[release] Calendar V 1.0

@Ghostwalker: Don't know what to tell you dude. I'm kinda in the dark here as I have not experienced this issue. However, please download the latest .NET framework release if you don't have it. It might work as well. Other than that, the application is pretty straight foward, it gets its images from the 'Images' folder, so I don't see where the error could be. And if it were something wrong with how the application gets its images, then neither the grid, nor the mini cal, no images what-so-ever would show up. I really don't know what's wrong with it on that aspect. Please anyone who has experienced and solved this issue help out Ghostwalker here. Thanks

@Thanks for the hosting juno :) You will be in my prayers and in my read-me's as well.

Thanks holden I will try that and see if it helps, been really looking forward to this.

#209475

Yeah, quite a few folk are getting this bug, and I have yet no idea what's causing it :S I think Duckie was experiencing it and was able to fix it, so if anyone could get in touch with him, that'd be grand.

#209478

Well, that was quick!

Now, how about you let us set any time we want to for our appointments, eh eh? I personally have a weekly appointment at 14:70 PM that I'd like to be on time for.

*ducks and starts running*

lol Autumnmist. Well, alls I have to say is 1.2 is going to address most of this stuff. I have a question for you guys though. As for the alarms, since the program has to remain opened for it to check if it's time to set off and alarm, would you guys like to have a 'Mini-Mode'? You know, kinda like iTunes, so the application doesn't take up as much ram and resources and you can just keep it there showing the current date and whatnot, and just checking for alarms? Or should I just leave it as it is with alarms implemented? Tell me what you think.

You can speak in spanish man.

No one know whats causing this problem yet updated to the latest .net no good....Duckie to the rescue.

#209703

This is getting worrysome. I'll start testing the application on various pcs and see what I can come up with. Thank you all for your patience, and I hope the ones that got it working normally are enjoying it.

-----

!Update: I have encountered a couple of bugs: On the Month view, if you're on the last days of a month, and you click on the next month button, the application will skip a month, like in this case, it will skip from August to Octobre, I'm fixing it as we speak.

Also, there are some refresh issues: If you add half an hour to an appointment, it will draw funny till you move the scrollbar or change views or something, I'll fix that once I finish fixing the Month View. Expect v1.1.1 later today. Version 1.2 is a little delayed 'cause of these new bugs till further notice.

#209791

Version 1.2: I've just uploaded version 1.2. Please re-download the application from the links in the first post in this thread. Probably the last one, as the application hasn't caught much of the public's eye lol, so it probably isn't worth the work. I mean, how many of you are actually using it? In any case, here's the change log:

Version 1.2.0: Added alarms. Added the ability to completely change an appointment’s starting hour/minute, ending hour/minute from the ‘Appointment Info’ dialog. Fixed the month-view bug where if you were on the last days of the month it’d skip a month. Fixed some draw issues with half hour appointments.

I'll probably keep looking for bugs and release 1.2.1 sometime this week, and then leave it at that. I wanna thank you all for your interest in the application, and hope you have fun with it. Till next time,

Dave.

Edit: Hi guys, how are you doing? Thigs are good home. Well, I was wondering if you could pitch in with requests/bugs in the thread? I mean, it'd be awesome to release 1.2.1 adding the functionality or bugs fixes you all want.

I think you should wait till the releases news on the front page gets updated and this gets included.

I don't know about other people, but ever since the "Most recent forum posts" list was removed from the Aqua-Soft front page, I've been missing a lot of releases. It's a lot more complicated to go to the forums page and then surf through each of the boards I'm interested in to check if there's been a new release. It used to be that if there was a hot release, the thread would stay up at the top of the "most recent" list for hours or days.

#210398

I agree with Autumnist. Now that most recent posts is back up, you'll get a little more traffic. I basically abandoned A-S for the last month or so because that wasn't up; that list is how I find threads to contribute to. If you release 1.2.1, and then PM a news poster (Unbeliever is a good one, as is deadzombie), this app will get a lot more attention. Good iCal calendar apps don't come along that often- usually, we just see new Rainlendar skins.

So, basically, give it some time, and try PMing Unbeliever! Although, developing the app is really your choice. :D

-nightcrawler1089

P.S: A suggestion for the app- allow the window to be resizable (and the option to maximize it).

#210414

why hasn't this been posted to news yet? first time i saw this thread, this looks amazing, going to try it now.

not sure if this is a bug... why in the first screenshot is sept.30 highlighted? then, in the second shot, i scrolled down to the last week of this month and it went back and highlighted the first few days.

It's back up??? Where?!

#210450

@Autumnmist, nightcrawler1089: Thanks guys. I'm gonna listen to your advise and just wait it out for a few weeks, see what happens. I dig you two. Tell you what, since you're both so nice, whatever you'd like to see in the application, you'll get. How does that sound?

@wookietv: Thanks man, I'm really glad you liked it. The bug you're referring too is not a bug but more on the limitation side, if you look on the top of the month frame (the little rectangle that shows the month days with the days viewed selected in blue), you'll see it says September 5 on the first, and September 29 on the second. That means that you're viewing the week for September 5 on the first pic, and that means you're actually viewing a few days for August too. So the app is telling you that you're viewing days 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 from September, and day 30, 31 from August. On the second one, you're viewing the week from September 29, so you're also vewing a few days from October, so the app is telling you that you're viewing: days 27, 28, 29, 30 from September, and days 1, 2, 3 from October. I know it's a little confusing, I'll address this limitation in 1.2.1 hopefully. Thanks for the heads up tho. Much appreciated.

Holden,

I think you did a wonderful job creating this app and I would seriously like to use it. But even with version 1.2 the bottom part (below the grid) isn't visible.

I tried everything (even running the luna XP theme and no WB or OB - just Objectdock+) and still the result is the same.

Does anybody reading this thread have any idea what might cause this and more importantly how to fix it???

Please, anybody?

Thanks a lot in advance

Yeah man, I'm aware the bug is still there, I mean, I have no idea how to fix it. I think the only person alive who has fixed this is Duckie, but I haven't been able to get in touch with him, I'm trying though, and as soon as I do, I'll post it here. Sorry about this bug all, I really don't know what's wrong
