Instead of people shouting eureka, could someone please tell the rest of us what to type in the ini file to get items to work inside the menu, please, pretty please with sugar on top??? I'm busting my brains here... Please let us in on it.

To people like mkuiter, sorry if I could help ya guys, but I am very bad at giving directions to people on how to do things. ![]()
Very nice, more accurate but not yet exact, we need to figure out how to move the arrow to the left
I know how to move the arrow, put these numbers in the Metrics line in the .ini file.
64,16,32,16,16,0,64,80,112,128,64,32,16,64,0,80,160,208,256,288,368
I only find one prob, the shadow dissapears from the right, but maybe we could edit the .png file for the shadow.
Anyway try it.
Give me comments ![]()

P.S. Backup the original .ini file first.

The loss of the shadow isnt that noticible, but yeah, it could be edited into the png i think, anyway, it looks much more accurate now
If u put these numbers in the metrics line, u get the same effect but with a shadow ![]()

@ztiworoh: how did you manage to create more menus? I have copied the "menu" folder and repit the process but whenever I try this second menu I get the "test.bat" menu:

ok I have officially deleted the menu crap since even the maker didnt provide instructions on how to get it to work and this thread is so helpful, made me want to keep it even more (sarcasm).

Within the .ini I made seperate groupings set off by [group name]
The one that is comes with is [ms office]
What is in the brackets you put in the object dock arguments line and those are the items that show up
@Ender:
To make an additional menu, this is what you do:
1. Go to the ini file and then go to the end of the file
2. Add a new line that reads [Menu Name]
3. Then add a new file shortcut ie. Name = "I", "PNG Path", "Source Path", "Arguments"
4. Then add another shortcut to Kk menu.exe in the dock and under arguments set "Menu Name"
5. That should do it, only problem is that the skin is the same.
Hope that helped,
Miqx
thx skyliner34, I'll read what you got when you put it up, then decide if I want to try it again. Thx for trying.
It will be up tommorow, i've only just started it, and it's getting late over here in the UK, so see ya tomorow some time:)

Here is how I did it to work:
1. Follow the installation instructions given by Miqx in the first page of this tutorial.
2. Save Skyliner34's awesome skin in the recently ceated "Menu" folder as Aqua.png.
3. Edit kkmenu.ini to fit my taste.
First off all is giving a name to our menu so change [MS Office] to [Whatever you want]
Second, edit the name of a concret menu item. For example:
Shared disk = "l","Shared disk.png","D:\",""
Next, we are going to change the image of the menu item by changing the second text string between
the quotes (in our example Shared disk.png). Type the name of the image you want to use but first you
must place that mage in the "Menu" folder.
Now, we must say the program where to find our menu item executable.We can do this by replacing the
third string between quotes (in this case "D:\") with the location of your desired program.
Finally, we must create a new Objectdock shortcut with the following settings:
Title: whatever you want.
Link: the location of your Kkmenu.exe file.
Arguments: the name you gave to your menu between double quotes (in our case should be "Whatever
you want"
Image: select an image for your shortcut.
It is not needed to change the rest of the ini file but you change the Metrics line's numbers with the ones given by Skiliner34 above for an improvement of the shadow.
That's all folks!
Enjoy.
Wel I cannot edit my previous post so here are some corrections:
In the first point I meant "thread" and not "tutorial" (my bad).
And, if you want to create several menus just follow the instructions given by our kind members Miqx and ztiworoh. Thank you to you both ![]()
Oh my God! Someday I'm gonna loose my head....
If you want to add a separator item to your menus, just type in the ini file Separator = "S" between the items' lines you want.Here is how my ini file looks:
[image]
File Name = "Aqua.png"
Alpha = 224
Font: Face,Size,Style(BIU) = "Lucida Grande",11,""
Font Normal Color: R,G,B,A = 0,0,0,255
Font Highlighted Color: R,G,B,A = 255,255,255,255
Menu Item Border Width = 1
Metrics: A-V = 64,16,32,16,16,0,64,80,112,128,64,32,16,64,0,80,160,208,256,288,368
[Finder]
Disco de 3½ = "l","Disco 3½.png","C:\Sistema\explorer.exe A:\",""
Separador1 = "S",""
OS X = "I","OS X.png","C:\Sistema\explorer.exe C:\",""
Emulación = "I","Disco duro.png","C:\Sistema\explorer.exe D:\",""
Compartido = "I","Disco duro.png","C:\Sistema\explorer.exe E:\",""
Origin = "l",Origin.png","C:\Sistema\explorer.exe G:\",""
Separador2 = "S",""
Disco versátil = "l","Disco versátil.png","C:\Sistema\explorer.exe H:\",""
Grabadora = "l","Disco compacto grabable.png","C:\Sistema\explorer.exe F:\",""
[internet]
Navegador = "l","Safari.png","C:\Aplicaciones\Safari\Safari.exe",""
Separador1 = "S"
Correo = "I","Correo electrónico.png","C:\Aplicaciones\Outlook express\msimn.exe",""
Agenda = "I","Libreta de direcciones (2).png","C:\Aplicaciones\Libreta de direcciones\Libreta de direcciones.exe,""
Separador2 = "S"
Mensajero = "l","Mensajero.png","C:\Aplicaciones\Messenger\msmsgs.exe"."","C:\"
Here are a couple things that you can do to make it that much more accurate I figured out what most of the metrics garbage means and the important ones:
this is what my line looks like:
64,16,32,1,20,0,64,80,112,128,64,25,8,64,0,80,160,208,256,288,368
1 - this changes the highlight size, the lower you go the longer it becomes, the original number was 16 and I thought it was a bit jagged so I made it lower, don't go to 0 it disappears and anything past 16 doesn't cover the whole word
25 - this is the icon size, 32 is the default I like it smaller
8 - this is the size of the separator default is 16, I think it also affects the spacing between the lines themselves
A majority of the numbers are for placements of the borders and highlight, editing them yields odd results.
Enjoy,
Miqx

Thanks, I was wondering if that was changable
Thanks Miqx. Let's see if you know this guys: what is the path to a network workgroup? I have already tried
"C:\Windows\explorer.exe \\Hell" but no luck.
i've managed to make a few menus already (iapps, office, games, etc) with this, but how do i get the program to open folders? I can make a folder menu but when i click on one of my folders nothing pops up...any ideas on how to do it?
