ Programmer

1-2 Graphic Designers

1-2 Web Desgners

1-2 Technical Writters

If you can help with ANY of these please email me. I will then send you a detialed summary of what is needed for each position. I will also email you an ftp user account and password information to use as a source safe and trading post. I have registered "www.pantherxp.org". Once there is a 100% working web-site designed, I will provide hosting for the domain. I would love to see this project work out and be something big. And maybe you guys can help make it big and be a big part of it.

You should contact Chris Kite. His Flyakite apps are really good.

For the Finder the latest nexplorer 1.9 which is not very buggy as the old versions are somewhere in the corner.

That's all i know. I wish i could program. If i could program, i'll be the first to join the team.

yes - and as I understand it, each element can be updated seperately when necessary.

But I'd rather be using a Panther shell than wait around another 3-4 months for a Tiger version to appear.

Tricky is right. Each individule module of PXP will have the ability to be updated by itself. You will have the option to use 3rd pary docks and finders. When installing PXP you will have the option to install the dock, finder, fastuser switching, virtual mounting, skins and so on. Each aspect of PXP can be controlled y scripts. So there is not much limitation to the ability of PXP.

We do have two new members on the team I bealive. One for graphic design, and one for website design.

We still need a few programmers.

There is no sense in just two people working on a large scale project like this. Each team member has or will have their own assignments. Timmy, what we need is a bug reporting section of the site. It can be written in ASP or PHP. It needs to allow a user to define their system specs and supply their feedback on PantherXP. We need to have this ready before we release any future versions.

I can help with any graphic design needs that you have. A few months ago I extracted every single GUI element from OS X 10.3 and placed them in a zip file. You can find the file and the accompanying discussion over here. I know that file has made some rounds on the internet, but shortly after releasing it I left for quite some time, and have no idea who (if any) developers are using it. If you already are, I hope you're finding it helpful!

quick question. Why do we need state/country/age group? and also, i might be wrong but, isnt XP the only win OS that has a shell/is modfiyable/we're going to work on? i might be really off on that second question :confused: but im just clarifying.

@Timmy - I would say thats its more to refine 'which' version of XP people are running i.e. Home/Pro/SP1/SP2 etc...

Yes, I mean the Version of Xp including service pack info. This will help track any bugs.

The country and state would just be used to track where people are using our products so we know what language packs to write. The age group will help determain other variable information that will go into the project.

And no, winXP is not the only os with a shell. all windows versions has a shell. but yes, we are developing for win2000 and better.
